Just like that it’s Monday! Spring and Opening Day is right around the corner. Meaning, the casual DFS player is losing interest with hockey. Full blown baseball fever!

Don’t forget to find me on Twitter! Always updating my lines! https://twitter.com/DetroitBeastie

In other words, it’s the perfect time to go all in on NHL DFS! To be fair I’m always all in with hockey! Aside from Halloween this has to be the best time of the year! Loads of NBA, NHL and MLB action!

When we sit down to research and dissect each slate just know we have the advantage!

Tonight is a great evening for hockey! Only five games to choose from. Here it is! Hot Puck in all it’s glory.

FANDUEL slate                                                                              DRAFTKINGS slate

Main 7p (5)                                                                                     Main 7p (5)
Express 8p (2)                                                                                Turbo 8p (2)
After Hours 9p (2)                                                                           Late 9p (2)

LOS ANGELES 1

Anze Kopitar L1 & PP1
Alex Iaffallo L1 & PP1
Dustin Brown L1 & PP1

COL skates into the Staples Center tonight on back end of a back-to-back. COL has been quite consistent but the Kings have won 5 straight games! LA has won 7 of their last 10 vs. Colorado recently. I don’t know what it is but teams haven’t played well in California recently! I love the Kings tonight! 4-2 or 3-1!

EDMONTON 1

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins L1 & PP1
Connor McDavid L1 & PP1
Zack Kassian L1

Vegas is rolling right now and they play in Edmonton this evening. While the Oilers continue to play good hockey. Vegas is playing their second game of a B2B tonight. That’s doesn’t worry me much but I still believe EDM out skates them tonight. Can’t go wrong with a few one offs from EDM. As you scroll through you’ll see my thought process!

WINNIPEG 2

Nikolaj Ehlers L2 & PP1
Cody Eakin L2
Patrik Laine L2 & PP1

The Coyotes are in Winnipeg tonight. The over/under sits at 5.5 goals and I can see a more tight physical game here. I’m liking the under meaning, I wouldn’t get too wild with stacks in this one. WPG2 is our best bet for points.

FLORIDA 2

Jonathan Huberdeau L2 & PP1
Erik Haula L2 & PP2
Mike Hoffman L2 & PP1

Florida is rested, desperate and on the road. It’s that simple for me. The Blues are the better team and having been playing well. Don’t care who wins, just want points!

WASHINGTON 1

Alex Ovechkin L1 & PP1
Evgeny Kuznetsov L1 & PP1
Tom Wilson L1 & PP2

WASHINGTON 2

Jakub Vrana L2
Nicklas Backstrom L2 & PP1
T.J. Oshie L2 & PP1

The Capitals LOVE playing Buffalo! They have beat BUF 8 out of the last 10. Buffalo cant get together tonight while WSH has their way with them! 4-2 or 5-3 final tonight.

BUFFALO 1

Jack Eichel L1 & PP1
Jeff Skinner L1 & PP1
Sam Reinhart L1 & PP1

Classic case of keeping pace with the other team. BUF1 scores once or twice at home tonight.

Today is the day Hot Puck puts it all together! Your one stop shop for NHL DFS! I’ve listened to all of you! I’ve read the comments and emails! By popular demand, Hot Pucking Stacks presents our lightening round of BOTH offensive one offs AND Defensive one offs!

Mixing and matching is my favorite way to attack a smaller slate! Find one stud line to use then mix and match the rest! Are you ready? Good! Here they are!

Yesterday I had a lot of positive feedback on the defense-man one off segment! With the 14 team stacks given already I’d like to think I left no stone unturned. One off wingers or centers doesn’t seem that important.

Hot Pucking Stacks presents a NEW feature! One off DEFENSEMAN! If you’re like me I fill out my offensive roster first THEN double back to plug in defense. Normally I choose the cheapest D-man with the most ice team. Power play minutes is huge for me when choosing my defensive skaters! Enjoy the new segment!

Thankfully NHL is back with an absolutely monster schedule! Meaning, Hot Pucking Stacks is back in full effect! It’s loaded with stacks and free sample lineups tonight too.

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/20/20 (TWO free lineups)

Good afternoon! Forgive me and the late start today! Sometimes real life gets in the way of our fantasy lives!

Last night was fantastic! BOTH our Main line and After Hours had a terrific showing! I try and get it out to as many people as possible! Make sure you like and comment on the article! Or sign up for DFScheetsheet newsletter! The more the merrier!

After Hours 2-19 – 145.6

Tonight 2-20-20 is perfectly sized schedule broken down into four separate slates!

Main 7p (8 games)
Express 7:30p (2)
Late Night 8p (3)
After Hours 10p (2)

NEW JERSEY 1

Jack Huges L1 & PP1
Nico Hischier L1 & PP1
Kyle Palmieri L1 & PP1

The Devils welcome the Sharks in tonight. Kyle Palmieri leads the team in goals (22) while they are scoring on 16% of the power play. I’m going to give the advantage to NJ tonight given the fact SJ hasn’t been able to get anything good going. The Sharks are giving up tons of shots on goal a night and SJ has given up 3+ goals in 8 of their last 12.

WASHINGTON 1

Alex Ovechkin L1 & PP1
Nicklas Backstrom L1 & PP1
Tom Wilson L1

WASHINGTON 2

Jakub Vrana L2 & PP1
Evgeny Kuznetsov L2 & PP2
T.J. Oshie L2 & PP1

Montreal comes to Washington tonight having lost 5 in a row. They are also 3-7 vs. WSH the last 10. Montreal is as low as it gets as of late. I like a nice mix and match of both lines tonight. 5-2 or a 6-2 final tonight! Caps win!

PITTSBURGH 2

Jared McCann L2 & PP2
Evgeni Malkin L2 & PP1
Bryan Rust L2 & PP1

Penguins are in Toronto tonight and it’s split right down the middle far as goal projections are concerned! I can see a situation where the masses stack TB1 & PIT1 leaving each teams second line ripe for the picking!

ST. LOUIS 2

Zach Sanford L2 & PP2
Robert Thomas L2 & PP2
David Perron L2 & PP1

Arizona comes to St. Louis tonight on the second half of a back to back. ARZ has been historically bad in the second half of a back-to-back. They have also been horrible on the road. 1-8 their last 9. All signs point to a Blues route!

TAMPA BAY 2

Ondrej Palat L2 & PP2
Anthony Cirelli L2 & PP1
Alex Killorn L2 & PP2

Tampa Bay is in Vegas tonight with another evenly split match-up! The Lightening have been RED HOT! Riding an eleven game winning streak they meet the Golden Knights who have won three in a row! Far as betting line for the game is concerned, its slightly tilted in TB’s favor. Stack their second line and avoid the rush of the big name stacks tonight. They can put up points with the best of them!

WINNIPEG 1

Nikolaj Ehlers L1 & PP2
Mark Scheifele L1 & PP1
Blake Wheeler L2 & PP1

WINNIPEG 2

Patrik Laine L2 & PP1
Andrew Copp L2 & PP2
Kyle Connor L2 & PP1

The Jets are in Ottawa tonight and personally I’m going all in on the Jets tonight. They are scoring 3 goals a game and converting on 19.4% with a man advantage. While The Senators have given up 3+ goals in 10 of their last 14.

PHILADELPHIA PP1

Travis Konecny L2 & PP1
Sean Couturier L1 & PP1
Jakub Voracek L1 & PP1
Claude Giroux L1 & PP1
Ivan Provorov (defense) L1 & PP1

The Flyers are flying and scoring 3.2 goals a game and 19.7% on the power play. They have won 8 of their last 12 and they skate into Columbus tonight! CBJ has lost 6 straight and are only killing 82% of their penalties. Philly JUST beat CBJ a few nights ago 5-1 and haven’t cooled down since. Tonight I wouldn’t mind piecing my lines together with members of the Philly PP1!

Quick shout out to the Vegas Knights tonight. An honorable mention if you will. When you see my After Hours sample line you’ll see what I’m talking about!

As you can see I have provided BOTH a Main line as well as an After Hours sample line.

Main 2-20

Please play responsibility and know these lines are to be used for entertainment purposes!

After Hours 2-20

Hang here and look for an update line closer to the After Hours lock at 10p!

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/17/20

This weekend was beautiful and the hockey action was fantastic. Today is Presidents Day so we have an earlier lock with the Main contest.

4p Main (5 games)
6p After Hours (2 games)

I had a few questions yesterday in regards to my sample lineups compared to the stacks I list. When I research I find line combos and skaters that are in good spots. When sharing sample lines it is a mix and match of the different ways I see fit to use the skaters I like.

Of course we all have our way to research and build lines. There are also many different ways to accumulate points. Ideally it’s not a good move to stack an entire line against the opposing goalie but one skater isn’t going to bury your goalie.

It’s all a process and over the years I’ve tried many different ideas and combinations. We all have our own way and that’s the beauty to this. I’m thankful for all the readers and comments I’ve received.

LAS VEGAS 1

Jonathan Marchessault L1 & PP1
Paul Stastny L1 & PP1
Reilly Smith L1 & PP2

LAS VEGAS 2

Max Pacioretty L1 & PP2
William Karlsson L2 & PP2
Mark Stone L2 & PP1

Marc-Andre Fleury has been cruising this season at 22-14-5. The Golden Knights welcome in the Washington Caps tonight. Vegas has been great at home but Washington has been strong on the road. Vegas out shot the Islanders last time out 20-4 in the second period then 15-9 in the third. Vegas is buzzing around on the offensive side of the ice and all those shots immaculate points. I can see a 4-3 final tonight. Plenty of points to go around in this one!

WASHINGTON 1

Alex Ovechkin L1 & PP1
Nicklas Backstrom L1 & PP1
Tom Wilson L1 & PP2

WASHINGTON 2

Jakub Vrana L2 & PP1
Lars Eller L2 & PP2
T.J. Oshie L2 & PP1

Washington is 19-7 their last 26 road games. The Caps are among one of the best teams in hockey this season. They are also 7-1 vs. Vegas in their last 8 meetings. There is too much value with the Caps here tonight. Expensive salaries and all. As stated about I envision a 4-3 or 5-3 final tonight. Capitols win!

FLORIDA 1

Jonathan Huberdeau L1 & PP1
Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1
Elias Lindholm L1 & PP1

Head to head the Panthers are 5-1 their last 6 games vs. the Sharks and 7-1 vs. the Sharks in San Jose. Both teams have picked up their play as of late and due to that fact SJ is favored at home. The Panthers however have a legitimate shot at putting some point together and getting into the playoffs. Might seem silly but I believe these factors play big roles in a hockey games! Florida wins 4-2 or 4-3.

CALGARY 1

Johnny Gaudreau L1 & PP1
Sean Monahan L1 & PP1
Elias Lindholm L1 & PP1

The Flames have lost 7 of their last 11 games. Not a real strong opening statement when pushing Calgary tonight. However, the Flames are scoring 2.8 goals as of late and converting on 20.8% of their power play opportunities recently. Lindholm leads the team in goals (27) and Gaudreau leads with assists (35) while Monahan has 146 total shots on goal. This line is very effective and should be given plenty of chances tonight home vs. the Ducks. The Flames have beat the Ducks twice this season with a combined score of 8-1! Calgary wins at home tonight 4-1!

NEW YORK ISLANDERS 1

Anders Lee L1 & PP1
Mathew Barzal L1 & PP1
Jordan Eberle L1 & PP1

Arizona welcomes the Islanders in tonight having lost 9 of their last 12 games. The Coyotes are giving up 2.7 goals a game and have been awful killing penalties. Arizona has given up three or more goals in their last 11 of 14 games. While New York has won 7 of the last 10 games vs. the Coyotes. From what I’ve seen so far today people are liking the Coyotes in this one after a great game vs. Washington. This doesn’t excite me! Lets zig when others zag! Roster NYI1 tonight! You won’t be sorry!

Here are a few one offs that deserve our attention tonight!

Steven Stamkos TB @ COL $8,400

Joonas Donski COL vs TB $3,700

Main 2/17

Here is a sample line up for BOTH Main and After Hours! Hang tight for an updated After Hours closer to the 6p lock!

After Hours 2/17

Please play responsibility and know these lines are to be used for entertainment purposes!
