It’s Friday eve! Or in other words, Thursday! My favorite day of the week! Thursday brings the joy of Friday followed by the weekend!

Some of you found great success last night and that makes me happy! Proud actually! As usual, that was last night and this is today. Tonight is a ten game schedule and upon further review is easier than it looks!

I’ve spent the better half of a day digging and combing through numbers and lines.

Just wanted to stop and thank you for reading and trusting me. Means a lot! Makes this even more fun to me!

FanDuel slate breakdown                                                          DraftKings

Main 7p (10)                                                                                 Main 7p (10)
Express 7:30p (3)                                                                        Turbo 8p (2)
Express II 8p (2)                                                                          Late 10:30p (2)
After Hours 10:30p (2)

MINNESOTA 2

Zach Parise L2 & PP1
Joel Eriksson Ek L2
Luke Kunin L2 & PP2

The Wild are 5-0 their last 5 games and 8-2 their last 10 road games! Minnesota can be trusted tonight after finding another gear and getting some great wins this week! San Jose has won 5 straight vs. MIN and that streak ends tonight! 3-2!

TAMPA BAY 1

Ondrej Palat L1 & PP2
Brayden Point L1 & PP1
Nikita Kucherov L1 & PP1

TAMPA BAY 2

Blake Coleman L2
Anthony Cirelli L2 & PP1
Alex Killorn L2 & PP2

Tampa Bay is going to chalky tonight. I’m cool with that seeing how MTL comes to TB tonight. Tampa has been one of the toughest teams on home ice. I would still exercise caution tonight seeing how TB has been a bit pedestrian lately.

NEW YORK ISLANDERS 1

Anders Lee L1 & PP1
Mathew Barzal L1 & PP2
Jordan Eberle L1 & PP2

This first line in NY is fast becoming a favorite of mine! NYI have won 8 of their last 9 vs. OTT. The Senators are 6-13 their last 19 home games. The Islanders have dominated OTT recently going 6-0 vs. them. NYI get a win tonight in OTT 4-2 or 4-1.

CHICAGO 1

Dominik Kubalik L1 & PP1
Jonathon Toews L1 & PP1
Brandon Saad L1 & PP2

Edmonton is in Chicago tonight and I’ve gone back and forth with this one. Both teams have played really well recently, winning 3 straight. EDM is only 3-7 their last 10 games in CHI. I’m going to take a shot with CHI1 tonight given the 6.5 goal over/under. I can see a 5-4 with goals to go around for both teams.

LOS ANGELES 1

Alex Iafallo L1 & PP1
Anze Kopitar L1 & PP1
Dustin Brown L1 & PP1

The Kings have been well recently especially at home. The Maple Leafs are in LA tonight having just lost to the Sharks. We touched on West Coast road trips yesterday in our live Morning Skate video. TOR has been leaky on defense recently and I have a feeling LA1 gets a few goals tonight. Will they win? Don’t really care, we just want fantasy points!

EDMONTON 1

Tyler Ennis L1 & PP1
Connor McDavid L1 & PP1
Josh Archibald L1

I’m going to take a shot with EDM1 tonight given the 6.5 goal over/under. I can see a 5-4 with goals to go around for both teams.

PHILADELPHIA 2

Scott Laughton L2
Kevin Hayes L2 & PP2
Travis Konecny L2 & PP1

I mentioned PHI2 yesterday in Hot Puck and every skater on this line scored a goal last night! Back to the well tonight! Carolina has won 5 of 7 vs. Philly. The Flyers are on back end of a back-to-back but are just too hot right now! I can’t pass PHI2 up tonight! They win 4-1 or 4-2 tonight!

FLORIDA 1

Jonathan Huberdeau L1 & PP1
Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1
Evgenii Dadonov L1 & PP1

Another game I’ve gone back and forth on. Boston skates to FLA tonight and they are rolling. Here’s how I see it, the Bruins are very good and they elevate the play of the opposing team. FLA will have to keep pace with BOS which is a good thing! FLA1 is reasonably priced and should provide you major pop. 10+ points for each skater tonight!

PITTSBURGH 2

Patrick Marleau L2
Evgeni Malkin L2 & PP1
Bryan Rust L2 & PP1

The Penguins are in Buffalo tonight and by the looks of it have played awful on the road! 0-5 their last road games while Buffalo is 4-0 their last 4 home games. Very uplifting speech for PIT right? The Penguins are in need of wins while BUF has been ice cold. Aside from Malkin, PIT2 is quite cheap!

TORONTO 1

Zach Nyman L1 & PP2
Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

TORONTO 2

William Nylander L2 & PP1
John Tavares L2 & PP1
Alexander Kerfoot L2 & PP2

If you miss dinner tonight it’s cool! You can eat some TOR chalk for dinner!

Back by popular demand, Hot Pucking Stacks presents our lightening round of One Offs!

Adrian Kempe LA L3 & PP1

Mike Hoffman FLA L2 & PP1

Patrick Hornqvist PIT L3 & PP1

Victor Hedman TB L1 & PP2

Hot Pucking Stacks 3/3/20 (4 FREE lines)

Hot Pucking Stacks is back in full effect today! Last night was a success! Our line came alive late and finished with 218.6 points! As you can see below Leon Draisaitl scored four times and put up a whopping 67.7 points!

FD Main 3-2 – 218.6

That was last night and were moving on. There is a large ten game NHL schedule tonight. 10 games, 20 teams and 60+ different line combinations. When I say that out loud its quite overwhelming.

No worries! I’m always happy to give you my favorite stacks and show my process! Enough wasting your time! Lets get it moving! Hot Pucking Stacks is here.

FanDuel slate breakdown                                DraftKings slate

Main 7p (10)                                                        Main 7p (10)
Express 8p (2)                                                     Turbo 8p (4)
ExpressII 830p (2)                                               Late 10p (2)
After Hours 10p (2)

As you can see on FanDuel they have broken it into three separate TWO game slates. While DraftKings only has ONE two game slate. As you know, I’m a huge fan of the smaller slates.

PITTSBURGH 1

Jason Zucker L1 & PP1
Sidney Crosby L1 & PP1
Conor Sheary L1 & PP2

PITTSBURGH 2

Patrick Marleau L2
Evgeni Malkin L2 & PP1
Bryan Rust L2 & PP2

Ottawa has been bad all year while PIT has lost six in a row! The Penguins have been due for a bounce back for about a week now. I have 0.0 expectations for OTT tonight while I expect PIT to hammer them. PIT is a massive home favorite with a 3.7 goal implication. Everything is set up for a Penguins blow out here. You know what they say about expectations? They lead to resentments!

MINNESOTA 1

Gerald Mayhew L1 & PP2
Eric Staal L1 & PP1
Kevin Fiala L1 & PP1

The Wild are home favorites tonight against Nashville. Pure gut call here but the Predators must be exhausted and embarrassed. EDM put up 8 goals against them last night. MIN1 is cheap with the fresher legs.

BOSTON 2

Nick Ritche L2
David Krejci L2 & PP2
Ondrej Kase L2 & PP2

The Bruins are in Tampa night and should be a blast! In a strategic move here BOS2 sees all the action tonight. This is how I look at it, BOS1 vs. TB1 will cancel each other out leaving a clear path to points for BOS2. Boston is 0-4 last 5 vs. TB and 0-5 the last 5 in Tampa. I mean c’mon! If you play roulette and black hits 5 in a row you bet on red right? BOS2 is just that! I’m betting on them!

TORONTO 1

Zach Hyman L1 & PP2
Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

TORONTO 2

William Nylander L2 & PP1
John Tavares L2 & PP1
Alexander Kerfoot L2 & PP2

1030p Eastern the Maple Leafs play in San Jose. TOR is 4-0 their last 4 games vs. SJ BUT a measly 1-6 their last 7 in San Jose. Could tonight be a trap for TOR? The Leafs have had no success in SJ but much like BOS how long can these trends continue? TOR is the better team and fighting for the playoffs. I like both lines but more of a mix-n-match situation. I full TOR stack tonight in SJ makes me nervous. You’ve been warned!

NEW YORK ISLANDERS 1

Anders Lee L1 & PP1
Mathew Barzal L1 & PP1
Jordan Eberle L1 & PP1

Now we’re talking! The Islanders have been playing losing hockey but have been better at home. Tonight Montreal comes to town in what should be an odd one. By odd I mean a higher scoring game then we think. 5-4 or 4-3 final. With all the other fire power and top-notch teams playing tonight we are in a position to sneak one past with NYI1.

ST. LOUIS 1

Jaden Schwartz L1 & PP1
Ryan O’Reilly L1 & PP1
Brayden Schenn L1 & PP1

The Blue play the Rangers in NY tonight backed by a 7 game winning streak. During that span they are averaging 3.2 goals a game and have been successful on 23.9% of the power play. As a DFS player it’s wise to ride the wave and follow the hot hand! 4-1 or a 4-2 final tonight.

WINNIPEG 1

Kyle Connor L1 & PP1
Mark Scheifele L1 & PP1
Blake Wheeler L1 & PP1

Admittedly a lazy choice on my part. Any bum in a basement would tell you to roster WPG1. All three men play on L1 and first power play unit. They all average 19+ minutes a game. On the surface it’s a no-brainer vs. a horrible road team in Buffalo. The Sabers are awful on the road. Head-to-head BUF is 5-13 against WPG. 4-2 or a 3-1 final tonight in WPG.

DALLAS 2

Roope Hintz L2 & PP2
Jason Dickinson L2
Denis Gurjanov L2 & PP2

Edmonton looked fantastic last night in NSH but as stats show they aren’t good on the second leg of a back-to-back. Dallas is fresh and I expect EDM to be exhausted and burned out from last nights game. DAL2 makes for a great compliment with a higher priced stack!

Back by popular demand, Hot Pucking Stacks presents our lightening round of One Offs!

Joel Eriksson Ek MIN L2

Brock Nelson NYI L2 & PP2

David Perron STL L2 & PP1

Patrick Kane CHI L2 & PP1

Max Pacioretty LVK L2 & PP1

Kailer Yamamoto EDM L2 & PP2

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/7/20 (FREE line)

Little later then normal tonight but promise it’ll be worth it! Sometimes are real life get in the way of our fantasy lives!

Tonight is nice and easy! Four games and eight teams. Nice and easy. Right? Well there is a lot less to process after yesterdays 12 game slate.

Tonight we’re going to pay attention to detail. Power play percentages, shots on goal, home vs. road records and hits. Although hits don’t show up as points on a score sheet they play a huge role in time of possession. They cause turn over’s, which add up to scoring chances.

Attention to detail! It can lead to a slippery slope but a slop that leads to goals and fantasy points!

DALLAS 1

Jamie Benn L1 & PP1
Roope Hintz L1
Tyler Seguin L1 & PP1

In the last 70 contests between the Stars and Wild the home team is 48-22. Dallas has struggled offensively as of late but they have a terrific defense. Only giving up 134 goals this season.

COLUMBUS 1

Nick Foligno L1 & PP2
Pierre-Luc Dubois L1 & PP1
Oliver Bjorkstrand L1 & PP1

The Blue Jackets leader in points is Pierre-Luc Dubois with 42. He’s also the team leader in assists with 25. Elvis Merzlikins, CBJ’s goalie has been outstanding this season. 11-6-4 with 4 total shutouts! The Wings are averaging 2.04 goals a game while giving up 3.81 goals. That’s a recipe for disaster. The Red Wings have lost to CBJ 4-2 in two straight. Look for more of the same. The over/under here is 5.5 and I could see the Blue Jackets doing that on their own! Blue Jackets put up 5 goals in this one. Line 1 and PP1, pick your poison!

NEW YORK 2

Artemi Panarin L2 & PP1
Filip Chytil L2
Jesper Fast L2

Buffalo has scored 2.83 goals a game this season while giving up 3.13. The Rangers have scored 3.29 goals a game while giving up 3.21 goals a game. That’s quite even for both sides. The Rangers have beaten the Sabers in 3 straight games. Want to know the average score? 5-1.67! New York has dominated Buffalo recently. NYR2 gets in on the fun and they win 5-2!

TORONTO 1

Zach Hymen L1 & PP2
Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

Toronto has scored on average 3.57 goals a game while their opponent tonight, Anaheim Ducks, give up 3.06 goals a game. The Maple Leafs have won the last 3 vs. the Ducks at an average of 5-2. Toronto at home vs. Anaheim who isn’t very good at home. 4-1 final in this one!

TORONTO 2

Alexander Kerfoot L2
John Tavares L2 & PP1
William Nylander L2 & PP1

See above! Promise I’m not lazy!

MINNESOTA 4

Ryan Donato L4
Mikko Koivu L4
Ryan Hartman L4

The Wild are in Dallas tonight and the Stars have given up 7 goals in their last two games! Minnesota is 48-22 in their last 70 meetings vs. the Stars. I don’t expect them to win but I do see 6 goals scored in this one tonight. 4-2 or a 4-3 final. Which would be just fine with me!

TOR1/CBJ1

Here is a sample line and what my lines will be looking like tonight! Please play safely and know this line is just for fun! So take it easy!

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/5/20 (TWO FREE lineups)

Thanks for joining me again on Hot Pucking Stacks! Last night was wild! Most massive slates are nuts! The Washington Capitals won and Ovi had a hat trick! Montreal 2 had a great evening, 2 goals, 1 assist and 8 SOG! Calgary 2 was quite, Johnny scored once but it was a flop on such a big slate. Tampa Bay had a big night stats wise. TB1 accumulated 2 goals, 3 assists and 4 SOG. My New York Islander PP1 was a massive flop. Blue Jackets first line was even worse! Between the three skaters they only had 6 SOG.

With NHL DFS we have to forget fast and move ahead quickly! So tonight that’s what we will do! It’s a small two game schedule and there is a clear path to points!

Toronto Maple Leafs @ New York Rangers
Boston Bruins @ Chicago Blackhawk’s

At first glance I think its best to stack the TOR @ NYR game! The over/under implied goal total is 7! That’s a massive number in hockey terms! So as you will see shortly any combo of Maple Leafs and Rangers will do! Obviously we will want both top lines. We should also get creative with stacking those lesser known lines!

TORONTO 1

Zach Hyman L1
Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

The Maple Leafs have the highest implied goal total tonight at 3.5. It would be really tough to fade Toronto tonight. Their top line is expensive and rightfully so. If you’re going to spend up tonight then choose Toronto 1!

TORONTO 2

Alexander Kerfoot L2
John Tavares L2 & PP1
William Nylander L2 & PP1

The Maple Leafs second is as effective as any second line in the NHL. For purpose of DFS they are a tad cheaper and you get awesome exposure to the top power play.

NEW YORK 1

Artemi Panarin L2 & PP1
Ryan Strome L2 & PP1
Jesper Fast L2

The Rangers have an implied goal total at 3.2. Lets follow suit and stack their first or second line. Or we can do a sweet combo as listed below!

NEW YORK 2

Phil DiGiuseppi L1
Mika Zibanejad L1 & PP1
Pavel Buchnevich L1 & PP1

The Rangers first line is ridiculously cheap aside from Mika. So its give you the chance to mix and match the NYR first power play unit too! There is a lot of room to move around in this one!

BOSTON 2

Jake DeBrusk L2 & PP1
David Krejci L2 & PP2
Karson Kuhlman L2

The Bruins second line tonight is very juicy far as value is concerned. All three are priced perfectly. With a total goal implication of 3.2 it’s a safe bet this line scores a goal or two. Given the need for a value line tonight with the expensive prices for TOR1 this line fits very well!

CHICAGO 2

Brandon Saad L2
Kirby Dach L2 & PP1
Patrick Kane L2 & PP1

Any line that has Patrick Kane skating in is always a go! This guy averages 1.22 point per game. Meaning, the other two skaters on the second line stand a chance at assists, goals and a healthy +/-. Much like the NYR2, Kane’s line mates are super cheap!

TOR2/CHI2

Tonight will be a nice exercise in double dipping power play lines and lines with or without their star skater. Here is a photo of the different lines and combinations and how I’m stacking them tonight!

Line combos

Here are a few sample lineups I’ve been toying with since last night! Use these for fun and please play responsibly!

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/3/20 (TWO FREE lineups)

That was fun! The Super Bowl is over! Congratulations to the Kansas City Chiefs and the great state of Kansas! Ha! Uh oh! The President of the United States and the leader of the free world isn’t 100% sure where Kansas City is. We all make mistakes right?

With football officially over its time to switch our attention to hockey full time! Tonight is a beautiful three game slate.

There is also a lot of fire power on the ice tonight. Along with the Red Wings. Say it with me now, “STACK AGAINST THE RED WINGS”

Jokes aside, let me help guide you through this tiny Monday slate. No mistakes can be made tonight. Stud players and fantastic line combinations are a plenty! Lets make sure we pick the right ones!

TORONTO 1

Zach Hyman L1
Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

The Maple Leafs have the highest implied goal total tonight at 3.6. It would be really tough to fade Toronto tonight. Their top line is expensive and rightfully so. If youre going to spend up tonight please choose Toronto 1!

TORONTO 2

Alexander Kerfoot L2
John Tavares L2 & PP1
William Nylander L2 & PP1

The Maple Leafs second is as effective as any second line in the NHL. For purposed of DFS they are a tad cheaper and you get awesome exposure to the top power play.

PHILADELPHIA 2

Joel Farabee L2
Sean Couturier L2
Jakub Voracek L2

The Flyers are in Detroit this evening and its only right we pick on them. Philly has the second highest implied goal total tonight at 3.3. Their second line is the way to go. Medium priced with the ability to put up major points for your roaster.

FLORIDA 2

Brett Connolly L2
Vincent Trocheck L2 & PP1
Mike Hoffman L2 & PP1

This line could be the sneakiest combo of the night. It’s perfectly priced. The Panthers are in Toronto tonight and will have to keep pace with the Leafs. Two of these men see time on the top power play unit. This game is going to be faced place and with an over/under of 6.5 goals you’ll want a piece of that!

DALLAS 1

Jamie Benn L1 & PP1
Tyler Seguin L1 & PP1
Rooke Hinte L1

These three men are priced above average and it makes sense. The Stars are a road favorite in New York tonight. Another face paced game with massive point potential. I like Dallas here for three total goals.

Here are two sample lines and how I’m fitting in my stacks. Per usual, these lines are for fun and please play responsibly!
