2020 Dynasty Must Haves (all 32 teams)

2020 Dynasty Must-Haves (all 32 teams)
Chris Robin https://twitter.com/DetroitBeastie

I have always taken great pride in my writing. I have also taken great pride in my relationships with my readers. When I sat down to write my most recent article, Dynasty Assets I wanted to take the idea of fantasy assets and value to another level. I’m aware of the very thin line between discussing asset vs. value.

Dynasty Assets was met with some obvious questions and concerns. In turn, it sparked another idea. Along with an obligation to explain my thought process. If you missed find it here. https://www.dfscheatsheet.com/2020-dynasty-assets-all-32-teams/nfl/05/

In terms of fantasy football we all have our own ideas and thoughts. We also share some of the same ideals and fandom. Since day one my idea was to always engage readers and spark unique ideas and conversation. Push our limits and boundaries when discussing our ideas.

When it comes to fantasy football every body wants their opinion heard. Some more than others. Along the way we must learn to respect everyone regardless of the situation. Treat everyone with a positive attitude and with an outlook of optimism.

Let’s get back to the topic at hand. Dynasty asset vs. fantasy value. I tried my best in the opening of my previous article to explain it. I think it best to explain further. Just know I’ve heard all the comments and spirited opinions in relation to the idea.

The best way for me to put it is an excerpt from Dynasty Assets, “For example, when you scroll down and get to the Baltimore Ravens the obvious choice is Lamar Jackson right? Yes and no. He is far and away the best fantasy asset to own in BAL but there is absolutely no value there due to his ADP and trade value.” Let me elaborate please. Lamar Jackson is the unquestioned starting quarterback in Baltimore. The reigning NFL MVP. He is also the biggest fantasy asset for the Ravens.

When we get into the value portion of Lamar Jackson I mentioned the fact he has no value due to his ADP and trade value. I also mentioned the same fact for a few other NFL players such as Christian McCaffery. Here’s my thought process about that. If you own a player of CMC, Mahomes and/or Jackson’s caliber and receive a trade offer would you accept? I know what you’re think now. Depends on what the offer is. Is there truly an offer on this Earth that you’d accept to trade away any of these men? The mistake I made in this process was thinking my idea would be universally accepted. I see the error in that now.

Moving on, I’d like to clear the air and given a more definite dynasty asset article. Clean cut, precise and to the point!

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray is the dynasty must have in the Cardinals organization. Of course they now have DeAndre Hopkins and with the temperance of Kenyan Drake last season we could all mildly argue this topic but why? How many of you have either seen or heard where Kyler is going is super flex drafts? Pretty high right?

Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley

The Atlanta Falcons boast a deep and rich offense. Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Hayden Hurst, Jake Matthews and now newly signed Todd Gurley. Yet the dynasty must have in Atlanta is Calvin Ridley. Most fantasy players are extremely excited about his 2020 season. Rightfully so given his age and past seasons success.

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson

If you were to ask a casual NFL fan they’d say, “Wow Baltimore has a good team!” For people like us, in-depth fantasy football players, we’d say, “Holy crap this team is loaded with young stud talent from top to bottom!” With that being said think I speak for all of us when I say Lamar Jackson is the biggest dynasty must have in Baltimore.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen

I’ve always said the NFL is more fun when the Bills and/or Cincinnati is good. That being said, Buffalo is primed and looking to win the AFC East in 2020. The team currently has a number of young, talented and hungry kids. Their quarter back, Josh Allen, leading the charge. Josh Allen finds himself as a top-10 fantasy QB headed into the 2020 season and I couldn’t agree more. Allen is the must have dynasty asset in Buffalo. This decision was made easier given all the confusion about the RB position. Singletary or Moss? Moss or Singletary?

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffery

Would it be lazy of me if I just copied and pasted what I wrote about Carolina in my last article? What you call lazy I call efficient! Regardless, I’m not going to. The Panthers must have fantasy asset is Christian McCaffery. It’s that simple. Moving on, next!

Chicago Bears RB David Montgomery

The Chicago Bears have long been a thorn in the side of the Detroit Lions. There has been a lot of talk about CHI and their starting QB situation. Is Mitchell really the guy there? Chicago brought in Nick Foles but for what? To light a fire under Trubisky? Or to take over the starting QB gig? There are no answers at this time. Only thing I can say for certain is 2nd year RB David Montgomery is the dynasty asset to own in Chicago. Another guy people have been wishy-washy about on social media. I firmly believe D-Mont breaks out in 2020 after the Bears finally figure out how to use him! Early and often!

Cincinnati Bengal’s RB Joe Mixon

As a Detroit Lions fan, feel as if I’m allowed to feel pain for other historically bad NFL franchises. Cincinnati has had some glory days and I believe they are on the upswing. Number one overall draft selection Joe Burrow should be the man for many years. That being said, Joe Mixon is the dynasty asset to own in CIN. He’s an RB1 and makes for a great fit in any format!

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb

As I’ve said before and what I’ve gathered from all of you the Browns are an odd bunch. Does anyone remember this time last year? All the hype and excitement surrounded Cleveland? Well we all know how that worked out. 3rd in the AFC North at 6-10. Baker Mayfield had an awful season. Let’s fast forward to the 2020 season shall we? There is little to no chatter about the Browns yet they still have the same team. So where do we turn for the biggest fantasy asset? Baker? Odell? Landry? Hunt? All could and should be great fantasy assets in 2020 but there can only be one stud fantasy asset. That player is Nick Chubb! On the heels of 1,400+ rushing yard season Chubb enters the season as strong top-10 RB and I don’t expect that to change much!

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliot

This is where it gets fun! On paper the Dallas Cowboys offense looks mighty good! On the field it should be even better! In terms of a dynasty asset we want young upside kids right? Along the lines of CeeDee Lamb. Of course but there’s no getting around Ezekiel Elliot here. No way no how! Zeke is still very young! Only 24 years old as he enters his 5th season as the Dallas running back. Not trying to get ahead of myself but it’s quite clear he’s a lock for 1,200 all purpose yards and 7 total touchdowns. He will turn 25 in late July but that’s not issue for me and shouldn’t be for you. Zeke Elliot is the Dallas Cowboys biggest dynasty asset and a top-10 dynasty asset overall.

Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy

Personally speaking the Denver Broncos are in a good spot! Their first two picks in the 2020 draft were wide receivers. Jerry Jeudy 15th overall followed by K.J. Hamler in the 2nd round, 46th overall. Just a quick recap! So as we look up and down the Denver roster there are a lot of bright spots. Drew Lock has hit a wave of hype this spring. Melvin Gordon III and Philip Lindsay will team up in the backfield. No matter where I look or what I do I’m always brought back to Jerry Jeudy. The 6’1 15th overall pick is going to shine in the Mile High city. I’m not one to argue or cause problems but don’t think I’ll have any issues telling you all Jerry Jeudy is the fantasy asset to own in Denver!

Detroit Lions WR Kenny Golladay

I just going to say it. Kenny Golladay is the biggest asset to own in dynasty. If you remember I mentioned D’Andre Swift as the Lions biggest asset last month. Since then I’ve noticed Swift climbing draft boards while Kenny G’s value has remained the same. In some cases it’s dropped a little bit. My thought process here is the fact you have two kids to choose from. One was just drafted while the other lead the league in TD receptions last season. I’m sorry I’m not sorry but I’m going to side with the guy who has done well and quite frankly, still has room to grow. Maybe this is a different story next year but let’s cross that bridge when we come to it!

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams

You might think of Green Bay as vanilla and boring for fantasy purposes. I agree to a certain extent but they have a handful of guys that are lights out. Correct me if I’m wrong but all I’ve heard this spring is how Aaron Jones will quickly be replaced by rookie RB A.J. Dillon. I’ve mentioned this a time or two and have made my opinion clear. In terms of the biggest fantasy asset to own in Green Bay it’s wide-receiver Davante Adams. Adams is easily a top-10 WR and is hovering in that top-10/15 overall territory. 2019 was up and down due to a turf toe issue and fell shy of 1,000 receiving yards. That being said he’s being under valued in some fantasy circles. Don’t make that mistake! Davante is a lock for 120 targets and I fully expect 150+ targets. Big season ahead for Davante!

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you know DeAndre Hopkins is gone. Houston has added David Johnson and Brandin Cooks but how excited are we for them? Meh right? This is Deshaun Watson’s team. Make no mistake about it. Unless Bill O’Brien finds away to screw it up and trade him away too. Highly doubt it but for the sake of my writing thought it’d be funny to mention. Deshaun Watson is the must have asset on this team! Plain and simple!

Indianapolis Colts Rookie RB Jonathon Taylor

I apologize for getting this far into the article and not mentioning an IDP! If you’re reading this then you know how into IDP I am! Maybe it’s taken me this long to mention an individual defensive player for two reasons. One, IDP is nowhere close to as popular as a SF league. Two, realistically who is going to assign and/or keep an IDP over an offensive player? Both true statements but also not many defensive players are as good as Colts LB Darius Leonard! The must have dynasty must have on this team is no doubt rookie RB Jonathon Taylor. Leonard is no slouch either! Just wanted that to be know! An honorable mention if you will!

Jacksonville Jaguars WR D.J. Chark

Jacksonville is a perplexing situation for fantasy purposes. There are many cases to be made for a few of their offensive players. Minshew, Fournette, Chark, Westbrook and rookie WR Laviska Shenault. In any case the most must-have asset in Jacksonville is D.J. Chark!

Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

The defending 2019 Super Bowl Champions boast one heck of a returning roster in 2020! Their offense is absolutely loaded. Yet the must-have dynasty asset is as simple as it gets! Patrick Mahomes Kansas City’s QB is set up for many years of real life success and in turn, fantasy football dominance! Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill and rookie draft darling Clyde Edwards-Helaire are all on my radar here but this choice is a no-brainer. No argument number one choice.

Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs

I created a social media poll as part of research for this article in regards to this very organization. Josh Jacobs vs. Henry Ruggs! It was a blowout in Jacobs favor. Rightfully so! Josh is 22yrs-117 days old. While Ruggs is 21yrs-135 days old. There is a very small difference in age while Jacobs has already had a fantastic season under his belt. Josh’s rookie season was outstanding (1,150yds & 8 TD’s). There is no doubt in my mind and there should be none in yours wither. Josh Jacobs is the dynasty must-have in Vegas.

Los Angeles Rams rookie RB Cam Akers

What side of the fence are you on when it comes to Cam Akers vs. Darrell Henderson? As it stands now hopefully you know my stance on all this rookie RB hype. It has been out of control but I get it. All sports have been suspended and we’ve all had too much time on our hands. Back to LAC and their offensive situation. Goff, Woods and Cooper Kupp are the vets and mainstays in this Ram’s offense. Talking dynasty it’s always out with the old and in with the new. Meaning, Cam Akers is the dynasty darling and must-have Rams player!

Los Angeles Chargers rookie QB Justin Herbert

Word on the street and in the fantasy community is that LAC are a mess and in disarray. They let Phil Rivers walk and now plan on using QB Tyrod Taylor to open the season. Melvin Gordon III is gone and in Denver. Meaning, it’s Austin Eklers backfield. Keenan Allen is still their WR1, so I disagree slightly when saying the Chargers are a mess. The biggest take here with LAC is the QB they drafted in April. 6’6 kid from Oregon, Justin Herbert! He is the dynasty must-have on the Chargers. I’ve had a few great conversations with followers on social media about the timeline and development of Herbert. It’s all speculation and personal preference but I do firmly believe Justin starts a handful of games later in the season and doesn’t look back!

Miami Dolphins rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa

The Dolphins are trending up. They had a fantastic 2020 Draft and as of now they have a whopping 11 draft picks in 2021. This time next year they should be bursting at the seems with young stud talent. With QB Tua Tagovailoa leading the charge. Let’s not spend too much time on this one. I know, you know and we all know Tua is the must-have dynasty asset on this team. I’m excited to see what he can do. If he does what he’s supposed to then Howard, Breida, Parker and Gesicki should all benefit and become better! Really looking forward to the future roster of this team!

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook

With the recent news of Dalvin Cook holding out where do we go with our rankings, projections and must own advice? I’m so lost and freaking out! NOT! Wouldn’t it be awful if I actually lived like that? I’m not a mind reader and I don’t have a crystal ball so I have no answer to the Cook situation. Until told otherwise there is little to no change in my belief Dalvin Cook is the must-have dynasty asset in MIN. I could see a setting where rookie WR Justin Jefferson gets into this conversation. Maybe a year or two from now. Just know he’s on the radar!

New England Patriots QB Jarrett Stidham

Feel as if I could copy and paste what I wrote for New England in my last article. Really though, what does life look like in New England after Tom Brady. Should we now refer to their seasons as ATB? After Tom Brady? So this season will be 2020 ATB. Is that offensive? Who knows, just know it’s a joke. Lets get back on track here. Honestly I’m excited to find out who the most must-have dynasty asset is in New England. Am I able to show love to IDP here? Sure I am! It’s my article! Stephon Gilmore is the must-have dynasty asset for those of you who play IDP. I love it, it makes sense but it’s rude to all of you don’t. I’ve been going back and forth between Damien Harris and Jarrett Stidham. I’m going to give the edge to Stidham here seeing how he should be their starting QB in 2020. For all of you, “Tom Brady was a system quarterback” people this one should make you make you happy. If Bill and Robert Kraft made Tom Brady star then what’s stopping them from making Jarret one?

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas

New Orleans heads into 2020 as one of the favorites in the NFC. Rightfully so. Long as Drew Brees is their QB it will be that way. Hopefully NO has started to look ahead into the future at the QB position. That’s a topic for another day and time. In terms of a must-have dynasty asset lets discuss this. On the table here is RB1 Alvin Kamara and WR1 Michael Thomas. I decided to ask social media. This is what I received!

@Odinbn said, “Kamara, he can create for himself.” He went on to say, “MT will only go as far as Brees can take him.” https://twitter.com/Odinbn

@acenydet said, “Give me Kamara. 3 down backs that can catch are harder to find then superstar wide receivers.” https://twitter.com/acenydet

@FantasyFootBub replied, “I’m 100% taking Kamara, still has low miles on him just a complete stud.” https://twitter.com/FantasyFootBub

@ChrisMo2413 chimed in with, “Michael Thomas. Now that everyone and their uncles are sharing touchdowns scored in New Orleans. It really does limit Kamara’s upside as a fantasy asset. Borderline top-5 instead of the unanimous 1 like MT.” https://twitter.com/ChrisMo2413

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara

Thanks to everyone to replied and gave their thoughts!

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley

Hear me out here, just for a sentence or two. Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley right? Really the only two guys that you could even mention here. We all know the importance teams place on a stud QB while a young stud RB’s gets the shaft. A la Le’Veon Bell, Melvin Gordon and now Dalvin Cook. Seeing how Danny Dimes and Saquon were drafted a season apart it makes sense they are the same age. Only separated by 118 days Saquon is a tad older and the must-have dynasty asset on the Giants roster! I had you for a minute! Did you think I was going to give the nod to Danny Jones? Nah, you know me better than that!

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold

Another team that’s been down a while, the New York Jets. Yet another team on the rise. Maybe I’m crazy. Maybe I’m stupid? Maybe I think outside the box? I’ll choose the latter option and tell you how excited I am for the Jets and Sam Darnold. The decision to draft massive Louisville OT Mekhi Becton 11th overall followed by Baylor WR Denzel Mims at 59th overall is very telling. You know what it told me specifically? The Jets organizations commitment to Sam Darnold. I implore you to make that same commitment on your dynasty fantasy football teams. Darnold is the must-have dynasty asset on the New York Jets. J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!

Philadelphia Eagles QB Carson Wentz

If you remember correctly in my last article Dynasty Assets I mentioned Jalen Hurts as the Eagles biggest fantasy asset. I caught some heat for it but navigated around it cause it was a logical case. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to write another article explaining my case and the difference I have between asset/value. So on the flip side who do you think the biggest must-have dynasty player the Eagles have? Jalen Reagor maybe? I’m sure we could all argue that but I’m not looking to fight and it doesn’t make sense given the fact Carson Wentz in the Eagles QB. I’ve long expressed my distain for Wentz but that’s my problem, not yours. I’m not in the business of giving crap advice thus hurting your research and fantasy teams. Carson Wentz is the must-have dynasty asset in Philadelphia for now. I’m aware of the massive contract he signed (4yrs $128 million) but does anyone else think he’s on thin ice? Woah woah woah! Easy now! Never said I felt that way! Just a thought I had! Worth a thought!

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Connor

Another sticky situation when it comes picking the right guy here. So lets talk it out! Lets cut to the chase shall we? Juju Smith-Schuster or James Connor? Hate to say this but who had the worst season in 2019? Lets recap what each did in 2018 real quick. Juju, 1,426 receiving yards and 7 total TD’s. James Connor 973 rushing yards and 13 total TD’s. In 2019 Juju started 12 games and had 552 yards and 3 TD’s. While Connor only started 10 games and produced 464 yards with 4 total TD’s. Safe to say they both had forgettable 2019 seasons right? Personally I think Juju was the bigger let down. After Antonio Brown freaked out and left the fantasy community was excited to see Juju as Pittsburgh’s WR1. That didn’t happen. So where do we turn for the biggest must-have on the Steelers team? In terms of IDP value this team is loaded with talent but I do believe James Connor is still the biggest must-have in Pittsburgh. There’s been a ton of buzz around rookie RB Anthony MacFarland and even speedster WR Dionate Johnson but again, James Connor is still the guy to own in Pittsburgh!

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle

The defending NFC Champions are loaded with talent. I expect them to compete for another Super Bowl spot in 2020. When it comes to a fantasy must-have talent only one guy comes to mind. George Kittle! Almost positive no one is going to argue me here. It’s that simple right?

Seattle Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf

In my last article I mentioned Russell Wilson being the biggest fantasy asset on the Seahawks. So again you may ask, “what’s the difference between biggest fantasy asset vs. must-have dynasty asset?” I explained myself in the opening but to elaborate a little it can all be explained with the format of your league. Re-draft vs. dynasty. Dynasty is long term, multiple seasons and beyond compared to re-draft just one season. Dynasty owners can be very fickle and with Russ being 31 years old some people don’t want to buy as much as others. It’s crazy right? Now enter D.K. Melcalf, the 6’4 229lb 22 year old stud. DK had a fantastic rookie season and dynasty owners are licking their chops thinking about his future stat lines. Consider me one of those dynasty owners! DK Metcalf is the must-have dynasty asset to have from the Seattle Seahawks!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin

As the days fly by and summer approaches the excitement/hype for the Buccaneers grows. I think it’s well warranted. Don’t you? They just added arguably the best QB of all time to pair with two stud WR’s. So it’s pretty to easy for me to tell you that Chris Godwin is the must-have dynasty asset in Tampa.

Tennessee Titan WR A.J. Brown

Took some heat recently for my assessment of the Titans in my previous article for not mentioning A.J. Brown. I’ll admit, I left him out completely. Wasn’t the right time to mention him. I did that on purpose due to the thought process in my past article. Now we fast forward a week and I’m giving must own dynasty assets. Enter A.J.Brown! The Titans played in the AFC Championship last season and were given credit for destroying the New England Patriots dynasty! This team is much more than some Cinderella story. They have become dangerous and dynamic. If they can continue to mold and gel with each other expect another deep playoff run in 2020 and expect A.J. Brown to anchor fantasy teams at WR for years to come!

Washington Redskins WR Terry McLaurin

I’ve always been honest with all of you. So why stop now? If you missed what I said about the Redskins in my last article here it is! I have a secret to tell all of you. As a little boy in Detroit the Redskins were my second favorite team. I only say that as a diversion due to the fact I have no idea where to start with this team and it’s fantasy prospects. I’m not a fan of Dwanye Haskins. Derrius Guice can’t stay healthy to save his soul. So right off the bat two guys I think we need to see prove something before we’re all in on them right? So as of right now I’ve taken you through 31 professional football teams and I’ve given you an asset and a lot of value. Yet here we are with Washington and I have nothing to give you. Is that my fault for not doing my job or the Redskins organization for not doing theirs? So continuing on with secrets and honesty here’s another secret. I’m fully aware Terry McLaurin is the biggest dynasty stud/must-have on the Redskins team. I was trying to funny and witty with my comments here. A few people took me too serious and here we are! Scary Terry aka F1 aka Terry Mclaurin is the must-have dynasty asset in Washington! Happy now?

2020 Dynasty Assets (all 32 teams)

2020 Dynasty Assets! (All 32 Teams)
Chris Robin https://twitter.com/DetroitBeastie

It’s been an odd off-season. I’m sure we can all agree on that. What hasn’t changed is the love and excitement for mock drafting and dynasty startups! Constant rankings, projections and polls have lit up social media.

My idea here isn’t new but I do plan on making it fresh! With the official start of summer dead ahead how about we talk about a few things that will last well into the summer and fall! Dynasty assets!

Mentioning a player from each NFL franchise that I consider the best fantasy asset is the plan!

Full disclosure, I got in bed last night and could not stop thinking about this article and the direction I wanted to take it. I thought two things. Do I want this to be about long term dynasty value or a player from each team that is the biggest long term fantasy asset? Might not sound too different to you but my idea is to touch on both points with each NFL team discussed.

For example, when you scroll down and get to the Baltimore Ravens the obvious choice is Lamar Jackson right? Yes and no. He is far and away the best fantasy asset to own in BAL but there is absolutely no value there due to his ADP and trade value. Does that make sense? Hopefully! Let’s have some fun!

Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray

As far as immediate dividends it’s Kenyan Drake here right? When you look further its all about Kyler Murray as the Cardinals QB1. Kyler holds the biggest piece of dynasty importance in Arizona. Be careful here though due to his ADP. Murray not be the best value here in 2020 due to his high price tag but it will pay off long term!

Atlanta Falcons TE Hayden Hurst

We all know who the big dogs are in Atlanta, Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. In terms of high dynasty value that ship has sailed. Make no mistake! Ryan and Jones still hold a fantastic amount of fantasy value, dynasty value, not so much. I’m looking at Calvin Ridley and Hayden Hurst here. If you’re on social media or paying attention to all fantasy chatter then you’d know about the Ridley buzz. In turn, Hayden Hurst is the dynasty asset to own in ATL. He was stuck behind BAL TE Mark Andrews and the Falcons made a play for him. Look for Hurst to have a top-10 season at tight end in 2020!

Baltimore Ravens rookie RB J.K. Dobbins

Where do I begin? You may be shocked at this one but there isn’t a cheap option any where on this team! Lamar Jackson’s price is on the moon. Ingram is on the wrong side of 30. While the Hollywood Brown hype train is chugging too fast for my liking. So where does that leave us? Rookie RB J.K. Dobbins! Yes! I’m not going to repeat or go over all the Dobbins love, we all know what he’s about and who he should become in Baltimore.

Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs photo courtesy of the Buffalo Bills

The Bills are trending up but that’s a topic for another article. In terms of fantasy football they have several juicy pieces! After going through the Bills roster with a fine toothed comb I’m stuck between two guys! Rookie RB Zach Moss and rookie WR Gabriel Davis. I’ve been shocked since the draft how quick people are dismissing Devin Singletary. Regardless of what side of the fence you’re on pay attention to Gabriel Davis. I’ve never been into Cole Beasley and John Brown. Stefon Diggs is the WR1 in Buffalo now without question. Diggs is the biggest fantasy asset in Buffalo.

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffery

This portion of the article writes itself. Christian McCaffery. Christian McCaffery. Christian McCaffery. The best fantasy running back on earth at the moment. His value is absolutely astronomical right now but so what? If you own him thank your lucky stars. If you’re trying to acquire him better re-mortgage your house. He is the best fantasy asset to own in Carolina and maybe the entire NFL.

Chicago Bears WR Anthony Miller

Not many people are talking about the direction of the Bears offense this off-season. As a fellow NFC fan I play close attention to the Chicago Bears. In terms of a fantasy asset I was pulled in a few different directions. First being David Montgomery. He has picked up some fantasy value so far this off season but it didn’t feel right. Then I looked at the WR’s. Anthony Miller or Allen Robinson? After dissecting the situation I felt great saying Anthony Miller is the asset to own in Chicago. With an ADP in the 130s and a WR ranking around 60 Miller carries a ton of good value that could return great value in 2020!

Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow

It’s an exciting time to be a Cincinnati Bengals fan! Joe Burrow, Joe Mixon, AJ Green, Tee Higgins, John Ross and Tyler Boyd are all looking to make their mark in 2020! That’s all fine and dandy but which guy is the biggest asset? Everyone of these guys has a claim to that throne. It’s pretty obvious here, Joe Burrow. The #1 overall pick was drafted for reason and will no doubt serve a purpose. In terms of value, much like CMC and/or Lamar Jackson there is little to no value. These men command such high price tags that we need to look at them as long term investments. Much like a stock or our 401K’s. Joe Burrow is currently at the top of the rookie asset class and should drafted more of an investment rather than for value.

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry

What I find most exciting about this team is all the moving parts of the offensive talent. Bakers value isn’t very high at the moment, not like it was this time last season, so the value isn’t there. When it comes to their RB’s, Chubb is being drafted as a top-10 back leaving little wiggle room for value. Hunt is the back-up in CLE and we currently don’t know how he will used. So what are we left with? The Browns wide receivers! Odell Beckham Jr. is still a polarizing player. You either love him or hate him, there is no in-between. So I find myself with Jarvis Landry. Jarvis is both the biggest asset and value on this team. His ADP is currently way off in left field given his talent and production.

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliot

America’s Team! “We Dem Boyz!” Which boy is the biggest fantasy asset though? After the 2020 NFL Draft the Cowboys find themselves just overflowing with offensive talent yet a QB, Dak Prescott, seemingly asking for the world in a new contract. This one is simple, Ezekiel Elliott is the biggest and best fantasy asset in Dallas. Little to no value being a top-5 RB but again with such stud talent and production who needs value?

Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy

Another young up-and-coming team! If you’re reading this then I’m quite sure you know about all the Drew Lock hype thus leaving him off my list in both categories. I’m skipping past the RB’s, Gordon/Lindsay, and going right to the young newly drafted wide receiver! Jerry Juedy is the run-away consensus for biggest fantasy asset in DEN but he’s on the short list of players who holds great value too! By the skin of his teeth too! His ADP is around 40ish and being drafted as a WR20ish. So in turn he’s still on value side of fantasy drafts. Keep a watch on his ADP cause it could shift on dime. His value could plummet but take solace in the fact his fantasy importance will remain strong!

Detroit Lions RB D’Andre Swift

If you haven’t noticed by now, I’ve been thinking out loud and just writing it all out for the sake of this article. When it comes to dynasty the age of a player is important just don’t let it be a problem! Don’t turn into Age Obsessed Dynasty Guy! I’m going to keep it simple here and stick with the offensive rookies the Lions drafted in April. I’ve heard next to nothing about rookie WR Quintez Cephus! While on the other hand D’Andre Swift has received all the love and praise for his most recent recorded workout video. It’s nothing ground breaking or a hot take but Swift is the biggest dynasty asset in Detroit.

Green Bay Packers WR Alan Lazard

If you haven’t heard the Packers didn’t draft a single wide receiver in the 2020 draft. So giving you a WR as their biggest fantasy asset is ripe for the picking! Which one though? It’s not Davante Adams although he is hands down their best WR. Really quick while I have you here do me a favor and look into acquiring him at a discount. I’ve seen a ton of fantasy slander for Adams on social media lately. Doesn’t hurt to check. In terms of a dynasty asset and/or value I firmly believe Allen Lazard. When others zig I like to zag. Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been picking up some recent buzz so that puts Lazard in a sweet spot as the Packers best fantasy value/asset!

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson

With the departure of DeAndre Hopkins and addition of Brandin Cooks it threw a wrench into what I was trying to do with fantasy value in Houston. I did my best to explain the difference between value and being an asset in the opening so I have no issue telling you Deshaun Watson is the biggest fantasy asset in Houston. Everyone knows how talented Watson is and what he can do on the field so the value isn’t there but your investment in Watson as your QB1 will be well worth it!

Indianapolis Colts WR Parris Campbell

Is anybody else sick of hearing all about Parris Campbell? Me too but where there’s smoke there’s fire. Meaning, all this hype surrounding Parris is well founded. Given the fact Phil Rivers is now the Colts QB expect all WR’s in IND to see a rise in targets! Campbell’s value is holding firm and he’s teetering on the edge of biggest asset along with Jonathon Taylor. Only issue with JT is his high rookie price tag. Maybe this time next season Taylor will be the biggest asset given his 2020 season but lets cross that bridge when we come to it!

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Dede Westbrook

Let’s be honest, Jacksonville doesn’t have much going for them at the moment. They do however, have a collection of talented wide receivers! DJ Chark, Dede Westrook and rookie WR Laviska Shenault. In terms of a dynasty asset I want all the Westbrook shares. 2020 will be the last year of his rookie deal and that matters! Trust me!

Kansas City Chiefs Rookie RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Where do we start? The defending Super Bowl Champions boast one of the best overall teams in the NFL. Where does that leave us in terms of value and assets? This team is loaded with assets! Mahomes, Hill and Kelce. These three are tops at each position so the value is not there. All three are fantastic assets and will once again return value in 2020. The biggest asset in KC in 2020 is Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Not to be lazy but we all know about CEH. His ADP, his trade value and projections. I’m not looking to hammer home all the CEH details just know he’s one of the best assets and better long term fantasy investments you can make.

Las Vegas Raiders rookie WR Henry Ruggs III

This shouldn’t come as a shock but the biggest fantasy asset in Las Vegas is Henry Ruggs. Again, this choice was as simple as it gets and was done for me. You don’t draft a kid 12th overall if you’re not going to make him a star! That’s it! As simple as is gets!

Los Angeles Chargers WR Keenan Allen

I’ve made no secret about my love for Keenan Allen. Hate it or love it Allen is stud PPR receiver. With the addition of Justin Herbert I’ve fallen deeper in love with Keenan Allen. Agree or disagree Allen is the both the biggest fantasy asset and holds the most value of any Charger. Fantasy owners are still skipping over Allen and not respecting his skill set. Is there a chance he falls out of the top-50 ADP? Absolutely! That’s not a knock on Keenan it’s a knock on your league and the people drafting in it! Don’t make this mistake. Make the investment! If it tanks I’ll refund your money and publicly apologize.

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp

Cam Akers is the run-away choice here right Chris? Ha! Wrong! Not when Cam is being drafted as RB16! That ADP completely kills any value you hope to have with him. Again, I’ve mentioned the toxicity of social media and hyping rookies up too much blah blah blah so I’m not in the business of repeating myself. I am however in the business of giving you a dynasty asset from the LA Rams. It’s Cooper Kupp. Still shocking how Cooper gets no love. Goff should bounce back big time in 2020 and mark my words, Kupp will be a WR1 in 2020. He’s the biggest asset and has the most value in LA! As I told you earlier, a player that has both is a rarity!

Miami Dolphins WR Davante Parker

I don’t know about you but I’m excited about the long term outlook in Miami. Aside from that lets take a quick look inside the fantasy outlook of the Dolphins. Right off the bat we have to look at Tua. He may be the biggest asset this time next year but lets cool our jets. I’m not big into Jordan Howard or Matt Bredia at the moment so that leaves us at WR. Preston Williams or DeVante Parker? Drum roll please, the biggest fantasy asset in MIA at the moment is Parker. He came on so strong last season yet no one is paying his any attention so far in 2020. The return on his investment should hit an all time high once Tua is their starting QB. In the meantime draft him or trade for him and set it and forget it!

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins

The Vikings seemingly never hit a bottom. They keep in the real life division race all will producing fantastic fantasy players! Dalvin Cook is a top-10 RB and some say top-5. Which ever ranking you agree with he’s a fantasy stud RB meaning little to no value. The fantasy community knows what Adam Thielen is all about leaving little to no value. What a starting NFL QB with complete job security? Does that interest you? Good! As it should! Kirk Cousins is the biggest fantasy asset in Minnesota and it’s not close!

New England Patriots RB Damien Harris

What does life after Tom Brady look like in New England? I picture it as a war torn type nuclear bomb Will Smith movie. Completely barren and full of panic. Regardless, it’s time to move on. So when looking into the Patriots fantasy prospects where do we look? I’m going to back Damien Harris here! Sony Michel had a sub-par season. Julian Edleman is 34 so hard pass. The only other option here to me is K’Neal Harry. I just don’t see it! Harry is another kid who you’re either all in on or not touching with a 10 foot pole. I’m the later. Expect Harris to get some major run in 2020. He’s absolutely dirt cheap and the payout for you and your team could be fantastic!

New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray

Alvin Kamara is their starting RB and is a top-10 pick. By now you know what I’m going say, there is little to no value here. Michael Thomas is a top-5 pick. Same exact thing, no value. My first thought is Latavius Murray! Do any of you remember what he did in two games last season when Alvin was out? Murray is a legit RB1 as a starting running back. You can never project injuries nor would you want to. Murray is a stud handcuff and is without a doubt the biggest fantast asset on the Saints. His ADP is outside the top-200 which is nuts! Buy! Buy! Buy!

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones

This was more difficult than I thought! Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram and Darius Slayton. It’s like a carnival game, pick one any one! To be clear I’m not making a joke of the Giants just the situation I find myself in. At this point in the article I shouldn’t have to say it but I will anyway, Saquon is a stud RB so he’s off the table. Although he is the teams best asset he doesn’t hold the best value. Sterling Shepard does. Sterling is always tossed aside in fantasy circles. Why is that? The up and down of his injuries resulting in the loss of playing time? I get it just be mindful of this Giants team in 2020. We’re all excited about Danny Dimes and praying he takes a huge bump this coming season.

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold

I’m a big Sam Darnold guy. Unpopular opinion, he’s the biggest fantasy asset in the Jets organization. I’ve seen some chatter about Jamison Crowder and it’s well founded! He was my fall back option although I never once doubted Sam. Darnold is entering his second season in the NFL and he has some major pieces around him. What makes this so good is the fact no one really cares about drafting Sam. He’s a fall back option, a guy you draft late when you wait on a QB. Sam Darnold will skyrocket to fantasy stardom in 2020. I truly believe the New York Jets have found their future star QB!

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

There is a lot to go through here. Just not sure I want to. The Miles Sanders hype has reached The Beatles type mania. My gosh! What sneaky value we were looking to find in 2020 is long gone and it’s not coming back. What about their thin WR core? DeSean Jackson, Zach Ertz and Isaiah Coulter are the guys. In terms of value DeSean Jackson has a ton of it. Zach Ertz is a top-tier tight end so he’s out. Everybody is going wild for Jalen Reagor so at the moment his value is too high to provide anything but hype. This may come from left field but I love the value Jalen Hurts can bring your team. Lets be honest, how many of us are lying in wait for Carson Wentz to go down? In the meantime PHI has said they plan to work in Hurts to their offense. Good fantasy football players are thinking ahead. Sometimes 2-3 moves ahead. Imagine the massive explosion of value Hurts would command if he was thrust into the Eagles starting QB spot???

Pittsburgh Steelers RB James Connor

I’ve never been one to push my thoughts and ideals on others. I find we all get along better when we’re able to make our own decisions. Win or lose we can live with our decisions since they were our own! In saying that, James Connor is the biggest asset on the Steelers. I’ve made no secret for my love and passion about James Connor as a football player and a human being. His drive and work ethic will always help him succeed. As cliché as it sounds when Ben Roethlisberger is the starting QB the starting RB in PIT has done well. Connor is both the biggest asset and holds the most fantasy value of any Steeler. He’s another guy being tossed aside for a younger and hungrier rookie RB. It’s a mistake.

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert

How do you feel about Raheem Mostert? Hopefully great cause he’s San Francisco’s best fantasy asset. I juggled Raheem and Jalen Hurts here and came up with two conclusions. Hurts is the best value in San Francisco while Mostert is best asset. Simple right? Not being smart here. That’s it!

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson

As a fantasy sports writer and fantasy football player I’m full blown in love with D.K. Metcalf. As we should all be but this is still Russell Wilson’s team. Russ is the biggest fantasy asset on the Seahawks. I don’t care about value here. Wilson is a stone cold stud and a top-10 fantasy QB. Don’t over think it.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones II

I hate to be repetitive in my writing! It’s not fair to you as the reader and it’s just not smart to do. Unless it’s something you’re extremely passionate about. In this case, it’s just not smart to pass up Ronald Jones for Ke’Shawn Vaughn. After that Tampa Bay is loaded with offensive talent. So where do we go? Tom Brady, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard headline this TB offense. Yet Ronald Jones is still the biggest fantasy asset! That alone is major feat on roster with this much talent.

Tennessee Titans QB Ryan Tannehill

Much like Kirk Cousins in Minnesota Ryan Tannehill in Tennessee has no competition as the starting QB. He also boasts the 2019 rushing champion in Derrick Henry at RB. The importance and pressure a stud running back takes off the QB is immeasurable. There are a lot of question marks all over the board heading into the 2020 season. Ryan Tannehill repeating what he did in 2019 is one of them. It doesn’t bother me, not when Taylor Lewan is the starting offensive tackle, Henry is the starting RB and Corey Davis is your starting WR. Ryan Tannehill is both the biggest asset in Tennessee and it’s biggest value piece.

Washington Redskins QB Dwayne Haskins Jr.

Buy! Buy! Buy! (Part 2)

Buy! Buy! Buy! (Part 2)
Chris Robin https://twitter.com/DetroitBeastie

Buy! Buy! Buy! Was very successful! Due to the success it warranted a sequel!

So much like the original Buy! Buy! Buy! article I wanted to get in on a list of players I’m buying without any hesitation! The 2020 NFL Draft class is loaded with offensive talent. We already know this. What about players already in the league that we should buy? This list also goes well with dynasty, keeper and re-draft leagues! Missed Buy! Buy! Buy!? Check it out here! https://www.dfscheatsheet.com/buy-buy-buy/nfl/04/

If you’re in any dynasty leagues there is no off-season! Lets get to it! Here is an in-depth list of players I’m buying in 2020! Keep in mind at this point I’m going to be mentioning ADP/value from the mock drafts I’ve been apart of.

Sam Darnold QB-New York Jets

New York Jets QB Sam Darnold

Do you remember this kids first ever pass in the NFL? Pick 6 on Monday Night Football in Detroit. He can only improve from that. All kidding aside Sam has legit talent! Last season Darnold had little to no help. As a life long Detroit Lions fan I get it. The Jets offensive line allowed 52 sacks. Le’Veon Bell only averaged 3.2 yards per carry and missed seven games due to injury. Looking ahead to 2020 Robby Anderson has left for Carolina but they did sign FA WR Breshard Perriman. The Jets also have the 11th overall selection in the 2020 draft. As I’ve said before I don’t have a crystal ball but I think it’s safe to say the Jets go stud WR at 11 with a complement of offensive lineman selections. Help is on the way Sam and I think it’s time buy into him as your QB! In recent mock drafts Darnold is sitting around a QB15 ADP. Buy! Buy! Buy!

Drew Lock QB-Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos QB Drew Lock

I’ll say it straight out, Lock’s ADP is through the rook right now. Just a classic class of all of us early mock drafters mixed with the residuals of what Drew did late last season. Kid has some real potential! Now mix in the likes of Melvin Gordon III and the massive hype train that is Courtland Sutton and emergence of tight-end Noah Fant I can see why people are very high on him. Let pump the breaks though in terms of his ADP. I truly do believe Lock is a buy but within reason. I assume most of you have played fantasy football for quite some time so I don’t need to explain value and ADP. All value goes out the window if he’s drafted too high. Be careful, be mindful and keep a look out for Drew Lock during you 2020 mocks. That way you’ll be able gauge value come draft day. Buy! Buy! Buy!

Justice Hill RB-Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens RB Justice Hill

I thought my opinion of Baltimore offensive regression wasn’t that well taken. As we continue closer to closer to draft day I’ve seen a lot of regression talk. Mark Ingram will be 31 years old during the 2020 season. Once again I’m planning ahead. Hill is my pick here. Before you rake me over the coals I know Justice only had 66 carries for 295 yards and 2 TD’s. Hill is fast and possess a skill set unlike the other backs on the Ravens roster. He has the wheels and pedigree to really shine in this offense given the chance. I also believe this is our chance to grab Hill at such a cheap price. God forbid Mark Ingram goes down with an injury Hill’s value would skyrocket! In my draft mocks so far Hill has been drafted as a RB38. I’m jumping all over him! Buy! Buy! Buy!

Jordan Howard RB-Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins RB Jordan Howard

The Dolphins signed Howard to a two year $10 million dollar contract. It immediately addresses their hole at running back. What does this mean for his fantasy value? Over the years fantasy players haven’t paid much attention to Howard. He’s now on his third team in five years. Doing the RB shuffle. Miami has the 5th overall selection in the 2020 Draft. The only reason I mention this is due to the tremendous implications it will have on Howards value. By all reports Miami is looking to grab a QB early. That would be good news for us Howard sympathizers. Without a doubt Miami will draft a running back somewhere in the 2020 Draft. Does this bury Jordan on the depth chart? Not a chance! His new $10 million dollar contract assures us of this. Another preemptive strike buy Howard now! Buy! Buy! Buy!

Preston Williams WR-Miami Dolphins

Miami Dolphins WR Preston Williams

Preston is getting a ton of love in fantasy circles right now! Most fantasy players are taking it to the extreme too! Sending out tweets and posts going all in for their love of him! In his eight appearances in 2019 Preston put up five double-digit PPR performances and averaged 7.5 targets a game. He also averaged 10 yards per reception in all but one game. Did you also know he was the Dolphins leading receiver until he was injured. Insert Davante Parker here! What I said about the Dolphins draft plans above still hold true here for Preston. When MIA drafts a QB 5th overall all their players should see a boost in value. When it comes to Williams I also firmly believe he retains a role and will blow away his current ADP. The time to buy Preston is now. He won’t cost you much seeing how he’s being drafted as a WR53 its an easy add! Buy! Buy! Buy!

J.J. Arcega-Whiteside WR-Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside

This one is quick and easy! 2020 is a make or break season for JJ. More specifically, the Eagles GM Howie Roseman said, “needs to take a huge jump” this season. I know a lot of Eagles fans so I’m going to tread lightly here. I wouldn’t normally mention a no-name bum wide receiver but I honestly do this Arcega-Whiteside takes the next step. It’s an odd circumstance for two reason. You can draft him for next to nothing now or even add him early into the 2020 season. The choice is yours. Just know once this picks up more steam you’ll be dealing with those fantasy players who overvalue their players. Buy! Buy! Buy!

Mercole Hardman WR-Kansas City

Kansas City Chiefs WR Mercole Hardman

I’ve always been open and honest with you. So why would I stop now? I have no feeling toward Hardman one way or another. So why am I bringing him up? Well personal opinions and/or feelings play a big role in fantasy sports. Back to the topic at hand, Mercole Hardman! He didn’t have a special rookie season. He actually only had 41 targets last season and played in less than 50% of the offensive snaps. Not a stellar way to tell you to buy him right? Well, Hardman has the quickness and speed to really get loose. Sammy Watkins restructured his contract to remain in KC. Tyreek Hill is an absolute stud WR. They’ve also resigned Demarcus Robinson . So again, it seems the odds aren’t in his favor. If you look at his current ADP, WR65+, he’s easily one of the biggest buys so far this off-season. Look for Hardman to absolutely destroy his ADP. Sell! Sell! Sell!

Parris Campbell WR-Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts WR Parris Campbell

Few things at play here with Parris. Few things at play with the entire Colts offense. Indianapolis HC Frank Reich has high expectations for both Campbell and Pascal. What we need to be mindful of is what the Colts do in the draft and throughout free agency. The Colts look ready to make more moves to add to their offense. If they add another high-end WR then Parris and Pascal take huge hits. As it stands now Phil Rivers in their QB and we all know he’s aggressive. Let’s say the Colts go into the 2020 season as is. I would love to add Campbell. If T.Y. can stay healthy with Doyle at tight-end there is real potential. Just know there are a lot of moving parts! Just another preemptive move! It’s always great to get ahead of things! Buy! Buy! Buy!

Michael Gallup WR-Dallas Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup

2020 will be Gallup’s third season as pro! 2019 was quite good and I’m hoping he takes the next step this season! In 2019 Gallup was 8th in receptions of 20+ yards (18) and went over 100 receiving yards four times. What I enjoyed the most was his growth during the season. Gallup has started to come into his own. He really came on strong from weeks 10-17! Catching 48 passes from a possible 57 targets. Gallup also played in 86% of the Cowboys offensive snaps during that same time frame. I’m of the belief Gallup does take that next step in 2020. Only problem is he’s not that big of secret anymore. I think the time to buy is now. Slightly elevated but as low as his price is going to be! Buy! Buy! Buy!

Dawson Knox TE-Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills TE Dawson Knox

The initial issue here is the addition of Stefon Diggs. I’m a glass half full kind of guy. An eternal optimist if you will. With Diggs now being in Buffalo they will be able to stretch the field more right? Maybe a tad less targets but this is good for Knox! Although Know did get much action his rookie year, 3.3 targets a game, the Bills are invested in him and his development. I’ve seen a low to moderate interest in Knox. I’m buying all the shares I can! If you miss out on the first tier of TE’s (Kelce, Kittle, Waller, Andrews) then wait it out! If you’re able to draft or acquire Knox late in a draft then that only extends his value! Buy! Buy! Buy!

T.J. Hockenson TE-Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions TE T.J. Hockenson

If I have to read another article or statement about how stud TE’s take a few seasons to develop I’m going to freak out! That being said, I do agree! Ha! Any way to slice it I believe TJ is destined for super stardom at the tight-end position. He flashed moments in 2019 but ultimately succumb to injuries and poor quarterback play. Look for Hock to take the next step in 2020. Matthew Stafford is fully healthy and will assume his role as a fixture on the Lions roster. If you missed it Sell! Sell! Sell! Part 1 did mention Stafford as a buy. I’m very much on board with buying TJ Hock too! Buy! Buy! Buy!

Noah Fant TE-Denver Broncos

Denver Broncos TE Noah Fant

I’ll be right up front and honest here. Why all the buzz about Fant? I will do my best to explain what I think is going on and how well taken all the positive reports about Noah are. His 2019 was very inconsistent. It was also his rookie season. To me, Fant has a very high ceiling and I’d be happy to own him. The Denver Broncos added Melvin Gordon III and Philip Lindsay is still there. Great running back play is huge to the development of TE’s. As Drew Lock and Fant grow and learn together the results could be beautiful! Nothing fancy here just get in on the ground floor here. Fant has the upside of a very well rounded TE2. At his current ADP that’s a steal!

Just wanted to mention how important ADP is when drafting these guy. Please mock as much as you can and if need be take notes and be aware of where these players are being drafted!

2020 Fantasy Football Mock Draft (Round 1)

2020 Fantasy Football Mock Draft (Round 1)
Chris Robin https://twitter.com/DetroitBeastie

Football is upon us! In terms of drafting the content is a little early. The big names have already built projections and published books and magazines. Being early is not a bad thing. If you’re like me too much content isn’t a thing. Given the current situation across the county mock drafting and fantasy football discussions are needed!

Normally the fun leading up to the fantasy football draft season is talk of the top 10. Or who is the consensus number one. This season it’s quiet clear. Right?

What sets fantasy football aside for me is all the strategy that goes in. Some owners like crafty veterans while others want all rookies. There is no right way! It’s your team! You’re able to build it how you want!

I’m asking you all now to please get involved in a dynasty start up. I’m not trying to push my ideals on anyone but I promise you’ll thank me later! Fantasy football is a 365 24/7 kind of commitment!

We all find our own way in terms of fantasy sports. There is no wrong way! Build how you want and build to maximize your enjoyment.

I’m going to get into a mock draft series and publish the results! 12 team, full PPR scoring. Also six points per passing touchdown. I’m in a unique position to set the rules as I see fit. Lets get right into it!

Carolina Panthers RB Christian McCaffery

1. Christian McCaffrey RB-Carolina Panthers

CMC is the clear cut #1 choice this season. He is durable and the best dual threat RB we’ve seen in a long time. He rarely missed time and Carolina gives this kid as much as he can handle! Is it crazy to think he has a better 2020 then 2019? CMC finished 150 points ahead of all other RB’s. That why I feel stupid asking, can he produce more? McCaffrey is lights out!

New Orleans Saints WR Michael Thomas

2. Michael Thomas WR-New Orleans Saints

Given the scoring rules, MT is a monster in PPR formats. Any format really! Drew Brees is back for another season in NO so why would the production drop? Thomas set an NFL record with 149 receptions for 1,725 yards and 9 touchdowns. Sometimes these quick bios write themselves!

New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley

3. Saquon Barkley RB-New York Giants

One of the only guys who can give CMC a run for his money. The Giants are improving and I’d expect Saquon to improve as well. I firmly believe we haven’t seen what Barkley can truly do.

Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins

4. DeAndre Hopkins WR-Arizona Cardinals

In a shocking wave of events Hopkins was traded to Arizona. Did any of you think that was going to hurt his value? No way. Not a chance. Hopkins is safe pick and will ALWAYS produce. Personally moving from Watson to Murray may look like a little downgrade. As Murray gains more experience and the Cardinals find their groove this combo can and will explode.

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry

5. Derrick Henry RB-Tennessee Titans

King Henry! The 2019 rushing champion. Derrick had a phenomenal playoff run last season. This kid is a monster and will continue racking up yards and touchdowns. Doesn’t catch many passes but what does that matter when you’re running for 100+ yards each week?

Dallas Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliot

6. Ezekiel Elliot RB-Dallas Cowboys

You either love Dallas or you hate them. For fantasy purposes you have to put that nonsense aside! Zeke had a great 2019 and why would that change in 2020? 1,200+ yards with 10+ touchdowns is his 2020 outlook. That’s top 10 talent to me!

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams

7. Davante Adams WR-Green Bay Packers

Adams is a top 3 wide receiver. Injuries have held him back and hampered his climb to a top 5 draft day selection. I firmly believe he’s in the mix as a top 5 selection. I’ve also heard rumblings from fantasy players doubting his skill set and production. Don’t let Adams slide too far in your draft. He’s a stud!

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson

8. Lamar Jackson QB-Baltimore Ravens

I hate that a QB has found their way into the top 10 of my mock. I’m a, “NO QB in the first round” kind of guy! In this case I think we can all make an exception! Lamar gives you QB and RB in one deal! I will tell you now and we can move on, I didn’t think he was going to be this special coming out of college.

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara

9. Alvin Kamara RB-New Orleans Saints

This time last season how many of you were debating Alvin, CMC or Saquon as the number one pick? How many of you chose Kamara? Was a costly mistake. He didn’t look good much of the 2019 season. Come to find out he was dealing with a leg injury. Now 2020 draft Alvin in the top 10 and watch him rebound!

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill

10. Tyreek Hill WR-Kansas City Chiefs

Tyreek is a bad man and a dangerous wide receiver. His QB is this kid named Patrick Mahomes. This combo can and will yield amazing results. I don’t have to sell you on Hill just wanted to add my two cents.

Minnesota Vikings RB Dalvin Cook

11. Dalvin Cook RB-Minnesota Vikings

Look, I’m a big fan of Cook and what can do. To me, you have to hit a home run with your first round selection. My only concern is injuries. In a perfect world if we could be assured of an injury free season, Cook would be a top 7 guy.

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones

12. Julio Jones WR-Atlanta Falcons

I had this weird thought of a decline in production for Julio in 2020. What’s been the biggest knock on Jones? He doesn’t score enough touchdowns! Jones can still help your team in other ways. Catches and yards! Julio plays have his games indoors on turf in ATL, don’t be fooled, Julio Jones is still a top notch draft selection!

That’s it for round 1!

2020 Top 50 Relief Pitchers

Top 50 RP rankings
Chris Robin https://twitter.com/DetroitBeastie

With the season paused and all of us left holding our hats we still need baseball content! It keeps us sane!

What sets fantasy baseball aside for me is all the strategy that goes in. Some owners like crafty veterans while other want young prospects. There is no right way! It’s your team! You’re able to build it how you want!

Most people in fantasy baseball leagues know me as the RP guy! I’m a sucker for stud relief pitcher!

Few years ago I came across the all RP approach. Be mindful of your leagues scoring status. Is it a rotisserie (roto) scoring or Head to head points? Quick refresher on the difference! Roto scoring is just focused on a small number of statistical categories while ignoring others. Head to head point leagues use specific categories to accumulate scoring.

Roto fantasy baseball is the most common. While H2H category leagues can differ depending on the commissioner and rules set by the league. A 5×5 category scoring format is my favorite way to play. Which means, batting average, home runs, RBI, stolen bases and runs for hitters. Wins, saves, ERA, strikeouts and WHIP for pitchers.

The ALL RP approach is best suited for category leagues. With wins, saves, ERA, strikeouts and WHIP counting for pitchers I’ve found you can really sway the pitching categories in your favor with a good set of stud relief pitchers!

To be clear this is my favorite approach when it comes to pitchers. Not in every league either. I find it most fun when given a challenge and trying a different way. With a dynasty team you’re afforded those luxuries.

I’m asking you all now to please get involved in a dynasty start up. I’m not trying to push my ideals on anyone but I promise you’ll thank me later! We all find our own way in terms of fantasy sports. There is no wrong way! Build how you want and build to maximize your enjoyment.

I asked two friends, who happen to be league mates, to give me their top 50 RP list! Ben Anderson https://twitter.com/bennieboy26 and Sam Huff https://twitter.com/_samhuff

2020 MLB Prospect Deep Dive

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a million times! There is something special about dynasty baseball. You are able to plan ahead and come up with your own rankings or projections.

I’ve been playing fantasy sports for years now. Nothing has compared to dynasty baseball. Its weird to be reading magazines or articles talking about a 17 or 18 year old kid from the Dominican Republic.

We all have our ways. Our own draft strategies. Our own rankings. Our own way of doing research. When it comes to the next crop of Major League talent we all have our rankings. It’s all based on team need and what you’re planning for.

Ahead is my personal top 30 list of young talent and first year players. Recently added to your player pool. Unless your league does an off book draft or add/drop process some of these kids may be unknown. Some not so much if you follow the MLB draft. Keep in mind these players are in no particular order and players from my own personal player pool. There will be a few doubles from the previous article but not many.

The long awaited sequel to 2020 Closest to the Show article comes 2020 First Year Player Deep Dive!

Jasson Dominguez OF-New York Yankees

Kid is a phenom and hold a ton of trade value!

Andrew Vaughn 1B-Chicago White Sox

20+ home runs a season isn’t a pipe dream. Hopefully he can tweak his swing, if so sky’s the limit!

Riley Greene OF-Detroit Tigers

Has a real chance to develop some plus power. That mixed with his speed is a deadly combo.

Corbin Carroll OF-Arizona Diamondbacks

Corbin can hammer a baseball and boy is he fast!

CJ Abrams SS-San Diego Padres

Might be the fastest kid on this list! San Diego isn’t scared to promote young talent.

Adley Rutschman C-Baltimore Orioles

#1 overall pick and a stud on defense. What more can I say?

Bobby Witt Jr. SS-Kansas City Royals

Bobby keeps going and going. He’s like the energizer bunny!

Nick Lodolo LHP-Cincinnati Reds

Nick will advance through the Reds minor league system fast.

JJ Bleday OF-Miami Marlins

Has an odd swing but the power will come.

Josh Jung 3B-Texas Rangers

Can make contact but not sold on his power.

Robert Puason SS-Oakland Athletics

Has top ten short stop potential.

Shogo Akiyama OF-Cincinnati Reds

Lead off hitter, should be on base a whole lot.

Luis Rodriguez OF-Los Angeles Dodgers

Not fast but he is huge. Power is his game!

Erick Pena SS-Kansas City Royals

Loaded with tools and a step better then Pauson.

Matt Allan RHP-New York Mets

The Mets know how to develop pitching! Buy buy buy.

Alex Manoah RHP-Toronto Blue Jays

Alex is big and strong and will have no issue getting through the minors.

Gregg Jones SS-Tampa Bay Rays

Maybe I spoke too soon with Abrams and his quickness. Jones is also quite fast!

Brett Baty 3B-New York Mets

Your prototypical big power a lot of strikeouts kind of kid.

Michael Toglia 1B-Colorado Rockies

Major power and that plays well in Colorado!

George Kirby RHP-Seattle Mariners

Kirby struck out 25 batters in his first 25 innings of pro ball without issuing a walk. Oh boy!

Will Wilson SS-San Francisco Giants

Very good on the base paths but strikes out a ton.

Braden Shewmake SS-Atlanta Braves

Hitter with nice pop and great speed. Sign me up!

Hunter Bishop OF-San Francisco Giants

Very athletic kid who knows how to take a walk.

Gunnar Henderson SS-Baltimore Orioles

Great size with both power and speed. Still a lot of development to be done.

Hudson Head OF-San Diego Padres

Very nice set of tools but a lot of development ahead.

Brennan Malone RHP-Pittsburgh Pirates

Great arm but has already been traded. Do you trust the Pirates here?

Michael Busch 2B-Los Angeles Dodgers

Excellent at getting on base, defense is his issue.

Jackson Rutledge RHP-Washington Nationals

Great arm with an odd delivery. May be better suited in a relief role.

Quinn Priester RHP-Pittsburgh Pirates

Solid stuff with great control. Thank you for reading! Any questions or comments? Leave one here or find me at DFScheatsheet.com On FaceBook @ Chris Robin Or on Twitter @dfscheatsheet1 Or my personal Twitter @DetroitBeastie
