Bottom of the Barrel Championship Sunday

Bottom of the Barrel Championship Sunday

Then there were four. Just like that! Twelve quarters of football left in the 2020 season. I thought about using this space to recap the season. Intertwine the lessons we learned with some sort of philosophical twist. Felt like a lot work! The way my brain works in addition to my love for writing and we would be here for hours.

So, I thought better of it! What else could we do together this week that we have not done yet this season? To be honest, we have just about covered everything. Winning, losing, laughing, and being upset. We have covered the full range of emotions. On the last weekend of football before the Super Bowl do, we play it safe.

Absolutely not! Now is the time to go all in! The day after the Super Bowl this season you will be hoping and praying for NFL DFS action. Let us get it while we can!

When you think about Bottom of the Barrel what comes to mind? If safe and boring come up first, then I have not been particularly good this season. For some odd reason I do not think those words will come up.

Patrick Mahomes KC vs BUF (13th)(FD-$9,000)(DK-$7,600)

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

Concussion or twisted nerve? Whatever has happened seems to be clearing up. Reports all over the wire today have said Mahomes has cleared “big steps”. As it stands now the decision is out of the Chiefs hands. The NFL has protocols in place for a reason. All signs point to Pat playing Sunday vs the Bills.

Aaron Rodgers GB vs TB (22nd)(FD-$8,700)(DK-$6,500)

Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers

If Aaron Rodgers is the starting QB for the Packers, then Green Bay will always be in the running for a Super Bowl. As a Detroit Lions fan, it is a touch pill to swallow. Realistically, it is the truth. In terms of Sunday, we are in for a treat.

Josh Allen BUF @ KC (20th)(FD-$8,500)(DK-$6,900)

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen

What more can we say about this kid? At this point of the season not much left I can say to gas him up. Josh Allen is the real deal and will be well worth the money on Sunday in Kansas City.

Tom Brady TB @ GB (3rd)(FD-$7,800)(DK-$6,100)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady

Vintage playoff Tom Brady. Personally, TB12 is the best playoff QB of all time. Love it or hate him Tom just flat out gets it done. Looking ahead to Sunday we finally get to see a TB vs Rodgers head-to-head playoff game. Sunday will be the fourth time these two have faced off. Tom is also 2-1 vs Rodgers but those have all been regular season games.

Chad Henne KC vs BUF (13th)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,000)

Kansas CIty back-up QB Chad Henne

Just in case! Never know!

Aaron Jones GB vs TB (1st)(FD-$8,000)(DK-$6,500)

Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones

Are we done fading Aaron Jones yet? I have never understood the rationale behind leaving AJ behind. Putting him down and passing on him week-after-week. Jones fell one yard shy of hundred last weekends but ripped off a 60-yard run to begin the second half. I would be willing to bet a large portion will be fading Jones again this weekend. People see Tampa and where they rank against RB’s and do not think twice, fade. Not me and you should not either.

Leonard Fournette TB @ GB (27th)(FD-$7,200)(DK-$5,300)

Tampa Bay RB Leonard Fournette

Leo has looked fantastic so far in the playoffs. He is seen thirty-six total carries for 159 yards, caught nine passes from ten total targets and has scored twice. Even with Rojo active last weekend Fournette still found the endzone. Fournette still carried the ball 17 times. Fournette still saw six targets. Leonard win be a busy beaver Sunday in Green Bay!

Clyde Edwards-Helaire KC vs BUF (22nd)(FD-$6,200)(DK-$5,000)

Kansas City Chiefs rookie RB Clyde Edwards Helaire

At the time of this publication, Wednesday, Clyde did practice today. Although a “light day” as coach Andy Reid said it is still a positive step. Thursday the 21st is the big full speed practice day for KC. Keep an eye out for CEH in practice reports this week. We will revisit on Sunday morning.

Darrel Williams KC vs BUF (22nd)(FD-$6,000)(DK-$4,800)

Kansas City Chiefs RB Darrel Williams

If the aforementioned CEH is deemed inactive then here is your guy! D-Will looked great last weekend vs the Browns. Out carrying Bell 17:3 and assuming lead back duties. At this point of the season, I do not see Andy Reid changing much.

Devin Singletary BUF @ KC (24th)(FD-$5,800)(DK-$4,500)

Buffalo Bills RB Devin Singletary

To be fair the Bills really have reason to rush the ball, at all. You would think that would paint them into a corner, but they have made it this far! You can expect around six or seven carries along with three or four receptions. It is a safe floor, but it is a low one. Plan accordingly.

Ronald Jones II TB @ GB (27th)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$4,600)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones II

What if I told you about my idea to roster BOTH RoJo and Fournette on Sunday? Here me out! The temperature in Green Bay at kick-off will be around 28 degrees and about a 50% chance of snow. Tampa would be wise to use both backs in a 50/50 split. Each one stays active. Each one stays warm.

Jamaal Williams GB vs TB (1st)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$4,400)

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams

From my own personal game script, I would expect J-Will see a healthy amount of work Sunday. Not so much a 50/50 split like RoJo/Fournette but enough to make him viable in a pinch. Or to save money elsewhere in our lines.

Mike Evans TB @ GB (3rd)(FD-$6,600)(DK-$5,800)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans

Evans is not in the normal price range for Bottom of the Barrel. It is Championship Sunday! No time to get cute and the exact time to pull out all the spots! There are only four teams left standing! We must spend up in spots! Mike Evans is constantly overlooked yet all he does is dominate in the endzone and score touchdowns. Kevin King and Jaire Alexander will be roaming around opposite Evans on Sunday but so will Gronk, Godwin, Brown and Brate. Something must give!

Antonio Brown TB @ GB (3rd)(FD-$5,800)(DK-$4,700)

Tampa Bay Bucs WR Antonio Brown

Luckily, AB did not sustain any serious damage to the knee injury suffered last weekend. His MRI scan was clean, and he is day-to-day. Given the importance of Sundays game I would like to think AB will do all that he can to be out there. I would not make it a priority to roster him. More like a wait and see. Wait and see where your roster build takes you.

Allen Lazard GB vs TB (24th)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,200)

Green Bay Packers WR Alan Lazard

What a great time for Lazard to find his stride! Allen caught four passes for 96 yards and a touchdown last week vs the Rams. This team at WR has been all Davante Adams and whoever else is active. Now, Allen Lazard is finally pulling his wait. Lazard is a safely deployed as a rock solid WR2 this weekend.

Marquez Valdez-Scantling GB vs TB (24th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$3,900)

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Week-to-week who will it be? After Adams is it Lazard or MVS? MVS or Lazard? If you buy into that logic, then Sunday it will be MVS.

Mercole Hardman KC vs BUF (4th)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,000)

Kansas City Chiefs WR Mercole Hardman

Hardman was busy last weekend against the Browns. What he did worked. It worked well. So, well I am hoping Andy Reid lets it carry over on Sunday. Another four receptions and a carry would be outstanding for Mercole given his price tag.

Gabriel Davis BUF @ KC (2nd)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$3,500)

Buffalo Bills rookie WR Gabriel Davis

How many of you are Buffalo Bills fans? How many of you watched the Bills game last Saturday? Only reason I ask is to double check we saw the same thing. Davis was only targeted four times, but they were high upside targets. Two of them being red zone looks. The rookie tweaked his ankle last weekend and has not practiced yet this week.

Demarcus Robinson KC vs BUF (4th)(FD-$4,800)(DK-$3,700)

Kansas City Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson

It is tough trying to project what kind of work Demarcus will see week-to-week. We obviously know he is not going to be a WR1, but it is that homerun boom potential that keeps me coming back.

Tyler Johnson TB @ GB (3rd)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$3,000)

Tampa Bay rookie WR Tyler Johnson

Nothing crazy here, just a shoutout out to all you Tyler Johnson truthers!

Robert Tonyan GB vs TB (22nd)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$3,600)

Green Bay Packers TE Robert Tonyan

Rob is a safe bet for 3-4 targets Sunday. Never a ton of yardage but always a threat to score. If a touchdown dependent tight end is always scoring touchdowns does that make him touchdown dependent?

Rob Gronkowski TB @ GB (5th)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$3,200)

Tampa Bay Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski

Gronk saw five targets last weekend but was only able to reel one in. Sunday in Green Bay he should have his way with the Packers linebackers. Clearly a miss-match let us fire up Gronk in hopes of a playoff-Gronk type performance.

Cameron Brate TB @ GB (5th)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$3,000)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate

Cam saw five targets just like Gronk, yet he caught four of them. I have this odd feeling one of these Tampa tight ends is going to score twice. Obviously, I do not know which one. So, I am going to make duplicate lines just swapping out Gronk for Brate and Brate for Gronk! Make sense?

Dawson Knox BUF @ KC (30th)(FD-$4,700)(DK-$2,800)

Buffalo Bills TE Dawson Knox

Knoxy Knoxy Knoxy, what do we do with you? Dawson is low-end TE2 but his QB is Josh Allen. That alone is enough for me to roster him. Hard hitting analysis, I know. It has been a long season! What more do you want from me?

Mardedes Lewis GB vs TB (22nd)(FD-$4,300)(DK-$2,500)

Green Bay Packers TE Marcedes Lewis

Let us not get crazy. This may Marcedes’ last hoorah as a professional football player.

Here are some of my sample lines I am going to use for Championship Sunday! Keep in mind these lines are for entertainment purposes! Please play responsible!

Hot Pucking Stacks 1/20

Hot Pucking Stacks
Chris Robin

How many of you are supplementing your DFS action with hockey? It is a wise move! I was recently having a conversation with a friend looking to get into NHL DFS. Their opening statement was, “Every line I build is loaded with studs!” My reply was, “Each team is full of studs!” I continued by saying, “It’s up to us to choose the right set of studs every night!”

As each day passes on the NHL schedule more and more information is made available to us. That information is extremely helpful when building stacks and NHL lines. Thank you for the continued support!

Here are seven stacks I love tonight and several combos we can use!

Las Vegas Golden Knights 2

Las Vegas Golden Knights

Jonathan Marchessault L2 & PP2
William Karlsson L2 & PP1
Reilly Smith L2 & PP2

The Vegas Knights are in play each night they are in action. What is shocking to me is the fact they remain under the radar every night. Going back to last season their ownership remains low. Vegas welcomes in the Arizona Coyotes and are projected to win 66.7% and score 3.1 goals.

Montreal Canadians 1

Montreal Canadians

Tomas Tatar L1 & PP2
Phillip Danault L1
Brendan Gallagher L1 & PP2

Looking back through last seasons notes and game scripts I noticed the Canadians were favorites of mine in Hot Puck. Fast forward to this season and here they are again! Montreal travels to Vancouver in what should be a great game. It is certainly a toss-up yet, MTL is projected to win 56.5% and to score 3.2 goals compared to the Canuks 3.0. Montreal has always been a nice filler stack around the higher end lines in the league.

St. Louis Blues 2

St. Louis Blues

Jaden Schwartz L2 & PP2
Brayden Schenn L2 & PP1
Jordan Kyrou L2

The Blues host the San Jose Sharks tonight in another compelling match-up. I would’ve like to use STL1 tonight but the match-up with the high flying SJ1 scares me a tad. I would rather concentrate on STL2 vs the Sharks second line. St. Louis is projected to win 65.5% and score 3.2 goals.

The Edmonton Oilers travels to Toronto to square off with the Maple Leaf’s! It is no secret this is the best game to stack tonight. With an o/u at 6.5 goals EDM is projected to score 3.1 goals while TOR is projected at 3.5 goals. Much like the PIT/WSH game last night let us discuss full game combo stack!

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins L1 & PP1      Jimmy Vesey L2
Connor McDavid L1 & PP1              John Tavares L2 & PP2
Zack Kassian L1                               William Nylander L2 & PP2

Leon Draisaitl L2 & PP1                  Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Dominik Kahun L2 & PP2               Joe Thornton L1 & PP1
Kailer Yamamoto L2                       Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

Last nights PIT/WSH full game stack paid off! It was a 5-4 final in OT with Pittsburgh coming out on top. I am fully expecting a 6-5 final tonight with at least six total goals. Toronto is projected to score 3.5 goals compared to 3.1 for the Oilers.

Do you know why hockey is the best? Yesterday afternoon in Detroit two childhood friends got into a fist fight for fun! Detroit Red Wings star Dylan Larkin squared up against his best friend, Zach Werenski!

Larkin and Werenski were roommates at the University of Michigan during their tenure as student athletes. Larkin even left Zach’s parents tickets for the Monday hockey matinee. What a flex!

In a post-game interview Dylan said, “I was kind of late to the pile,” Larkin told reporters. “I didn’t like it, and I think as I tried to jump in, I elbowed Zach, and that didn’t make him happy, and we fought.” While Zach stated, “We were laughing a little,” Werenski said. “We weren’t holding back. I was trying to win the fight, and I think he was as well.”

The drive and competitive nature of professional athletes is so high sometimes it boils over into odd ways. Fist fighting in an ice hockey game has always been the draw. A game within the game. In the early 1990’s NHL teams would roster an enforcer. Someone to help keep the peace and guard over their stars. Bob Probert is the first name that comes to mind. Probert had many battles with several skaters during that time.

The NHL has started to frown upon fist fighting during their games but have yet to fully remove it. Why would they? It is part of the fabric on hockey! Let us turn our attention to today’s NHL slate. Eight games in total and the first puck drop is at 7p EST. Have fun and as always do not be afraid to mix-and-match these lines!

Florida 1

Florida Panthers

Carter Verhaeghe L1 & PP2
Alexsander Barkov L1 & PP1
Anthony Duclair L1 & PP2

The Panthers had an offseason! They added several high-flying studs. Personally, I believe they have one of the strongest collections of top-6 skaters in hockey. Tonight, they welcome in Chicago. This game is tied for the highest o/u of the night (6.5). I could easily make a case for a full game stack of this one. Florida is projected to win 62.3% and score 3.4 goals. Get some Florida Panther in your lines tonight!

New York Rangers 1

New York Rangers

Chris Kreider L1 & PP1
Mika Zibanejad L1 & PP1
Pavel Buchnevich L1 & PP2

The New York Rangers host the New Jersey Devils tonight. Pavel has scored twice this season on 5 SOG (shots on goal) and is also +2. NYR are projected to win 59.2% and score 3.1 goals tonight. If you are only looking for a one off here it is Pavel Buchnevich.

Ottawa PP1

Ottawa Senators

Brady Tkachuk PP1 & L1
Josh Norris PP1 & L1
Evgenii Dadov PP1 & L2
Drake Batherson PP1 & L1
Thomas Chabot (D) PP1 & L1

The Senators have only played two games (1-1-0). Yet defenseman Chabot has scored a goal on the power play. There really is not much data out there in terms of PP percentages given the fact is super early in the season. If you look at each Senator listed above, you will get exposure to their top-2 lines along with the PP1 unit. Each player is perfectly priced, and we can mix-n-match using this line.

Next up is a full game combo stack for Washington Capitols at Pittsburgh Penguins. This game has the highest o/u of the night (6.5) and boasts an impressive collection of stars.

Washington Capitals vs Pittsburgh Penguins

Alex Ovechkin L1 & PP1                        Jason Zucker L2 & PP2
Nicklas Backstrom L1 & PP1                 Evgeni Malkin L2 & PP1
T.J. Oshie L1 & PP1                                  Bryan Rust L2 & PP1

Washington vs Pittsburgh

Jakub Vrana L2 & PP2                           Jake Guentzel L1 & PP1
Evgeny Kuznetsov L2 & PP1                Sidney Crosby L1 & PP1
Tom Wilson L2 & PP2                          Kasperi Kapanen L1 & PP2

As you can see below, each combo fits in perfectly together! We can play around with our defensive combos and starting goalies. Be mindful of PIT RW Kasperi Kapanen status before lock. In the event Kasperi is not in the top-6 adjustments will be made on my end!

It is an exciting time friend! As the NHL season starts to heat up so will Hot Pucking stacks!

Where do we begin? Hockey is hockey but not much trumps the NFL Divisional weekend. There seems to be an actual football hangover today! I am sure several folks have actual hangovers, but I am speaking about the emotional side of the weekend.

We must press on! As I have said hockey is hockey. If you love the NHL as much as I do then everyday is fantastic! When I say “press on” I mean the content must go on! Not trying to force NHL DFS on anybody but, someone must do it! As the season begins to unfold so will the new followers of ice hockey.

Let us turn our attention to todays NHL slate. Ten games in total and the first puck drop is at 12p EST right here in Detroit! Have fun and as always do not be afraid to mix-and-match these lines!

Let us look at my six favorite stacks!

Columbus Blue Jackets power play 1

Columbus Blue Jackets

Pierre-Luc Dubois PP1 & L1
Nick Foligno PP1 & L3
Oliver Bjorkstrand PP1 & L1
Cam Atkinson P1 & L2
Seth Jones (D) PP1 & L1

Looking at this stack you will notice all players skate together on the first power play unit. While you also get exposure to CBJ’s top-3 lines! The Blue Jackets are projected to score 2.9 goals and are a 64.3% favorite to win.

Toronto Maple Leafs 1

Toronto Maple Leafs

Joe Thornton L1 & PP1
Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

Get used to seeing Toronto in this article all season. In terms of todays slate the Maple Leaves are projected to score 3.5 goals and are 61.5% favorites to win. These three skaters are high end in terms of pricing but there are several ways to build around TOR1 tonight.

Calgary Flames 1

Calgary Flames

Matthew Tkachuk L1 & PP1
Elias Lindholm L1 & PP1
Dillon Dube L1 & PP2

With the Flames tonight you are getting a disciplined line with exposure to the first power play unit. Calgary is projected to score 3.2 goals and a 60% chance to win tonight on home ice.

Minnesota Wild 2

Minnesota Wild

Marcus Johansson L2 & PP2
Nick Bonino L2 & PP2
Kevin Fiala L2 & PP1

The Wild’s second line is in a good spot tonight vs the Anaheim Ducks. The OVER has gone over in 4 of MIN last 5 games. They are projected to score 2.8 goals and have a 57.5% chance to win tonight. They are also a cheaper stack and allows us to roster the more expensive team stacks!

Montreal Canadians 2

Montreal Canadians

Jonathan Drouin L2 & PP1
Nick Suzuki L2 & PP1
Josh Anderson L2 & PP2

The Habs travel to Edmonton tonight to face off against the high-flying Oilers. The o/u in this one sits at 6.5 goals and I want all pieces of it. MTL is projected to score 3.2 goals while EDM is projected the same. The game can be sliced right down the middle in all phases. In turn, I am going to take the cheap action and stack MTL2 as they will not matched up against the EDM1 line of Connor McDavid and Leon Draissaitl.

St. Louis Blues 2

St. Louis Blues

Jaden Schwartz L2 & PP2
Brayden Schenn L2 & PP1
Jordan Kyrou L2

The Blues host San Jose tonight and are projected to score 3.2 goals with a 64.9% chance to win. Everything is pointing to the Blues tonight so who am I to argue? The Blues second line is better than their first in terms of seasonal stats. Stack STL2 as they are a touch cheaper than STL1.

Hot Pucking Stacks 1/14

Yesterday was a soft open for the hockey season as they say in retail! However, today there are TEN games! If you are new to NHL DFS or daily fantasy sports here is a little advice!

There’s an old saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” Same principles apply here with hockey. When we come upon a team or line that is playing at such a high level, we choose that team and line. In other words, it’s called, “eating the chalk”.

Quick refresher, chalk is a player or team that the entire world knows is going to perform well. In turn, high ownership. In most cases we want to stray away from high owned players or teams, right? Be different. Go with the contrarian choice. Yes and no.

In a large GPP being different pays off. In cash games chalk is your best friend. It’s all about what you’re trying to do and what contests you play. At this point this should not be news to you. Hence the refresher.

Hockey DFS has always been my first love. Not sure how many of you know that. It has been nothing but football for six months. Every day, every minute all the time. Which is fine but it is also nice to have several other interests.

Over the past six months we have gotten to know each other. Chat on podcasts, crack jokes on various broadcasting sites and share ideas on social media. Most importantly we have built trust together. You have trusted my advice and DFS knowledge all season. For that I cannot thank you enough.

So now, I am asking you to trust me again. Let us take on hockey together. Trust me with your NHL DFS advice. Let me guide you through another season. If you have played NHL DFS before then let us continue to grow and learn together. If you have not played NHL DFS before let me teach you. Let me help you. Let us have some fun!

Day 1 of the 2021 NHL season is upon us. Much like the start of any new season its all about finding a way. Lines are still in flux. Powerplay units are being worked out on the fly. Bottom of the Barrel Divisional Round

Bottom of the Barrel Divisional Round
Chris Robin

Are you superstitious? What extremes have you gone to ensure your team wins? After Wild Card weekend it is safe to assume Cleveland Brown fans have done the most! Praying, wearing jerseys, rubbing stones, or even bowing down to tchotchkes. Whatever the Cleveland faithful have done it is clearly working!

Up next is the Divisional Round, the final four! Meaning, there is little to no room for error. We must be damn near perfect. Which is possible if we stay the course and dig in to Bottom of the Barrel. This article is not the end all be for DFS value plays, but it has been unbelievably effective all season. You have trusted me, and the continued support only makes me work harder. No time to let up now. Let us finish strong!

This article started as a never-ending quest for daily fantasy football advice but in an odd way Bottom of the Barrel incorporates three ideals I practice often. Setting goals, taking risk, and reassessing my life on a weekly basis. To be successful in DFS we need to be right within as well.

It is time! It is time to start looking at our DFS lines for the Divisional round!

Tom Brady TB @ NO (7th)(FD-$7,700)(DK-$6,300)

Realistically, TB12 has shown no signs of slowing down. While Drew Brees may call is a career after this season

Tom is washed man. It is all over for him. That was cute! Now what? Playoff Tom has been activated! 381 passing yards and two touchdown passes in Tampa’s Wild Card win Saturday.

Baker Mayfield CLE @ KC (25th)(FD-$7,400)(DK-$5,300)

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield

Cleveland does not stand a chance in Kansas City on Sunday, right? Not so fast! The Browns completely laid waste to the Steelers, at Heinz Field nonetheless, on Sunday. Momentum in professional sports is a real thing! The Browns have some major momentum and a ton of confidence right now! It cannot be denied. CLE @ KC also has the highest over/under of the weekend at 56. You are going to want a piece of this game!

Let’s not forget when Baker and Mahomes played against each other college!

Drew Brees NO vs TB (19th)(FD-$7,300)(DK-$5,600)

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees

Another seemingly done noodle arm QB, Drew Brees, got it done last weekend. Now the Saints turn their attention to TB12 and the Tampa Bay Bucs. As a divisional foe, Drew hung 382 total passing yards along with six total touchdowns in two games against Tampa this season. Drew Brees is cheaper source of fantasy points this weekend. Add where needed!

Jared Goff LAR @ GB (3rd)(FD-$6,700)(DK-$5,200)

Los Angeles Rams QB Jared Goff

Throughout the course of the season one thing has become apparent. You either love Goff or you hate him. Which side of the fence are you on? Jared was thrust into action Saturday in Seattle after an awful injury to John Wolford. Goff did enough to help his team advance and here we are.

Cam Akers LAR @ GB (27th)(FD-$7,000)(DK-$5,700)

Los Angeles Rams rookie RB Cam Akers

If I have said it once I have said it a million times, Cam is an elite level talent. What is shocking to me has been all the Hendy vs Akers chatter on social media. I rarely give my personal opinions on social media because it is just not worth the headache. In a way I let the players do their thing and we move on. Cam is seeing a ton of carries and his YPC is extremely healthy! Do not overthink, roster the rookie!

J.K. Dobbins BAL @ BUF (23rd)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$6,000)

Baltimore Ravens rookie RB J.K. Dobbins

Speaking of impressive rookie RB’s, JK is now Baltimore’s RB1. Dobbins is not necessarily racking up the yardage but’s he has been extremely efficient! Scoring a touchdown in seven straight games! Saturday in Buffalo has all the makings of a heavyweight match-up. 50-point o/u with plenty of fantasy points to go around. Please get in on the action!

Ronald Jones II TB @ NO (1st)(FD-$6,300)(DK-$5,200)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones II

RoJo missed Tampa’s Wild Card contest due to a quadricep issue. As it stands now, Jones is still uncertain for Sundays game in New Orleans. Even if he can play is worth it? With only four teams playing our room for error is very slim! A 0.0 at any position this weekend would be devastating.

Leonard Fournette TB @ NO (1st)(FD-$6,300)(DK-$4,900)

Tampa Bay RB Leonard Fournette

In Ronald Jones absence Leo carried the ball nineteen times for ninety-three yards and a touchdown. Like it or not Fournette is best play Sunday for the Buccaneers. With a little bit of Ke’Shawn Vaughn. (FD-$4,700)(DK-$4,000)

Kareem Hunt CLE @ KC (24th)(FD-$6,200)(DK-$4,800)

Cleveland Browns RB Kareem Hunt

Kareem Hunt was outstanding last weekend in the Browns win at Pittsburgh. His talents were on full display. I would imagine Hunt will once again be heavily involved in Kansas City. The combo of Nick Chubb and Hunt have yielded amazing results. Stats and analysis are fun and particularly important but what about the eye test? Kareem sure has passed that one!

Clyde Edwards-Helaire KC vs CLE (5th) (FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,500)

Kansas City Chiefs rookie RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Cleveland is a top-10 defense vs opposing RB’s, so I am not too excited to roster him. Although the rookie RB should be well rested and ready to go. On a positive note, I would expect CEH to see some high-upside type snaps/targets.

Le’Veon Bell KC vs CLE (5th)(FD-$6,000)(DK-$5,100)

Kansas City RB Le’Veon Bell

The only issue I have here with Bell is the presumptive workload. Will he? Won’t he? The Chiefs had a first-round bye obviously and now CEH should be back and ready to go! Best to use the wait and see approach with Bell this week.

Gus Edwards BAL @ BUF (23rd)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,200)

Baltimore Ravens RB Gus Edwards

Baltimore had their way with the Titans on the ground last weekend. Two hundred- and thirty-six-yards rushing yards to be exact. The rushing yards and carries start with Lamar then Dobbins then Gus. One good thing here is the definite pecking order. It is a perfect situation for DFS players like us. There is a safe floor with massive TD upside for Gus this week. Edwards price is too sweet to pass up on in large tournaments this weekend!

Latavius Murray NO vs TB (3rd)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,300)

New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray

Murray has been a nice RB complimentary roster filler all season. Why would that change now? Much like Gus Edwards, you know what you are getting from Latavius each week.

Jamaal Williams GB vs LAR (2nd)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$4,400)

Green Bay Packers RB Jamaal Williams

It is getting harder and harder to roster Jamaal. It is even tough to discuss why we should roster Williams in DFS formats. That coupled with an extremely difficult matchup this week vs the Rams make for an easy decision, just do not. Do not add Jamaal to your DFS teams this weekend. Then in the same breath that makes me want him more. Low ownership and all. I know, it is a sick hobby we have chosen.

Jarvis Landry CLE @ KC (2nd)(FD-$6,900)(DK-$5,600)

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry

Dang! Landry has looked fantastic as of late! Finding the endzone in four times his last six games. Again, stats and analysis will only get you far. Can we all agree the Browns are on one, right? They have some major momentum and are hitting on all cylinders. It is just too heavy to pass up on. Landry needs to be on out DFS teams this weekend.

Antonio Brown TB @ NO (19th)(FD-$6,400)(DK-$5,400)

Tampa Bay Bucs WR Antonio Brown

Obviously, I would prefer Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but their price is not exactly B&B material. AB has clearly built a rapport with TB12 and will continue to see his targets and touches. Although his role has been limited as of late it is best to think ahead and predict a game script. This game has the potential to be a 28-24 final. Or even 35-31. You will want several pieces of this one!

Cooper Kupp LAR @ GB (3rd)(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,300)

Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp

Kupp is ok! Kupp is going to play Saturday in Green Bay. Cooper has bursitis in his knee and will be limited in practice this week. Do not let that deter you from rostering him this weekend. Who knows how the coverage of the Rams WR’s is going to shake out? The idea of the Alexander treatment mixed with his swollen knee just might scare enough people away from Kupp giving those of us who roster him a leverage advantage!

Gabriel Davis BUF vs BAL (5th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,000)

Buffalo Bills rookie WR Gabriel Davis

Word is out! Yet, Gabe’s price on both formats have not really caught up. That is a perfect storm in my eyes! Davis has seen at least four targets their last seven games. While Gabe’s snap count decreased with the return of John Brown how long will that last? May I ask you all a serious question? Who are the Bills WR2 now? Go ahead, answer open and honestly!

Allen Lazard GB vs LAR (1st)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,900)

Green Bay Packers WR Alan Lazard

Lazard has not done much recently. Allen has topped three receptions or twenty yards his last two games. He has not even recorded anything over sixty yards since Green Bay played New Orleans at the end of September. So why should we consider Allen Lazard this week? Green Bay at home in a late afternoon playoff game is too sweet. Aaron Rodgers has been playing at an MVP rate and will do simply fine spreading the ball around. Davante Adams will be busy lined up against Jalen Ramsey forcing Rodgers to be surgical and methodical Saturday. I like that idea!

Rashard Higgins CLE @ KC (2nd)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,100)

Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins

If you remember correctly Cris Collingsworth said during the CLE @ PIT broadcast Sunday night how enamored Baker is to Higgins. So, I investigated it. Rashard has seen twenty-five targets his last four games. In order of games, it has gone 7, 3, 5 and 10 targets wise. It is something we need to pay attention to Sunday in Kansas City.

Deonte Harris NO vs TB (24th)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$3,500)

New Orleans Saints WR Deonte Harris

Fresh off the IR Harries lead the Saints in receptions and receiving yards. While tying in targets. Do I expect this to happen again vs Tampa Bay on Sunday? Absolutely not but I would rather be safe then sorry. Again, small slate equal extraordinarily little wiggle room for error. Harris is safer rostered this weekend than not!

Mercole Hardman KC vs CLE (28th)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$3,900)

Kansas City Chiefs WR Mercole Hardman

Adding Hardman in our lines this weekend is a tough sell. Yet realistically it is not a horrible decision. Once again, has everything to do with the game script, the defense, and the projected point totals.

Equanimeous St. Brown GB vs LAR (1st)(FD-$4,700)(DK-$3,000)

Green Bay WR Equanimeous St. Brown

Nothing special to say here. Just the fact I believe Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers have their way with the Rams on Saturday. This one could wind up where Rodgers distributes the ball so well every single WR gets in on the fun. Just a thought.

Robert Tonyan GB vs LAR (17th)(FD-$6,200)(DK-$4,200)

Green Bay Packers TE Robert Tonyan

Tonyan catches touchdowns. That is what he does. That is, it. End of blurb.

Rob Gronkowski TB @ NO (26th)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$3,600)

Tampa Bay Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski

Playoff Gronk has yet to make an appearance. Rob gave us a steaming pile of 0.0 last weekend. Was it game flow? Was it match-up based? Whatever it was I do not expect it to continue this weekend in New Orleans. Yet, I passionately believe Gronks 0.0 performance is still fresh enough to push DFS players away this weekend. Just in time for a two-touchdown celebration on our rosters!

Jared Cook NO vs TB (21st)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$4,000)

New Orleans Saints TE Jared Cook

There he is! Again! Cook tied for the team lead in targets (7) last weekend and yet I have not heard a peep about him. Am I comfortable playing Jared this week vs the Bucs? I am fully fading on Fanduel, but he is a full send on Draftkings this weekend. All pricing related.

Austin Hooper CLE @ KC (30th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$3,800)

Cleveland Browns TE Austin Hooper

Hooper has picked up the pace in terms of production. He caught 7-of-11 targets Sunday night in Pittsburgh. Let us not get overzealous though, all Browns players got in on the fun. Austin has seen a whopping 31 targets in the last three games and has gone over at least 10.5 fantasy points during that time.

Tyler Higbee LAR @ GB (5th)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$3,000)

Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee

Please do not play Tyler Higbee this weekend. Only reason I added him in this space is to finally close my personal folder on him. He has been the odd man out what looks like all season. The fact he is over $5,000 on Fanduel is laughable.

Dawson Knox BUF vs BAL (7th)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$3,100)

Buffalo Bills TE Dawson Knox

Despite popular belief, Dawson Knox is now a thing. No way around it folks. The Buffalo Bills are humming on offense and we should stake claim to as many pieces of this offense as possible! Knox is no exception!

Cameron Brate TB @ NO (26th)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$2,900)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate

Brate caught four of six targets for eighty yards in Wild Card weekend. Is there a chance it is going to be Gronk or Brate each week? Back and forth? Who knows, that sounds exhausting. Just keep an eye out when you are building lines for the divisional round. The potential and the price are ripe for the picking!

Harrison Bryant CLE @ KC (30th)(FD-$4,400)(DK-$2,500)

Cleveland Browns rookie TE Harrison Bryant

Shot in the dark here. Harrison was not target Sunday night vs Pittsburgh after being activated from the COVID-IR. He only played 22 snaps as well. It is obvious why; the entire team was dealing with COVID scares and quarantines. It is no secret I normally punt the TE spot and Bryant is on my radar as a flyer!

Here are some of my sample lines I am going to use for the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs! Keep in mind these lines are for entertainment purposes! Please play responsible!

Fanduel 1/16 4:35p SAT-SUN

Bottom of the Barrel Wild Card Weekend

Bottom of the Barrel Wild Card Weekend
Chris Robin

We’re on the verge of a new season! The post-season!

Balance? Ever heard of it? Well, it takes me longer to find it compared to others but in doing so, you’ll learn a lot about yourself along the way. I learned two things. I’m afraid of failing and I’m afraid of success. It’s an odd scenario right? It’s either one or the other I told myself. Few months back I had to take an honest look at myself.

What’s the opposite of fear? Took me months to figure it out. So while soul searching I asked myself a few questions…

What is my purpose? What is my calling? What am I passionate about?

After taking an honest hard look at myself I came to one conclusion. I just need to have hope. Faith is the opposite of fear! With some some faith in my life, those questions become meaningless. The only piece of the puzzle I need is hope and the rest will come!

That’s what every DFS fan has to start each new slate! Hope and faith that this roster is the one to hit big! Now multiple that by a million to start a completely different sport! With that comes a new attitude and a new commitment for knowledge.

The playoffs are odd. The playoffs are exciting. In some cases, they go exactly as planned. Yet they are completely off the wall. It’s time! Let’s dig into the Super Duper Wild Card weekend!

Mitchell Trubisky CHI @ NO (8th)(FD-$6,900)(DK-$5,300)

Chicago Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky

Mitch has had a good run for the Bears this season. He was the starter then Nick Foles then back to starting QB. The Bears have snuck into the playoffs as a Wild Card. On Sunday they travel to New Orleans and no one is really expecting much from them.

Philip Rivers IND @ BUF (13th)(FD-$6,900)(DK-$5,400)

Indianapolis Colts WR Phil Rivers

Phil has done just enough to get the Colts into the playoffs. Let us be honest, rookie RB Jonathan Taylor has played a huge role in the Colts successful season. The Buffalo Bills are steamrolling people which is a positive for Phil here. Likely playing from behind and forced to throw is a great move for Phil. He has always been a slinger. That is where he is most comfortable!

Baker Mayfield CLE @ PIT (2nd)(FD-$6,700)(DK-$5,400)

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield

The Cleveland Browns are in the playoffs! What? This game should be a hard-hitting slobber knocker. Sorry my old WWF roots come out in the most inopportune times. Cleveland and Baker are in for one heck of a fight on Sunday. This contest is going to be competitive down to the last snap.

Alex Smith WSH vs TB (16th)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$5,100)

Washington Football Team QB Alex Smith

Is the Washington Football Team a feel-good story this season? I know Alex Smith playing is! This game is going to be closer than people expect! The dink and dunk style of Smith should play well at home against Tampa.

Cam Akers LAR @ SEA (15th)(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,100)

Los Angeles Rams rookie RB Cam Akers

Cam active in week 17 but did not do much. 21 carries for 34 yards. If we do the math that is a 1.6 ypc (yards per carry) clip. Not good! Yet on Saturday this kid should have a lot more room to run. He is elusive. He is electric and coach McVay has no issue giving him a large workload.

Kareem Hunt CLE @ PIT (3rd)(FD-$5,900)(DK-$4,800)

Cleveland Browns RB Kareem Hunt

I am not an NFL coach. Do not think it takes an NFL coach to see what Cleveland must do to win on Sunday. Hammer home running the ball. Nick Chubb has been outstanding running the ball all season. While Hunt is just around to assist. If Cleveland can work in Hunt a successful day can be had.

Gus Edwards BAL @ TEN (26th)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,400)

Baltimore Ravens RB Gus Edwards

Gus has become the RB2 behind rookie RB Dobbins. Gus has totaled 36 carries in his last three games. Meaning, a 10+ carry day is on tap Sunday in Tennessee. The Titans are a formidable foe, but they give up 26.93 points a game along with an average of 104.5 rushing yards a contest.

Nyheim Hines IND @ BUF (22nd)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$4,700)

Indianapolis Colts RB Nyheim Hines

Right now, for the Colts it is the JT show. Yet Hines lead the team in receptions, receiving yards and targets in week 17. If the Colts want any chance at upsetting the red-hot Bills they must be firing on all cylinders. Could Hines be the key to unlocking that?

Zack Moss BUF vs IND (11th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,600)

Buffalo Bills rookie RB Zack Moss

Moss is no stranger to Bottom of the Barrel. It is no secret Moss and Singletary have basically been used in tandem all season. Let us not overreact to Zack’s minimal usage in week 17. Looks like it was just a rest and relaxation type of thing. I am going out a limb here to say that Moss will see a heavy uptick in usage on Saturday. At the price it is something we cannot gloss over.

J.D. McKissic WSH vs TB (4th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,800)

Washington Football Team RB J.D. McKissic

I do not have any kids, but I have always heard about parents saying they have no favorites. Well, McKissic is a favorite of mine! JD finished the season with 80 total receptions and should be on your radar Saturday night. Tampa Bay is 4th overall against opposing RB but with McKissic catching passes that would mean he is more of a WR. Tampa is 19th overall vs WR’s.

Latavius Murray NO vs CHI (10th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,500)

New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray

Murray did not play in week 17. Alvin was out too. Both with in close contact to COVID. Both New Orleans Saints RB are eligible to return after ten days. Sunday the 10th is exactly ten days. They will need to pass several tests including a cardiac screening prior to kick-off. It is an issue worth monitoring.

Mark Ingram II BAL @ TEN (26th)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$4,000)

Baltimore Ravens RB Mark Ingram

Rookie running back JK Dobbins has matured and become the Ravens RB1 faster than expected. We all saw this coming! Yet something tells me Baltimore will give Mark some carries in this one! The ole crafty veteran RB in the playoffs is indispensable right?

Benny Snell Jr. PIT vs CLE (7th)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$4,200)

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Benny Snell Jr.

We do not normally put players down and throw people under the bus here at Bottom of the Barrel, but James Connor is not it. James had another slow and quite week. While Steeler head coach Mike Tomlin did say how he wanted to get Snell more involved. Well, that has not happened yet. Pittsburgh is primed and ready to roll in the playoffs but what is their identity? I have a sneaking suspicion Benny rips off one heck of a game Sunday.

Alex Collins SEA vs LAR (5th)(FD-$4,800)(DK-$4,000)

Seattle Seahawks RB Alex Collins

Football is a funny sport. DFS is even more wacky! A 26-year-old running back like Collins get a crack at carrying the ball this season after some injuries and illnesses and here we are! Limited carries (2,11 and 5) yet back-to-back games with a touchdown. There is little to no upside here. More like an educated punt play.

Rashaad Penny SEA vs LAR (5th)(FD-$4,800)(DK-$4,000)

Seattle Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny

This is the NFL Playoffs it is not wise to punt or stray too far from the studs. That is exactly what losing DFS players will tell you. A few quick searches and you will see Penny has taken on a larger role each week since his return. Penny makes for a nice compliment this weekend at home vs the Rams.

Anthony McFarland Jr. PIT vs CLE (7th)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$4,000)

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Anthony McFarland Jr.

What are the chances rookie RB McFarland Jr. getting any amount of substantial work Sunday night? Not high! Not likely! On the off-chance Tomlin switches gears mid-game then there is no reason to roster Anthony.

Chase Claypool PIT vs CLE (24th)(FD-$6,100)(DK-$5,200)

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie WR Chase Claypool

We have all heard social media telling us it is tough to choose what PIT WR will go off week-to-week. Yet the targets for Claypool have been steady! His last four games the targets are as follows; 6, 8, 6 and 11. Chase will get a rematch vs the Cleveland Browns on Sunday night and I could not be more excited!

Darnell Mooney CHI @ NO (22nd)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$3,900)

Chicago Bears rookie WR Darnell Mooney

Mooney has had a fantastic rookie year. Capping off his 2020 season catching 11 of 13 targets for 93 yards. More importantly, Sunday in New Orleans, the Chicago Bears will need to keep pace with Brees and the loaded Saints offense.

Zach Pascal IND @ BUF (5th)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$3,700)

Indianapolis Colts WR Zach Pascal

No one has mentioned Zach and his last three games. Ten receptions and three touchdowns. Sometimes DFS is about the match-up more than the actual player. I know, it sounds silly but that is what we have here for Pascal. Buffalo should hang 30+ points in this one forcing Phil and Pascal to be heavily involved.

Michael Pittman Jr. IND @ BUF (5th)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$3,500)

Indianapolis Colts rookie WR Michael Pittman Jr.

Pittman Jr. has ridden the rookie WR wave in terms of production, but the talent is there! The same could be said for Pittman as stated for Pascal. It is no secret, but I am going to be stacking Colts this weekend.

Gabriel Davis BUF vs IND (17th)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$4,000)

Buffalo Bills rookie WR Gabriel Davis

Now we are talking! Davis has seen four or more targets in Buffalo’s last six games. You will want any and all pieces of this offense you can get your hands-on Saturday.

Miles Boykin BAL @ TEN (31st)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$3,400)

Baltimore Ravens WR Miles Boykin

Boykin is not going to pile up PPR points, but he seems to be good for at least one or two deep routes a game.

Cordarrelle Patterson CHI @ NO (22nd)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$3,000)

Chicago Bears WR Cordarrelle Patterson

Patterson has been a fantastic real-life player for Chicago all season. He sees a mix of receptions, running routes, carrying the football and even special team’s work. His snap count has diminished a touch but again Chicago finds themselves in a touch spot on Sunday in New Orleans.

Isaiah McKenzie BUF vs IND (17th)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$3,300)

Buffalo Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie

Speaking of underappreciated dart throws, Isaiah McKenzie! In the absence of Cole Beasley McKenzie saw work from the slot. Last I checked Beasley is still day-to-day. Will he play? Won’t he play? I am not one to wait around, so I am locking in Isaiah this weekend.

Cam Sims WSH vs TB (19th)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$3,900)

Washington Football Team WR Cam Sims

Cam has really come on strong as of late. To the tune of 19 receptions his last five games. Sims is by no means a world beater or stud WR, yet, but he is earned a larger role moving forward. No time like the present! Wild Card weekend!

Marquez Callaway NO vs CHI (8th)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$3,100)

New Orleans WR Marquez Callaway

The Saints have dealt with offensive injuries all season. Opening some sort of work for Callaway. He is seen back-to-back four target games and his pricing on both sites is perfect!

Cole Kmet CHI @ NO (26th)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$3,000)

Chicago Bears rookie TE Cole Kmet

Cole has been learning and growing in this offense all season. Kmet has tallied 22 total targets the last four weeks. The Saints are not all that good against opposing TE’s. It is a perfect storm on Sunday afternoon.

Jonnu Smith TEN vs BAL (11th)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$3,200)

Tennessee Titans TE Jonnu Smith

Jonnu has flamed out. Started out strong and just flopped. Large in part to an injury. Yet at this time of the season in DFS we need to build the best possible lines. By now hopefully you are aware of my propensity to punt tight ends. The upside for Jonnu is too high to pass.

Jimmy Graham CHI @ NO (26th)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$3,300)

Chicago Bears veteran TE Jimmy Graham

Revenge game? Look, sometimes we must cling to anything and everything positive. Jimmy has not played for New Orleans since 2014. Jimmy has scored eight touchdowns this season. Not to mention two multi-TD games. It is Wild Card weekend! Let us get wild! Would we dare stack Chicago tight ends?

Dawson Knox BUF vs IND (6th)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$3,200)

Buffalo Bills TE Dawson Knox

Social media has talked down about Knox. Let us not make him a thing to be specific. While I understand, I do not agree. This Buffalo Bills offense is high powered and certain players get lost in the shuffle. There should be no issue taking a flier on Knox Saturday.

Jacob Hollister SEA vs LAR (16th)(FD-$4,700)(DK-$2,700)

Seattle Seahawks TE Jacob Hollister

At this stage of the article what more can we say? The positive here, Hollister has scored a touchdown in back-to-back weeks! This game is going to be tight. Separated by three or four points.

Jack Doyle IND @ BUF (30th)(FD-$4,500)(DK-$2,900)

Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle

The Colts have several passable players at tight end. Trey Burton and Mo Al-Cox to be specific. Yet I passionately believe Doyle is the guy the lean on at the position in Buffalo on Saturday.

Cameron Brate TB @ WSH (7th)(FD-$4,500)(DK-$2,700)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate

Again, nothing fancy just a punt-able play with upside this week at tight end. Playoff Gronk and playoff Brady are a thing to behold! Who is to say Brate cannot see a little action?

Vance McDonald PIT vs CLE (25th)(FD-$4,500)(DK-$4,500)

Pittsburgh Steelers TE Vance McDonald

Only mentioning Vance in the case Eric Ebron is still out on the COVID-IR for Sunday nights game. If that is the case, then let us give McDonald a shot.

Anthony Firkser TEN vs BAL (11th)(FD-$4,400)(DK-$2,700)

Tennessee Titans TE Anthony Firkser

If you have an issue with Jonnu then let us turn our attention to Firkser! Did Jonnu screw you over in your seasonal leagues? Have a negative interaction with him? Then Firkser is your tight end! BAL @ TEN has the highest o/u of the weekend. Sitting at 54 total points. I am easy to please, so this sways it for me!

Lee Smith BAL vs IND (6th)(FD-$4,200)(DK-$2,500)

Buffalo Bills TE Lee Smith

I am not trying to fool anyone here. Lee is 100% in Bottom of the Barrel because of his week 16 performance. At least we now know the Bills have some sort of room for him on the field!

Here are some of my sample lines I am going to use for Super Wild Card Weekend! Keep in mind these lines are for entertainment purposes! Please play responsible!

Fanduel 1/9 Sat-Sun

Also look for updated lines closer to lock on Saturday morning 1/9/21! Also Sunday morning 1/10/21!

How fast has this season gone by to you? In most cases week 17 is easier to navigate then other weeks during the season. Playoff spots are locked up. Several good players are rested in preparation of the actual NFL playoffs. Thus, creating massive value with backup players!

It has been a wild season. So many ups and so many downs yet we’ve made it.

Let me swift through this week for you! Patrick Mahomes has already been given the day off! So has Ben Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh. Going to be an odd Sunday!

What’s shocking is the fact I keep writing “new feature” in Bottom of the Barrel to mention the most expensive player at each position. Yet here we are, last week of the regular season. That is how fast this season has gone!

Lamar Jackson BAL @ CIN (14th)(FD-$9,000)(DK-$8,000)

Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson

Here are some cheaper options at QB in week 17!

Russell Wilson SEA @ SF (7th)(FD-$7,500)(DK-$7,300)

Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson

Mr. Unlimited has made his way into Bottom of the Barrel? Trust me, I am just as shocked as you are! Seattle has already locked up the NFC West division. Let us hope HC Pete Carrol opens the playbook to get the guys ready for the playoffs!

Drew Brees NO @ CAR (16th)(FD-$7,400)(DK-$5,900)

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees

Drew looked sharper in last week’s contest after his extended layoff. This week will be all about knocking the rust off and getting to sharpen the blade for the NFC playoffs.

Another Week come and gone and my second to last installment of my NFL Playoff predictions are here with lots of changes to both conferences as well as some new fantasy player value changes. Let me know what you think, and if this is the playoff bracket you could see going down!

Fantasy Value Up: ↗
Fantasy Value Down: ↘
Fantasy Value No Change: −

1. Detroit Lions: 25 v Tennessee Titans: 46

Detroit bit the big one weeks ago. Yet still could not contain Derrick Henry on Sunday.

Derrick Henry once again reminded us why he is the king, and Ryan Tannehill lit up the skies simultaneously throwing for 273 yards and 3 pass touchdowns finally dethroning anyone who claims Tannehill is riding on the coat tail of Henry. (including myself) The Ball was spread around a lot, and though he didn’t throw the ball a lot, he was deadly accurate making multiple deep passes count. Despite their run heavy game, Tannehill has been relatively steady in his production and remains a top 10 option moving forward. There’s not too many negatives about this Tennessee offense, all of their starters ought to be reliable floor streamers week in and out with the exception of Jonnu Smith and 3rd team receivers who tend to have dry spells since Vrabel’s game script is generally pretty run heavy when the Titans lead by halftime.

As for the Lions, DFS stacks involving Stafford and one of his receivers continue to please. The battered yet determined Stafford is a once of kind leader, and one we don’t see too often, routinely playing through various injuries, his performance is remarkable, however he remains a fringe fantasy play especially for those in the championship game. Much like the Titans, this Lions team is starting to move to the ground game as its primary means of attack. D’andre swift has effortlessly cemented his role as lead back and continues to fill in with the help of legendary future hall of famer Adrian Peterson. However, Detroit fantasy owners should be weary of starting anyone on the ground against Tampa Bay in week 15 and their brick wall run defense. Look to Stafford to air it out again, especially to Hockenson and Marvin Jones who dominated his target share against Tennessee

2. LA Rams: 20 v NY Jets: 23

Jared Goff and the LA Rams were the laughing stock of the league after losing to New York Jets.

For the first time in the 2020 season the Jets have a win, and they earned it against one of the best defenses in the league, nonetheless. Unfortunately for Jets fans this does not come with too much excitement given they’ve since been pushed back in first round draft placement. Honestly…I wouldn’t think too much of it. Teams have down weeks sometimes, this one probably the result of “easy opponent” mindset. You can best believe that Sean McVay and co will tighten up all ends of their game plan as they coast into playoff contention. However, this fault in the chemistry and overall lack of explosiveness on offense is enough for me to rethink their playoff potential. If it is enough for a team like the Jets to expose, its enough to keep you out of the race for a ring. Oh boy was it was embarrassing.

Despite the win, Sam Darnold and company really did not get much going on offense. Sam threw only his 6th passing TD and garnered another fumble too. Frank gore got a TD on the ground, but that was a fluke score. Both teams played very modest and un-interesting games. Fans on both sides went home upset. Quite frankly, in terms of fantasy I’d say its best to pretend like this game didn’t even happen. Most of these guys are desperation plays anyways and if you’re on your way to the championship you probably have some better options.

Jamison Crowder − Robert Woods ↗
Denzel Mims − Cooper Kupp ↗
Chris Hogan ↘ Tyler Higbee −
Christopher Herndon ↘ Gerald Everett −

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 31 v Atlanta Falcons: 27

The Atlanta Falcons once again could not seal the deal. As Tampa Bay overcame at 17 point deficit to win on Sunday.

Down by 17 late in the game, this victory by Brady seemed all too familiar. Granted this was just a regular season divisional game and not the Super Bowl. Nevertheless, the Falcons easily exposed Tampa’s holes and rose to 24-7 before Tom Brady once again proved to us why he has earned the title “The Goat”. Now 43, Tom Brady has put the Buccaneers In the fight for what would be his 10th title run. Despite the Falcons pitfalls, both Matt Ryan and Brady shared similar passing stats and should maintain their pace of airing it out as both teams routinely play from behind.

Leonard Fournette filled in well for the COVID/Reserve designated Ronald Jones. But fantasy owners should expect Lenny to take a back seat when Ronald Jones returns. The expectation crushing Todd Gurley was also irrelevant, and interim Falcons HC Raheem Morris alluded to Ito Smith being the premier back from here on out too. Lots of mix ups late in the season, certainly not the last for this team going into the off season. For now, the array of passing threats from both teams remain top streaming options. Both quarterbacks throw the ball frequently, accurately, ensuring a modest game from nearly every 1st and 2nd team passing option even at their floor.

Ronald Jones ↗ Todd Gurley ↘
Leonard Fournette ↘ Ito Smith ↗
Mike Evans ↗ Julio Jones −
Chris Godwin ↗ Russell Gage −
