Bottom of the Barrel WK8

Bottom of the Barrel WK8
Chris Robin

Fall is my favorite time of the year. Here in Michigan it’s gorgeous. Trees turn dozens of different colors. Picking pumpkins on a Saturday afternoon is the move. Drinking hot cider at an apple orchard is where people meet. Taking photos with your family while sitting on bales of hay is cute.

Then there’s me.

Michael Myers

Watching vicious and gory horror movies. Turing off the lights inside and watching Michael Myers slay everyone in his path. We are not the same. That’s ok! We’re all connected in other ways! We both love football! We both enjoy DFS! That’s the beauty of all this! We can have different lifestyles and differ in opinions yet still remain cordial and respectful!

Bottom of the Barrel has been rolling all season! Week 8 is no exception! B&B is jam packed this week!

Not new anymore but here’s the most expensive player at QB in week 8. Should help put B&B prices into perspective!

Patrick Mahomes KC @ NYJ (14th)(FD-$9,200)(DK-$7,400)

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

Here are some cheaper options I’m considering at QB!

Derek Carr LV @ CLE (25th)(FD-$7,300)(DK-$5,500)

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr

Though all the interactions I’ve had on social media one thing is clear about Carr. You’re either a fan or you dislike him. There is no in-between. I’m expecting a big week 8 for Derek Carr. The Vegas Raiders head to Cleveland. The Browns let rookie QB Joe Burrow score 4 times! While their defense also gave up 406 total yards and didn’t force a single turnover! Let’s look at Derek’s last three games. OCT 4 vs. BUF (9th) 20.44 points. OCT 11th @ KC (11th) 24.98 points. OCT 25th vs. TB (15th) 20.26. Derek Carr is very nice play Sunday with a nice safe floor!

Baker Mayfield CLE vs. LV (28th)(FD-$7,200)(DK-$6,100)

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield

Holy smokes! It’s happening! Right? Baker tossed 5 TD passes in week 7 but lost Odell for the season. Can we trust him? Is he for real? Who knows! What I do care about is the match-up Sunday vs. Vegas. It hurts losing OBJ but it has opened up major WR value at other spots in the offense! Stay tuned! Keep reading!

Drew Lock DEN v LAC (29th)(FD-$7,000)(DK-$5,300)

Denver Broncos QB Drew Lock

DFS is all about assessing risk and taking chances. Lock was intercepted twice yesterday by a very good KC team. In week 8 things get a little easier against the lax defense of the Chargers. LAC has given us 30+ points in two straight games.

Tua Tagovailoa MIA vs. LAR (10th)(FD-$6,800)(DK-$5,600)

Miami Dolphins rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa

No need to go wild here in my explanation. It’s very easy! We’ve waited six months for this exact moment! Fantasy football should be fun! Playing Tua in our DFS lines for week 8 is fun!

Nick Foles CHI vs. NO (27th)(FD-$6,700)(DK-$5,800)

Chicago Bears QB Nick Foles

B&B is fantastic isn’t it? No I’m not taking this moment to promote the article. It’s fantastic in the sense I can mention Foles, be completely serious, and get away with it! Foles is throwing the ball around 40 times a game but has only tossed 1 TD per game his last three. With that kind of volume and his price tag, Big D Nick certainly has my attention!

Jimmy Garoppolo SF @ SEA (31st)(FD-$6,600)(DK-$5,400)

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo

The 49ers really beat the hell out of the Patriots! Final score 33-6! Meaning Jimmy G had one heck of game through the air right? Well this is awkward! Don’t worry I’m fully expecting Jimmy G. to have his way with the lowly ranked Seahawks defense!

Not new anymore but here’s the most expensive player at RB in week 8. Should help put B&B prices into perspective!

Derrick Henry TEN @ CIN (18th)(FD-$9,500)(DK-$8,000)

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry

Here are some cheaper options I’m considering at RB!

Myles Gaskin MIA vs. LAR (11th)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$5,200)

Miami Dolphins RB Myles Gaskin

I’m honestly shocked at his price. Has to be because they were on bye in week 8. Regardless lets take advantage. Myles has averaged 13.6 carries and 4.5 receptions a game. He’s also caught 27 of his 29 targets! (93.1%) Kid has an honest shot at a top-10 RB type week here! Sub-6k? Has homerun written all over it!

Zack Moss BUF vs. NE (21st)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,400)

Buffalo Bills rookie RB Zack Moss

Moss made the most of his targets Sunday in New York but that’s not saying much given their point total. Josh Allen has been taking a ton of the rushing work but hey that’s so 2020! Between the two, Moss and Singletary, I’m going to side with the cheaper player. The Pats let Phil Lindsay and Melvin Gordon run for a combined 169 rushing yards. Why can’t Moss/Singletary have the same success?

JaMycal Hasty SF @ SEA (12th)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$5,000)

San Francisco 49ers RB JaMycal Hasty

Well Hasty looks to be the last man standing in this SF back field at the moment! After Jeff Wilson Jr. went down with an ankle injury Hasty averaged 6.3 yards a carry vs. the Patriots. His price is a little higher then I’d like but us beggars cant be choosers!

James White NE @ BUF (17th)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,500)

New England Patriots RB James White

White didn’t log a carry in week 7 and he was only on the field for 10 offensive snaps. He did miss Wednesday and Thursdays practice leading up to week 7 so I understand. Looking ahead to week 8 I’d be shocked if he wasn’t heavily involved. A divisional game with an up-and-coming Bills team could be just what the doctor ordered for their competitiveness!

Carlos Hyde SEA vs. SF (1st)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$5,300)

Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde

Hyde is a very capable RB. Chris Carson left Sunday nights game with an apparent ankle injury. Carlos scored a 24 yard TD following Carson’s exit. It’s an issue to monitor throughout the week.

Nyheim Hines IND @ DET (28th)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$4,000)

Indianapolis Colts RB Nyheim Hines

It looks as if Hines has fully taken over the RB2 duties in this offense behind Taylor. The Colts head to Detroit on Sunday in what should be a pass heavy air affair. That’s great news for Hines and his fantasy prospects!

DeeJay Dallas SEA vs. SF (1st)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$4,000)

Seattle Seahawks rookie RB DeeJay Dallas

As I said Monday Hyde did something to his hamstring. As we get later and later into the week he stills holds the Q tag. In the even Hyde can’t play DeeJay should get a ton of work! Travis Homer is still nursing a knee contusion. It’s not an idea match-up with the 49ers but you know what I say about volume!

J.K. Dobbins BAL vs. PIT (2nd)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$4,600)

Baltimore Ravens rookie RB J.K. Dobbins

Mark Ingram still hasn’t practiced! Even with the Ravens on bye week Mark hasn’t progressed much it seems. Leaving Gus and JK has their one-two combo. We’ve all had a little taste of the rookie but left scratching out heads about his usage. If Mark is out Sunday, Dobs will be in plenty of my lineups!

Gus Edwards BAL vs. PIT (2nd)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$4,400)

Baltimore Ravens RB Gus Edwards

If any of you have a handle on what’s going on in this Baltimore backfield please speak now. The Ravens were on bye in week 7 allowing Mark Ingram to rest his ankle injury. Although initial reports still have Mark’s status up in the air for week 8. If Mark is ruled out any time before Sunday Gus becomes a glorious play at his price!

Darwin Thompson KC vs. NYJ (26th)(FD-$4,500)(DK-$4,000)

Kansas City Chiefs RB Darwin Thompson

Strictly a gut call here. We all know what’s going to happen in this one. KC will undoubtedly beat the hell out of the Jets. Hello garbage time for Darwin!

Davante Adams GB vs. MIN (30th)(FD-$9,100)(DK-$8,800)

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams

Here are some cheaper options I’m considering at WR!

Brandon Aiyuk SF @ SEA (32nd)(FD-$5,900)(DK-$5,800)

San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk

Aiyuk is a little too expensive for B&B but the price, match-up and work load is too sweet not to mention. Brandon caught 6 passes for 115 yards on Sunday. Furthermore, Deebo Samuel left with a hamstring injury and will, “miss some time” as HC Kyle Shanahan said in an interview after the game.

A.J. Green CIN vs. TEN (29th)(FD-$5,800)(DK-$4,500)

Cincinnati Bengals WR A.J. Green

Green tied Tyler Boyd in targets on Sunday. This Cincinnati offense looks as if they’ve passed AJ by. Is that the truth? What do I know? Hopefully other DFS players think that and while AJ’s price has fallen below $6,000 the time to use him is now!

Jarvis Landry CLE vs. LV (23rd)(FD-$5,800)(DK-$5,600)

Cleveland Browns WR Jarvis Landry

Odell Beckham Jr. is out for the season. Need I say more?

Henry Ruggs III LV @ CLE (31st)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,900)

Las Vegas Raiders rookie WR Henry Ruggs III

Ruggs III has only three targets in each of his last three games. Fellow rookie wipeouts, Higgins, Lamb and Jefferson have all enjoyed breakouts and continued success. It’s now Henry’s turn! The breakout party is this Sunday in Cleveland. You’re all cordially invited!

Mercole Hardman KC vs. NYJ (12th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,700)

Kansas City Chiefs WR Mercole Hardman

Demarcus Robinson KC vs. NYJ (12th)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$3,100)

Kansas City Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson

I’m going to do a combo platter here with these two men. Both reasonably priced for a slaughter fest in week 8. Yeah you can grab Hill, who hasn’t had a 100 yard receiving game this season, or you can mix-n-match one of these guys! Choose wisely!

Rashard Higgins CLE vs. LV (23rd)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$4,200)

Cleveland Browns WR Rashard Higgins

Donovan Peoples-Jones CLE vs. LV (23rd)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$3,800)

Cleveland Browns rookie WR Donovan Peoples-Jones

What do we call a back-to-back combo platter? Have we entered buffet territory? No idea seeing how I’m making it all up as I go! If you scroll up and look at Landry’s profile that’s all we need to say. In the wake of OBJ’s injury rookie WR DPJ scored a TD. While Higgins has caught 10 of 11 targets for 149 yards and 2 TD’s. Not to sound rude but this offense, and Baker, look better without Odell.

Marcus Johnson IND @ DET (25th)(FD-$4,500)(DK-$3,000)

Indianapolis Colts WR Marcus Johnson

Marcus led the team in targets, catches and receiving yards in week 7! Where did this guy come from? The Colts travel to Detroit Sunday and I wouldn’t be shocked to see MJ get another 6-7 targets. These are all high upside and meaningful targets too! For the minimum prices he’s locked and loaded!

Cole Beasley BUF vs. NE (13th)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$5,300)

Buffalo Bills WR Cole Beasley

11 catches on 12 targets for 112 yards. 4 catches on 7 targets for 45 yards and a TD. Those are Cole’s last two stat lines. Clearly he’s a fantastic grab as a check down specialist in Buffalo! On Fanduel he’s averaging 11.2 fantasy points a game! What a fantastic floor for a guy at $5,300!

Darnell Mooney CHI vs. NO (20th)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$3,500)

Chicago Bears rookie WR Darnell Mooney

The fantasy points will come for the rookie. I promise you! He’s operated as the Bears WR2 behind Allen Robinson. The Chicago Bears aren’t exactly the greatest show on turf but at 5-1 they are doing something right!

Jalen Guyton LAC @ DEN (16th)(FD-$5,100)(DK-$3,600)

Los Angeles Chargers rookie WR Jalen Guyton

Another game another long bomb TD for the kid! As rookie dynamo QB Justin Herbert develops and grows he’s taking everyone with him! Clearly there is a connection here! Lets explore it all and see where it goes!

Denzel Mims NYJ @ KC (FD-$4,900)(DK-$3,200)

New York Jets rookie WR Denzel Mims

The highly touted rookie made an immediate impact in week 7. Catching four of his seven targets for 42yds. This Jet’s team doesn’t have much going on. The fact Mims is healthy and finally playing is a nice little nugget of optimism. I’d imagine he’s now their WR1. Like it or not. Good or bad.

Jalen Reagor PHI vs. DAL (27th)(FD-$5,600)(3,600)

Philadelphia Eagles rookie WR Jalen Reagor

Moments ago Eagles head coach, Doug Pederson, said Jalen is now back at practice! There are a few hurdles ahead for the rookie to play Sunday night. Each hurdle can be passed if the kid works hard and shows team doctors he’s healthy! A Sunday night match up vs. the hapless Dallas defense could be one heck of a welcome back party!

Travis Kelce KC @ NYJ (17th)(FD-$7,900)(DK-$6,600)

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce

Here are some cheaper options I’m considering at TE!

Albert Okwuegbuam DEN vs. LAC (18th)(FD-$4,700)(DK-$2,800)

Denver Broncos rookie TE Albert Okwuegbunam

Did anyone else see this Sunday? Fant clearly isn’t 100% and his ankle is still bothering him. The rookie stepped out and did a good job of it! Looking ahead to week 8 the Chargers have given up 4 TD’s to opposing TE’s!

Donald Parham Jr. LAC @ DEN (12th)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$3,000)

Los Angeles Chargers TE Donald Parham Jr.

Scroll up and read Jalen Guyton profile. Herbert is doing wonders for this team! He’s taking everybody to the promise land!

Will Dissly SEA vs. SF (8th)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$2,800)

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly

Nothing fun to say here. No good stats to mention. Punt play only. In the wake of the Chris Carson injury there is an off chance SEA might have to throw more. Making Will good for what? 2-3 receptions for 30-40 yards? Even that ambitious but not out of the question!

Durham Smythe MIA vs. LAR (22nd)(FD-$4,100)(DK-$2,500)

Miami Dolphins TE Durham Smythe

Do you trust me? Do you enjoy B&B? That’s good! Great news! Know let me sell you on Durham Smythe! This offense should look completely different with Tua at QB. I’m not saying better, just different. They always say a TE is a nice safety blanket for a rookie TE!

Here are two of my sample lines I’m going to use for week 8! Keep in mind these lines are for entertainment purposes! Please play responsible!

Fanduel 1p 11/1 MAIN

Also look for updated lines closer to lock on Sunday morning 11/1!

Draftkings 1p 11/1 MAIN

2020 MASSIVE Fantasy Football Breakouts

2020 Fantasy Football Breakouts
Chris Robin

The NFL season is still far away but what else are we supposed to do? I love reading rankings and projections but I need more! Mock drafts are cool. So are rookie mock drafts. I need more! What about fantasy football mock drafts? How many of those do you normally do? What’s an outrageous number before people say your obsessed?

I still need more. Breakouts and sleepers? Does that move the needle? Now we’re talking right? I’ll be honest breakouts are my favorite! So are bold predictions! For the sake of what I’m trying to do now lets focus on breakouts!

As we move closer the NFL draft you will start to see more content popping up. Mock drafts galore, tiered rankings and rookie projections. At a certain point it’ll make your head spin. If you’re like me you have your favorites. Favorite website, favorite writer and favorite articles.

I’m of the old adage, “No such thing as too much content!” Until now! Listen, hear me out! This time of the year there is just so much content. It’s hard to wade through all of it. The excitement in spring is so high that anyone and everyone picks up a pen and goes to town. Once the season starts and we get into the thick of the NFL season there will be a ton of drop off.

We all have our favorites! Keep following and show love to your favorite writer or comment on your favorite article! I can’t speak for anyone else but I love it! I’m very appreciative and quite grateful to all of you.

Enough with the games! I’m ready to get into some breakout and sleeper candidates for the 2020 NFL season! I brought along some friends too! Same crew as well! David Reed, KJ Baker, Ethan Cowlbeck and Ben Anderson!

First up is David Reed! Same guy who beat me in our 2019 fantasy championship game. I harbor no ill will. Plus he just adopted a hairless cat. Follow him here!

Daniel Jones New York Giants
Drew Lock Denver Broncos
Dwayne Haskins Washington Redskins
New York Giants QB Daniel Jones
After an impressive rookie year Daniel Jones should continue to grow in the system. If the Giants continue to beef up the O-Line it should give Jones more time to pass and fumble less.Lock had a few impressive starts last season.. He has one of the best young WRs in Sutton and a new RB in Melvin Gordon to pair with Lindsay. He has a chance to be a good late round QB that has could maybe have top 15 or better upside!

Most think Washington could move on from Haskins after 1 year but I’m coming from the opposite side. Last game or two they change the offense some and Dwayne was excelling. They need to help him out and give him a chance. He could be a good FA pick if he starts off hot.

David Montgomery Chicago Bears

Chicago RB David Montgomery

Damien Williams Kansas City Chiefs
Kerryon Johnson Detroit Lions
Justin Jackson Los Angeles Chargers

Montgomery was one of my favorite rookie backs last year!  His seasons didn’t go as planned. He is talented and the coach used him wrong. Hopefully they have learned from there mistakes and feeds the kid.

I am one in the scouting community that believe The Chiefs do not address the RB position in the draft. Leaving William’s with the chance to shine in his final contract year. If he can put together a full season of what he did in the playoffs last 2 years. He could be a top 10 Fantasy RB!

It hurts that I love Kerryon so much and want him to succeed so bad. Lions need to run the ball more and refuse to, but this is the year Kerryon has to step up and shine or the team will move on from him. Here’s praying the situation works out best. I have faith!

Jackson is talented in the flashes he has shown. Averaging around 5 ypc. Most believe Eckler is the man there and that he has his role. If they don’t draft another RB, Jackson could shine in a split carry role with Eckler and been a solid flex option.

Diontae Johnson Pittsburgh Steelers
Darius Slayton New York Giants
Hollywood Brown Baltimore Ravens
Breshad Perriman New York Jets

Giants WR Darius Slayton

Diontae Johnson shows the ability to be a big piece in the Steelers offense which they lacked a lot last year. With Big Ben back and hopefully a healthy Juju, Johnson could see a lot of passes as a WR 2.

Slayton had a big year in the TD department year 1. If Daniel Jones continues to improve that helps Slayton who seemed to make a connection with the new franchise QB.

Hollywood showed big play flashes with MVP QB Lamar Jackson. His speed is undeniable. If he continue to grow and stays healthy. Sky’s the limit with in this BAL offense!

Perriman balled out last few weeks of the season with the Buccaneers. Now getting the chance to being the WR1 for the wide out desperate Jets. He has a chance to eat up targets. Which should result in some cheap fantasy points where you will be drafting him.

Mike Gescki Miami Dolphins
Noah Fant Denver Broncos
Hayden Hurst Atlanta Falcons

Denver TE Noah Fant

Gescki is a talented TE who hasn’t shined much in the Dolphins offense. Now they might be getting a legit QB that can utilize his skills

Hurst moves to Atlanta from Baltimore where he got buried on the depth chart. He is a great blocker with good hands. Hoping to fill in as a similar role to Hooper last year.

Fant showed flashes with Denver. He needs to take the next step and be that threat for his young QB.

I’m starting to get the feeling this is like a stand up comedy show and I’m the host. Next up, coming to the stage is Ethan Cowlbeck! The young teenage phenom! Ethan burst on the scene recently with his late round 2020 NFL mock draft articles! Show him some love and tip your bartenders! Follow him here!

Detroit QB Matthew Stafford

Matthew Stafford Detroit Lions

When going through the final few rounds of a draft, there’s one player who almost always manages to show up: Stafford. His season last year was full of fireworks early on until a lingering injury sidelined him for the remainder of the year. The injury is a serious risk, but the performance of Stafford could easily result in a top 10 season.

San Francisco RB Raheem Mostert

Raheem Mostert San Francisco 49ers
Last year he only had flashes during the regular season. Something clicked during the playoffs though, and while I still expect a committee backfield, Mostert should be the go-to for this year.

Buffalo RB Devin Singletary

Devin Singletary Buffalo Bills

Regardless of whether Frank Gore comes back to the Bills from free agency, Singletary showed last season that he can be a very consistent player when healthy.

LA RB Darrell Henderson

Darrell Henderson Los Angeles Rams

Gurley is now out of the picture, and if the Rams learned anything last year, forcing the ball through the air is not a viable strategy. Malcolm Brown is unlikely to be able play a workhorse role, so the door is open for Henderson.

Denver WR Courtland Sutton

Courtland Sutton Denver Broncos

Sutton is about to be the direct beneficiary of a greatly improved offense where he is still the clear number one receiving option. Drew Lock is the real deal and there’s no reason Sutton won’t perform as a result.

Atlanta WR Calvin Ridley

Calvin Ridley Atlanta Falcons

We’ve seen that the tandem of Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley makes for a great fantasy offense, but I expect an uptick in touchdowns this year from the offense and from Ridley.

Indianapolis Colts WR T.Y. Hilton

T.Y. Hilton Indianapolis Colts

Hilton saw regression last year in his overall performance for fantasy. Regardless whether Brissett or Rivers wins the starting job, more consistency should result in great numbers for Hilton.

Houston WR Will Fuller V

Will Fuller V Houston Texans

The absence of Hopkins won’t stop Deshaun Watson from being a high caliber quarterback, and Fuller will be the source of that production. He is capable of being a proficient WR1 on a quality team.

Giants WR Darius Slayton

Darius Slayton New York Giants

After Daniel Jones came along and instantly changed the Giants offense, Slayton was not far behind. If Slayton really is going to be Jones’ favorite target, he could be in line for a huge year.

Indianapolis TE Jack Doyle

Jack Doyle Indianapolis Colts

Finally the Colts have just one tight end. As long as it remains like this, Doyle should receive most of the work formerly given to Ebron. He’s proved he’s a good player, so this change in the team should be for his benefit in fantasy.

Moving on to Mr. Ben Anderson! You should all Ben by now and what he brings to the fantasy sports discussion! Not to mention his love for peanut butter and cake! Follow him here!

Denver QB Drew Lock

Drew Lock Denver Broncos

Denver has been looking for a QB for years. If Lock’s second-half numbers last year translates to the NFL like his college numbers were the wild west is going to be fun to watch!

Buffalo QB Josh Allen

Josh Allen Buffalo Bills

Allen made big Strides forward last year without a number one receiver to throw to, imagine what his numbers will be this year throwing to someone like Stefon Diggs.
Cleveland QB Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield Cleveland Browns

Cleveland overall last year was a disappointment but Baker Mayfield with a real head coach still having Jarvis Landry Odell Beckham Jr. Newly signed Austin Hooper, Along with one of the best running games in football with Nick Chubb and Kareem hunt Baker Mayfield Will be the guy we all want him to be.

Miami RB Jordan Howard
Jordan Howard Miami Dolphins
Howard has never really gotten any love was a good running back in Chicago who rushed for over a thousand yards has never really been able to be the number one running back for a team until this year. With him being the game Miami I fully expect Jordan Howard to emerge as a top 10 running back this year.
Buffalo RB Devin Singletary
Devin Singletary Buffalo Bills
Last year as a rookie you saw the potential Singleterry has in spurts. Coming in the year two with a better Josh Allen with a guy like Stefon Diggs on the outside force them to fenders to play further out than stacking eight or nine in the box watch out for Devin Singletary this year.
Los Angeles RB Austin Ekeler
Austin Eckler Los Angeles Chargers
With Melvin Gordon out of town, Austin Eckler should be able to take over the Number one running back spot finally for the course of a whole year and in PPR league easily a top-five running back.
New England RB Sony Michel
Sony Michel New England Patriots
With Brady, not New England any more patriots are going to need to find a definitely a football to go to this year I can see them going to more of a running game heavy offense using Sony Michel way more than they have over the last couple years
Las Vegas WR Hunter Renfrow
Hunter Renfrow Las Vegas Raiders
Renfrow last year had an overall good season until he got hurt. Playing mostly in the slot, Hunter Renfrow could easily be the next Wes Welker or Julian Edelman type for years to come.
Indianapolis WR Zach Pascal
Zach Pascal Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis doesn’t have a number two wide receiver and last year Zach played fairly well this year with hopefully a fully healthy T.Y Hilton and a better quarterback and Philip Rivers. Pascal should be able to take the next step.
New Orleans WR Emmanuel Sanders
Emanuel Sanders New Orleans Saints
Two words here, Drew Brees!
Arizona WR Christian Kirk
Christian Kirk Arizona Cardinals
Arizona now, probably has the best wide receiving corps in football. Old man Larry Fitzgerald, Mr. consistency DeAndre Hopkins, and third-year wide receiver Christian Kirk. Fitzgerald plays mostly in the slot and that allows Kirk to play on the outside more, and you can only double-team so many people with Hopkins taking on all the double teams. Christian Kirk is a lock to get 70-80 catches this season with 1000 yards receiving.
Atlanta TE Hayden Hurst
Hayden Hurst Atlanta Falcons
With Austin Hooper no longer in Atlanta, it leaves a huge hole it Atlanta offense. His back to back all-star seasons show you that a TE in Atlanta’s high flying and throw heavy offense can be very successful as long as you can stay healthy.
Tampa Bay TE OJ Howard
OJ Howard Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Is this the year OJ Howard finally breaks out and becomes that top-five tight end? He’s in a new offense and with a new quarterback! Everybody knows Tom Brady loves throwing his tight ends! Meaning Howard is in for a monster season.
KJ Baker joins the conversation next with some quick hit breakouts for 2020! Follow him here
New York Giants QB Daniel Jones
Daniel Jones New York Giants
Washington RB Derrius Guice
Derrius Guice Washington Redskins
James Washington Pittsburgh Steelers
Philadelphia WR JJ Arcega-Whiteside
JJ Arcega Whiteside Philadelphia Eagles
Christian Kirk Arizona Cardinals
Sterling Shepard New York Giants
Detroit TE TJ Hockenson
TJ Hockenson Detroit Lions
OJ Howard Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Last but certainly not list its my turn! Who can I mention that hasn’t been talked about already? I planned on getting bold to begin with a little bit of common sense. Here’s who I’ve come up with!

Arizona QB Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray Arizona Cardinals

I’ve caught some heat for this on Twitter but why? I get it. Murray was the 8th best QB in fantasy last season. So how can I mention him as a breakout? That was his rookie season and I think he pushes for MVP in 2020. What happens if ARZ drafts a stud WR like Lamb or Ruggs? Arizona has already traded for Hopkins! Kenyan Drake is their RB. Along with Murray’s rushing abilities he’s no doubt a kid to watch in 2020!

New Orleans QB Taysom Hill

Taysom Hill New Orleans Saints

Hill was used as a Swiss Army knife last season for the Saints. New Orleans also placed a first round tender on Hill all but assuring he stays in New Orleans for the 2020 season. Last season Taysom scored 9 touchdowns. With Teddy gone Hill is in line for a ton of work. With Sean Payton as their coach look for lots of plays to come Hill’s way!

Arizona RB Kenyan Drake

Kenyan Drake Arizona Cardinals

Word is out on Drake. The move to Arizona was too sweet. Believe it or not he was underutilized last season. I’d just chalk that up to growing pains on a new team. All the advanced stats suggest a massive jump in productions for Drake. Like top 5 RB jump! Get a piece of him and thank me later.

Philadelphia RB Miles Sanders

Miles Sanders Philadelphia Eagles

I’m going to keep this one short and sweet. Philly had no idea how to use Miles last season. I drafted both Sanders and Montgomery and by seasons end I was tearing my hair out! I don’t have any to begin with so it was all bad. Nothing fancy here, no cool stats. The Eagles know what they have and I fully expect Miles to get a ton of work in 2020!

Cincinnati WR Tyler Boyd

Tyler Boyd Cincinnati Bengal’s

In 2019 Boyd was in the top 10 of targets (148). The QB play in Cincy was awful so can you imagine how Boyd will do if Joe Burrow is his QB? Yes please!

Carolina WR Curtis Samuel

Curtis Samuel Carolina Panthers

Carolina needs a new QB. Cam is gone. Olsen is gone. People have been writing about a Samuel breakout since 2017. Someone has to get it right one of these years! Samuel has 4.3 speed and still his QB’s couldn’t get him the ball. Only 62% of his targets were catch able and there were a lot of them. If Carolina can land a stud or even a decent QB expect Curtis to break out in a major way! FINALLY!

Seattle TE Will Dissly

Will Dissly Seattle Seahawks

His 2018 and 2019 seasons were both ended due to injury. When Will is on the field the targets and catches are there. His average yards a game rank 4th behind Kelce, Kittle and Mark Andrews. I’d say that’s pretty good company! He has an excellent QB on team that lines up with a TE quite often. If Will can stay on the field he’s going to breakout big time!

New York TE Evan Engram

Evan Engram New York Giants

Evans yards per game have increased every season. Only problem is he cant stay on the field much like Dissly. The Giants are slowing putting it togther with Jones, Saquon and Shepard. If Engram can get it dialed in, stay healthy and get some legit snaps in this season he will easily become a TE1!

Day 3, no sports. I’m happy and healthy yet I have no toilet paper. I’ve taken my free time to reflect and put my ideas on paper. Not toilet paper obviously! Just a regular college ruled notebook. I’m constantly writing my thoughts down. So much that I have several note books filled to the brim.

I’ve always been big into analyzing my dreams. I actually have a dream dictionary! You’d be surprised how spot on dreams are compared to our real lives! This passion alone has filled up several notebooks. The only reason I mention this is because a lot of articles stem from my wild dreams.

When this virus was in its infancy I had a long detail dream about a massive water slide that lead to Canada. Slides in your dreams indicate some instability and risk in your waking life. Adding water, which signifies emotions, to the slide implies that dreams are taping into areas of emotional instability and/or some form of risk-taking behavior.

What the inside of my head looks like!

Another definition represents being carefree while enjoying negative situations or negative habits. Playing with uncertainty or feeling good ignoring the consequences of your actions. Seems heavy doesn’t it? Upon further review it’s actually quite simple.

Last night I had many ideas of how I wanted to express my thoughts today. What mood did I want to convey? Keeping with the light hearted nature of my writing here are the ideas I came up with!

Was I stranded on an island while writing this? What if I was on an old Civil War battlefield? Lost at sea? Or was this article just a message in a bottle? Then the idea of combining them all into one hit me! What if being in the Civil War lead to me to being lost at sea finding a stranded island and resorting to sending a message in a bottle? Wow! What a mouthful!

After mulling over this idea one thing became apparent. Thank the Lord I log my thoughts and write down my ideas! Can you image if this dream just disappeared once I woke up? It would be devastating! Slightly more demoralizing then running out of toilet paper!

Getting back to my original idea of water slide dreams the definition really held water. See what I did there?! When writing fantasy sports content, especially DFS, you’re going to be judged. People pick apart your process. They won’t share it. They will not support you. Not all people, but some, cling to the idea that they know it all. Much like anything we do in our lives people will always have something negative to say.

As counties declare emergencies and we’re told to stay home our options for entertainment become limited. Take time and trust your process. Enjoy your families and loved ones. Catch up on that book you’ve been putting off. Try a new recipe! Paint or draw! Take time for self care. Every situation has a silver lining. Be on the look out for positive vibes. They are out there, we just need to grab them.

I have constantly ignored the negativity around me. I feel good doing that too. I will continue sliding away into the water. Jump on in with me! The water is fine!

Stay safe and talk soon!

What Should We do with Ohio?

In today’s article for things you don’t care about, social media! What a time to be alive! It’s official! All sports have been suspended, schools are closed and there is only a tentative timeline with limited toilet paper.

Last night while wasting time on Twitter I stumbled upon an article from Ohio. The Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton alongside Gov. Mike DeWine mentioned 100,000+ suspected cases of Corona virus in the state. Given their population of 11.7 million people that means at the very least, 1 percent of the Ohio population has the virus.

To be clear I am a Michigander. Born and raised! I am also a University of Michigan supporter. Just wanted to share that little tid-bit before the following sequence of statements. I was taught to despise Ohio at a very young age. As a small boy it was strictly sports based and due to the intense U of M vs. OSU rivalry. As I grew older and formed my own opinions it branched into how flat and boring the entire state was.

By now you may be scratching your head and saying, “what does this have to do with DFS and fantasy sports?” Give me a moment and I’ll tell you! As it stands now there are no sports! There is no DFS! As this pandemic grows and the longer we go without sports the more crazy I become! I’ve always been honest with you! So why would it change now?

During my social media binge last night I noticed one thing. Everybody is jockeying for attention. Who can come up with the wittiest statement? We’re all trying to out-do each other. Which is fine, I get it. Like a small child would say, “there’s nothing to dooooo!” Or, “I’m so bored!” I find both statements to be relevant. As a man with a career I’m writing a fluff peace about how much I dislike Ohio. Ha! Welcome to the 2020 Corona virus pandemic.

I’m getting ahead of myself and off topic. The reason I mentioned my utter distain for Ohio is quite simple. I don’t like Ohio. I avoid Ohio. Given the most recent news I think Ohio should be removed from the United States. As a man from Michigan there have been times where avoiding Ohio wasn’t possible. Like going to Cedar Pointe.

If you are still following I thank you. We all have our outlets and sports is mine. Now I’ve turned my attention to hot button topics like hating Ohio. If I’m out of line just say so! I want no harm to come to any human being, living in Ohio or not. I wish them the best.

2020 is off to a horrible start. I’m not saying anything new. It’s up to us to change the dynamic of it all. The witty Twitter conversations and light hearted FaceBook messages are defiantly a step in the right direction. This is America and we’re all allowed to have different ideas and opinions. That’s the beauty of it all.

If I see this meme again I’m going to freak out!

There are times where my too positive and easy going ways have gotten me in trouble. I’m not a big planner. Rarely do I plan ahead. I’ve always been of the belief things will happen as they should. Which I find brings me the most joy and happiness. Rarely do I worry or have anxiety. This current health crisis is tailor made for such an attitude but that’s me. That’s my opinion. As I said yesterday we all have our own ways of unwinding and handling stress.

2020 Perfect March Madness bracket

If I could wrap this up in a nice big bow I’d tell you this, keep doing what you’re doing. Keep tweeting that perfect blank March Madness bracket. Share the funny, if you’re out of toilet paper use Houston Astro’s t-shirts meme on FaceBook. Photoshop Arnold Schwarzenegger holding toilet paper instead of a bazooka on Instagram. Do what makes you happy! Nothing is off limits! A cheap laugh is still a laugh! Lets not lose touch of our personalities!

Stay safe! Wash your hands! Cover your mouth! Continue to be yourself! Laughter is always the best medicine! Talk soon!

Hot Pucking Stacks 1/21/20 AFTER HOURS (FREE lineup)

Tonight at 7:30pm we have a two game after hours NHL slate. Smaller slates have always been a favorite of mine. I’ve also talked with other DFS players who despise small slates. On a small slate there is little room for error given the smaller player pool.

Lets piggy back on the Hot Pucking Stacks article from this morning. If its not broke do not fix it!

Here are three specific stacks I like this evening! Along with a sample lineup. This lineup is a general idea of where my head is.

Pittsburgh 2

Bryan Rust PP1
Evgeni Malkin PP1
Jarred McCaan

Dominik Kahun is out this evening with a concussion. Jarred McCaan will take his place tonight on the Penguins second line. MaCann is only $4,900 and instantly becomes valuable playing with Malkin and Rust.

Carolina 2

Warren Foegele
Sebastian Aho PP1
Teuvo Teravainen PP1

Earlier I mentioned the Hurricanes #1 power play unit. Due to the smaller slate I love the idea of rostering Carolina’s second line. Along with that comes exposure to that #1 power play unit!

Florida 2

Brett Connolly
Vincent Trocheck
Noel Acciari

The Panthers have scored 13 goals the last three games. Florida’s first line has been on fire and tonight, the second game of a back to back, I have a gut feeling their second line sees all the action tonight. Noel Acciari is only $3,900 and to me, he’s a must start this evening. Noel scored last night and has a total of 18 goals, 87 hits, 73 shots on goal and 74 blocked shots. Those add up when counting fantasy points.

When it comes to defense I normally look for high minute guys with a cheaper price tag. There are two guys I just cant get away from tonight.

Ivan Provorov PHI L1 & PP1 @ $4,700

Ivan is the second most expensive defenseman tonight but he’s well worth it! Provorov doesn’t score much but he does everything else well! He does have 9 goals but his worth comes in shots, hits and blocked shots! He has 107 shots, 54 hits and 77 blocked shots. As it stands now he’s just one point away from matching his point total last season (26).

Riley Stillman FLA L2 @ $3,600

Stillman is a rookie and coming into his own. He’s super cheap as a defenseman and he does all those little things to accumulate point. 20 blocked shots, 19 shots on goal and 14 hits. He’s currently racking up fantasy points with assists and shots on goal. Riley isn’t going to set the world on fire scoring goals but he has a safe floor and at his price of $3,600 on Fanduel he will no doubt hit value!

When it comes to goalie tonight no one stands out to me. Here are a few choices.

Robin Lehner Chicago @ Florida $8,500

He’s my top goalie tonight. It’s ok if you have a few pieces of the Panthers stacked against him.

Brian Elliot Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh $7,300

Personally I would stay away from the Philly goalie tonight

Tristan Jarry Pittsburgh @ Philadelphia $8,800

Jarrys price tag is too much for me tonight given the match-up

Here is a sample lineup of what I’m working with tonight. This lineup is just for fun and please play safe!
