Hot Pucking Stacks 2/23/20 (FREE lineup Sunday)

I can’t remember the last time a slate was such a no-brainer slam dunk such as this one. On the flip side, that only means I’m going to get burned. Isn’t that how DFS works?

The days we love our lineups are the days we crash and burn! The nights we throw our lineups together quickly with no edits are the big money nights.

Right? I can’t be the only one!

Today FanDuel has broken down the NHL action into three slates.

Early Only 3p (3)
Main 7p (4)
After Hours 10p (2)

While DraftKings has followed suit!

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/21/20 (THREE sample lines)

Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend! Hot Pucking Stacks is picking up some steam! Thank you!

No time to fool around today! Lets dig right in!

Anders Lee L1 & PP1
Mathew Barzal L1 & PP1
Jordan Eberle L1 & PP1

New York is looking to snap a four game losing streak. What better team to get right against then the Red Wings! The Wings are 13-43 their last 56 road games. Its awful and the entire city of Detroit is in sports slump! Detroit is also 1-6 v the Islander their last 7.

Andrei Svechnikov L1 & PP1
Sebastian Aho L1 & PP1
Teuvo Teravainen L1 & PP1

Warren Foegele L2
Jordan Staal L2
Justin Williams L2

From winning 7 of their last 11 and scoring 3.2 goals a game I’m a huge fan of Carolina tonight! They are also finding success on the power play at 21.5%! Aho leads the team in goals (34) while Teravainen has the most assists (44). Carolina has lost four straight vs. the Rangers. Due to that fact I believe Carolina wins tonight 4-2!

Gabriel Landeskog L1 & PP1
Nathan MacKinnon L1 & PP1
Andre Burakovsky L1 & PP1

Colorado is in Anaheim tonight who has lost 5 of their last 7. The Ducks have had recent success against the Avalanche recently. That doesn’t matter to me in this one. The Ducks have been trending in the wrong direction all season. I want nothing to do with Anaheim tonight or in the foreseeable future. Anaheim has been giving up 4.25 goals a game their last four. This one is going to lop sided from the start. 4-1 or a 5-1 final tonight Colorado wins!

Filip Forsberg L2
Matt Duchene L2
Kyle Turris L2

Rocco Grimaldi L3
Nick Bonino L3
Craig Smith L3

Nashville is 5-2 their last 7 in Chicago. The wheels have completely fallen off this Blackhawk’s squad as of late. This is DFS so we’re not in the business of picking a team right? Just know the over has hit the last 5 contests with these two. When they get together they are averaging 6.2 goals. I’m all in on Nashville tonight!

Johnny Gaudreau L1 & PP1
Sean Monahan L1 & PP1
Elias Lindholm

The Bruins come to Calgary tonight. We all know Boston is among the best teams in hockey. That aside, Calgary is holding their own scoring 2.9 goals a game and hitting on 20.3% of their power play chances. Their first line leads the team in a major statistical categories. Do the Flames win tonight? Highly unlikely but I could see a 4-2 or 4-3 final tonight with plenty of points to go around!

Jake DeBrusk L2 & PP1
David Krejci L2 & PP2
Karson Kuhlman L2

Boston is hot as pistol right now! Winning 10 of their last 11. Much like yesterday DFS players will be flocking to higher priced stacks. Boston have been scoring 3.2 goals a game while converting on 25.9% of their power play chances. Calgary is leaking on defense and Boston should see plenty of chances tonight. Lets get sneaky and stack BOS3 tonight!

As you can see I have provided BOTH a Main line as well as an After Hours sample line.

Main 2-21

I’m looking forward to all the messages today! So excited to help and discuss the slate!

Please play responsibility and know these lines are to be used for entertainment purposes!

After Hours 2-21

Hang here and look for an update line closer to the After Hours lock at 9p!

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/17/20

This weekend was beautiful and the hockey action was fantastic. Today is Presidents Day so we have an earlier lock with the Main contest.

4p Main (5 games)
6p After Hours (2 games)

I had a few questions yesterday in regards to my sample lineups compared to the stacks I list. When I research I find line combos and skaters that are in good spots. When sharing sample lines it is a mix and match of the different ways I see fit to use the skaters I like.

Of course we all have our way to research and build lines. There are also many different ways to accumulate points. Ideally it’s not a good move to stack an entire line against the opposing goalie but one skater isn’t going to bury your goalie.

It’s all a process and over the years I’ve tried many different ideas and combinations. We all have our own way and that’s the beauty to this. I’m thankful for all the readers and comments I’ve received.

Jonathan Marchessault L1 & PP1
Paul Stastny L1 & PP1
Reilly Smith L1 & PP2

Max Pacioretty L1 & PP2
William Karlsson L2 & PP2
Mark Stone L2 & PP1

Marc-Andre Fleury has been cruising this season at 22-14-5. The Golden Knights welcome in the Washington Caps tonight. Vegas has been great at home but Washington has been strong on the road. Vegas out shot the Islanders last time out 20-4 in the second period then 15-9 in the third. Vegas is buzzing around on the offensive side of the ice and all those shots immaculate points. I can see a 4-3 final tonight. Plenty of points to go around in this one!

Alex Ovechkin L1 & PP1
Nicklas Backstrom L1 & PP1
Tom Wilson L1 & PP2

Jakub Vrana L2 & PP1
Lars Eller L2 & PP2
T.J. Oshie L2 & PP1

Washington is 19-7 their last 26 road games. The Caps are among one of the best teams in hockey this season. They are also 7-1 vs. Vegas in their last 8 meetings. There is too much value with the Caps here tonight. Expensive salaries and all. As stated about I envision a 4-3 or 5-3 final tonight. Capitols win!

Jonathan Huberdeau L1 & PP1
Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1
Elias Lindholm L1 & PP1

Head to head the Panthers are 5-1 their last 6 games vs. the Sharks and 7-1 vs. the Sharks in San Jose. Both teams have picked up their play as of late and due to that fact SJ is favored at home. The Panthers however have a legitimate shot at putting some point together and getting into the playoffs. Might seem silly but I believe these factors play big roles in a hockey games! Florida wins 4-2 or 4-3.

Johnny Gaudreau L1 & PP1
Sean Monahan L1 & PP1
Elias Lindholm L1 & PP1

The Flames have lost 7 of their last 11 games. Not a real strong opening statement when pushing Calgary tonight. However, the Flames are scoring 2.8 goals as of late and converting on 20.8% of their power play opportunities recently. Lindholm leads the team in goals (27) and Gaudreau leads with assists (35) while Monahan has 146 total shots on goal. This line is very effective and should be given plenty of chances tonight home vs. the Ducks. The Flames have beat the Ducks twice this season with a combined score of 8-1! Calgary wins at home tonight 4-1!

Anders Lee L1 & PP1
Mathew Barzal L1 & PP1
Jordan Eberle L1 & PP1

Arizona welcomes the Islanders in tonight having lost 9 of their last 12 games. The Coyotes are giving up 2.7 goals a game and have been awful killing penalties. Arizona has given up three or more goals in their last 11 of 14 games. While New York has won 7 of the last 10 games vs. the Coyotes. From what I’ve seen so far today people are liking the Coyotes in this one after a great game vs. Washington. This doesn’t excite me! Lets zig when others zag! Roster NYI1 tonight! You won’t be sorry!

Here are a few one offs that deserve our attention tonight!

Steven Stamkos TB @ COL $8,400

Joonas Donski COL vs TB $3,700

Main 2/17

Here is a sample line up for BOTH Main and After Hours! Hang tight for an updated After Hours closer to the 6p lock!

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/13/20 + after hours

Hello! Welcome back to Hot Pucking Stacks! Last nights lines didn’t set the world on fire but they were right around the cash line. I wouldn’t call them a dud but we can do better! The Kings last surprised me last night scoring 5 goals! Geeze!

Tonight is a massive schedule with eleven games on the Main slate! The rest of the nights action is broken down accordingly…

Main 7p (11 games)
Express I 730p (3 games)
Express II 8p (2 games)
After Hours 10p (2 games)

Main locks at 7p and there is are a few juicy match-ups! No screwing around tonight! Let’s get right into it!

Joel Farabee L2 & PP2
Kevin Hayes L2 & PP2
Travis Konecny L2 & PP1

Philly is at the Bb&t center tonight in Florida. The Flyers are 6-2 in their last 8 and are 5-2 in their last 7 when being the underdog. Philly isn’t the same team on the road and this one will be tight. Paying a lower cost for their second line is the move. Philly loses 4-3 but plenty of points to go around here tonight!

NEW JERSEY 2 (main)

Blake Coleman L2 & PP1
Travis Zajac L2
Nikita Gusev L2 & PP2

The Red Wings are in New Jersey tonight and the smart money is on the Devils. Detroit is 4-1 in their last 5 vs. the Devils. People may flock to DET1 tonight while we sneak in a NJ2 stack. I wouldn’t have a ton of NJ tonight seeing how both teams aren’t good BUT a mix and match tonight with Devils could pay dividends!

Alex Ovechkin L1 & PP1 AND PP2
Nicklas Backstrom L1 & PP1
Tom Wilson L1 & PP2

Talk about offensive fire power! WOW! The Caps come to the Pepsi center tonight in Colorado. The Avalanche are riding a five game winning streak while the Caps have gone 9-2 vs. COL their last 11. Colorado is on fire but Washington has had great success vs. the Avalanche. I don’t have a definite projection of who wins. Just know the 6.5 o/u will be smashed!

COLORADO 1 (main)

Andre Burakovsky L1 & PP2
Nathan MacKinnon L1 & PP1
Mikko Rantanen L1 & PP1

Colorado is on fire right now playing well winning their last 5! They are also 4-0 their last four home games. All the money is on the Caps tonight due to a low line on the road. Philipp Grubauer has been lights out as of late and that’s the only thing stopping me from going all in on WSH. This one should be a ton of fun with plenty of points to go around. 5-4, 6-5 final in Colorado tonight.

FLORIDA 1 (main)

Jonathan Huberdeau L1 & PP1
Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1
Evgenii Dadnov L1 & PP1

The Panthers are home tonight vs. the Flyers. Florida packs a punch offensively and the Flyers struggle on the road. Of all eleven games tonight FLA vs. PHI is tied at 6.5 as an over/under. I would spend up tonight on the Panthers first line. They also play on the top power play now! You know how much I love double dipping! FLA wins tonight 4-3.

LAS VEGAS 2 (after hours)

Max Pacioretty L2 & PP1
Mark Stone L2 & PP1
William Karlsson L2 & PP2

The Blues have played awful as of late and its mainly been on the road. St. Louis come to Vegas tonight and are 1-7 in their last 8 road games. The Golden Knights are a solid bet at home and VGK has allowed 3 or more goals in 12 of their last 15 games. As you scroll down I like STL2 tonight for that reason. That being said the o/u tonight in Vegas sits at 6 and I see every bit of this one going over.

CALGARY 1 (after hours)

Johnny Gaudreau L1 & PP1
Sean Monahan L1 & PP1
Elias Lindholm L1 & PP1

The Flames are in Anaheim tonight have been 4-1 their past five road games. What’s shocking is the fact Calgary has only won TWICE their last 34 games in Anaheim! That’s nuts! Due to that, I love CGY1 tonight! While everyone is looking left we go right! The old Kansas City shuffle!

ST LOUIS 2 (after hours)

Zach Sanford L2
Ryan O’Reilly L2 & PP1
David Perron L2 & PP1

As stated above the Blues have not played well recently. They haven’t been as chippy and physical as we’re used to. Vegas has been giving up 3+ goals a game their last 15 games. Safe bet that the Blues score 3 right on the money. Three of these men also play on the first power play unit. VGK wins tonight but the o/u of 6 goals gets smashed tonight!

Main 2/13

Per usual here is a sample line for BOTH Main and After Hours! Please play responsible and these lines are to be used for fun!

After Hours 2/13

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/12/20 (TWO free lines)

I’ve always been open and honest in my articles. Transparency is key when giving advice. Any advice comes with some risk. Not risk per-say but a certain element of discussion. Like any good attorney would tell you, any situation or consequence has some wiggle room.

Meaning, when you read my articles there is room for error and a loop hole or two. Nothing is ever set in stone. I’m doing the best I can with the experience I have to bring you the best NHL DFS advice around.

Mad man

As you can see above there is a certain level of craziness that it takes to provide you my process. I enjoy it very much and it’s opened a few doors. I can’t thank you enough for the kind messages and spirited conversations.

After Hours last night was amazing! I gave out an edited NHL line right before lock and the feed back I received was purely magically!

After Hours 2/11

As you can see the hockey line I provided scored 196.7 points. That’s a gold mine in cash games. The nicest message I received was from a new reader named Justin. Justin doesn’t follow hockey which is normal in the DFS community. Most DFS players have their favorite sport and they stick to it. Justin is type the DFS player I’m trying to reach.

We all know NBA and NFL are the two most played DFS sports. When I’m able to reach a person like Justin and change their outlook on a certain sport then I know the content is right where it should be! When people step outside of their comfort zone and trust someone like me, that’s when I’m at my happiest! Thank you Justin for reading my NHL content. Thank you for trusting!

Tonight’s NHL schedule is only three games. 730p Main and a two game After Hours slate locking at 1030p.

Brad Marchand L1 & PP1
Patrice Bergeron L1 & PP1
David Pastrnak L1 & PP1

The Bruins lost to the Red Wings last game. As you know the Wings are the worst team in hockey. Montreal comes to the TD garden tonight in Boston. The Bruins have a phenomenal home record (19-2-9). Boston is among one of the best teams in the NHL. That loss to the Red Wings was a fluke and they dominate MTL at home tonight. They win 5-2.

Ilya Kovachuk L2 & PP2
Nick Suzuki L2 & PP2
Joel Armia L2 & PP2

Montreal is in Boston tonight as I mentioned above. On the flip side MTL is coming off a lost to Arizona after a solid three game winning streak. Montreal is middle of the road far as offensive statistics are concerned. Boston did lose to the Red Wings so any team is beatable right? I don’t care about wins and loses. I care about goals and points. Boston will win but I do see some left over insecurities in this one. MTL scores twice.

Johnny Gaudreau L1 & PP1
Sean Monahan L1 & PP1
Elias Lindholm L1 & PP1

The Flames come to Los Angles tonight and the Kings have lost five straight games. Two teams headed in different directions. The Kings are so cold and the Flames skate in playing above average hockey! Calgary wins tonight in LA. I’ll even go a step further! The Flames shut out LA tonight! 3-0 or 4-0!

JT Miller L2 & PP1
Jake Virtanen L2 & PP2
Elias Pattersson L2 & PP1

Chicago comes to the Rogers arena tonight in Vancouver. This contest should be filled with points and hits! Vancouver has been up and down recently. Going on a five game winning streak then falling off into a five game losing streak. Chicago has fallen back down to earth after an awesome January. The Blackhawk’s are dealing with 3 games in 4 days and back to back contests here in Vancouver. The Canucks second line has been one of favorite lines so far this season. This line scores twice tonight and they win 4-2!

Brandon Saad L2 & PP2
Kirby Dach L2 & PP1
Patrick Kane L2 & PP1

Chicago is 25-22-8 this season and digging themselves out of an early hole. They started the season very poorly but have played better as of late. Their offense has been clicking, mainly the second line. Patrick Kane has been awesome! 67 points so far this year. Chicago’s biggest strength in their defense ranking 12th overall in goals against. Their latest stretch has been tough and they will succumb to fatigue tonight. I’m projecting a 4-2 or even a 4-3 final in a loss.

Main 2/12

Here are two sample lines! One for Main and one for After Hours! Keep here for an updated After Hours lines closer to lock!
