Hot Pucking Stacks 3/3/20 (4 FREE lines)

Hot Pucking Stacks is back in full effect today! Last night was a success! Our line came alive late and finished with 218.6 points! As you can see below Leon Draisaitl scored four times and put up a whopping 67.7 points!

FD Main 3-2 – 218.6

That was last night and were moving on. There is a large ten game NHL schedule tonight. 10 games, 20 teams and 60+ different line combinations. When I say that out loud its quite overwhelming.

No worries! I’m always happy to give you my favorite stacks and show my process! Enough wasting your time! Lets get it moving! Hot Pucking Stacks is here.

FanDuel slate breakdown                                DraftKings slate

Main 7p (10)                                                        Main 7p (10)
Express 8p (2)                                                     Turbo 8p (4)
ExpressII 830p (2)                                               Late 10p (2)
After Hours 10p (2)

As you can see on FanDuel they have broken it into three separate TWO game slates. While DraftKings only has ONE two game slate. As you know, I’m a huge fan of the smaller slates.

Ottawa has been bad all year while PIT has lost six in a row! The Penguins have been due for a bounce back for about a week now. I have 0.0 expectations for OTT tonight while I expect PIT to hammer them. PIT is a massive home favorite with a 3.7 goal implication. Everything is set up for a Penguins blow out here. You know what they say about expectations? They lead to resentments!

Gerald Mayhew L1 & PP2
Eric Staal L1 & PP1
Kevin Fiala L1 & PP1

The Wild are home favorites tonight against Nashville. Pure gut call here but the Predators must be exhausted and embarrassed. EDM put up 8 goals against them last night. MIN1 is cheap with the fresher legs.

Nick Ritche L2
David Krejci L2 & PP2
Ondrej Kase L2 & PP2

The Bruins are in Tampa night and should be a blast! In a strategic move here BOS2 sees all the action tonight. This is how I look at it, BOS1 vs. TB1 will cancel each other out leaving a clear path to points for BOS2. Boston is 0-4 last 5 vs. TB and 0-5 the last 5 in Tampa. I mean c’mon! If you play roulette and black hits 5 in a row you bet on red right? BOS2 is just that! I’m betting on them!

Zach Hyman L1 & PP2

William Nylander L2 & PP1

1030p Eastern the Maple Leafs play in San Jose. TOR is 4-0 their last 4 games vs. SJ BUT a measly 1-6 their last 7 in San Jose. Could tonight be a trap for TOR? The Leafs have had no success in SJ but much like BOS how long can these trends continue? TOR is the better team and fighting for the playoffs. I like both lines but more of a mix-n-match situation. I full TOR stack tonight in SJ makes me nervous. You’ve been warned!

Anders Lee L1 & PP1
Mathew Barzal L1 & PP1
Jordan Eberle L1 & PP1

Now we’re talking! The Islanders have been playing losing hockey but have been better at home. Tonight Montreal comes to town in what should be an odd one. By odd I mean a higher scoring game then we think. 5-4 or 4-3 final. With all the other fire power and top-notch teams playing tonight we are in a position to sneak one past with NYI1.

Jaden Schwartz L1 & PP1
Ryan O’Reilly L1 & PP1
Brayden Schenn L1 & PP1

The Blue play the Rangers in NY tonight backed by a 7 game winning streak. During that span they are averaging 3.2 goals a game and have been successful on 23.9% of the power play. As a DFS player it’s wise to ride the wave and follow the hot hand! 4-1 or a 4-2 final tonight.

Kyle Connor L1 & PP1
Mark Scheifele L1 & PP1
Blake Wheeler L1 & PP1

Admittedly a lazy choice on my part. Any bum in a basement would tell you to roster WPG1. All three men play on L1 and first power play unit. They all average 19+ minutes a game. On the surface it’s a no-brainer vs. a horrible road team in Buffalo. The Sabers are awful on the road. Head-to-head BUF is 5-13 against WPG. 4-2 or a 3-1 final tonight in WPG.

Roope Hintz L2 & PP2
Jason Dickinson L2
Denis Gurjanov L2 & PP2

Edmonton looked fantastic last night in NSH but as stats show they aren’t good on the second leg of a back-to-back. Dallas is fresh and I expect EDM to be exhausted and burned out from last nights game. DAL2 makes for a great compliment with a higher priced stack!

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/29/20 (4 FREE lines)

Happy Saturday! Welcome to the weekend! Today is the last day of February meaning the count down to spring is on! It’s been a long and arduous winter here in Michigan!

My personal weather woes aside, the NHL schedule is JAM PACKED tonight!

FanDuel has broken down the schedule into SIX smaller slates!

While DraftKings has split it up between FOUR slates!

On FanDuel the schedule is as follows…

All Day 1p (12)
Early Only 4p (3)
Evening Late 7p (6)
Main 7p (8)
Express 8p (2)
After Hours 10p (2)

On DrafKings the schedule is set up as follows…

Afternoon 4p (3)
Main 7p (8)
Turbo 8p (2)
Late 10p (2)

I will be honest, at first glance, I felt a little overwhelmed. Upon further review and much research I’m confident after combing through this schedule! Let me take on the burden of digging through the schedule and providing you with my best options available!

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/21/20 (THREE sample lines)

Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend! Hot Pucking Stacks is picking up some steam! Thank you!

No time to fool around today! Lets dig right in!

Anders Lee L1 & PP1
Mathew Barzal L1 & PP1
Jordan Eberle L1 & PP1

New York is looking to snap a four game losing streak. What better team to get right against then the Red Wings! The Wings are 13-43 their last 56 road games. Its awful and the entire city of Detroit is in sports slump! Detroit is also 1-6 v the Islander their last 7.

Andrei Svechnikov L1 & PP1
Sebastian Aho L1 & PP1
Teuvo Teravainen L1 & PP1

Warren Foegele L2
Jordan Staal L2
Justin Williams L2

From winning 7 of their last 11 and scoring 3.2 goals a game I’m a huge fan of Carolina tonight! They are also finding success on the power play at 21.5%! Aho leads the team in goals (34) while Teravainen has the most assists (44). Carolina has lost four straight vs. the Rangers. Due to that fact I believe Carolina wins tonight 4-2!

Gabriel Landeskog L1 & PP1
Nathan MacKinnon L1 & PP1
Andre Burakovsky L1 & PP1

Colorado is in Anaheim tonight who has lost 5 of their last 7. The Ducks have had recent success against the Avalanche recently. That doesn’t matter to me in this one. The Ducks have been trending in the wrong direction all season. I want nothing to do with Anaheim tonight or in the foreseeable future. Anaheim has been giving up 4.25 goals a game their last four. This one is going to lop sided from the start. 4-1 or a 5-1 final tonight Colorado wins!

Filip Forsberg L2
Matt Duchene L2
Kyle Turris L2

Rocco Grimaldi L3
Nick Bonino L3
Craig Smith L3

Nashville is 5-2 their last 7 in Chicago. The wheels have completely fallen off this Blackhawk’s squad as of late. This is DFS so we’re not in the business of picking a team right? Just know the over has hit the last 5 contests with these two. When they get together they are averaging 6.2 goals. I’m all in on Nashville tonight!

Johnny Gaudreau L1 & PP1
Sean Monahan L1 & PP1
Elias Lindholm

The Bruins come to Calgary tonight. We all know Boston is among the best teams in hockey. That aside, Calgary is holding their own scoring 2.9 goals a game and hitting on 20.3% of their power play chances. Their first line leads the team in a major statistical categories. Do the Flames win tonight? Highly unlikely but I could see a 4-2 or 4-3 final tonight with plenty of points to go around!

Jake DeBrusk L2 & PP1
David Krejci L2 & PP2
Karson Kuhlman L2

Boston is hot as pistol right now! Winning 10 of their last 11. Much like yesterday DFS players will be flocking to higher priced stacks. Boston have been scoring 3.2 goals a game while converting on 25.9% of their power play chances. Calgary is leaking on defense and Boston should see plenty of chances tonight. Lets get sneaky and stack BOS3 tonight!

As you can see I have provided BOTH a Main line as well as an After Hours sample line.

Hot Pucking Stacks 2/5/20 (TWO FREE lineups)

Thanks for joining me again on Hot Pucking Stacks! Last night was wild! Most massive slates are nuts! The Washington Capitals won and Ovi had a hat trick! Montreal 2 had a great evening, 2 goals, 1 assist and 8 SOG! Calgary 2 was quite, Johnny scored once but it was a flop on such a big slate. Tampa Bay had a big night stats wise. TB1 accumulated 2 goals, 3 assists and 4 SOG. My New York Islander PP1 was a massive flop. Blue Jackets first line was even worse! Between the three skaters they only had 6 SOG.

With NHL DFS we have to forget fast and move ahead quickly! So tonight that’s what we will do! It’s a small two game schedule and there is a clear path to points!

Toronto Maple Leafs @ New York Rangers
Boston Bruins @ Chicago Blackhawk’s

At first glance I think its best to stack the TOR @ NYR game! The over/under implied goal total is 7! That’s a massive number in hockey terms! So as you will see shortly any combo of Maple Leafs and Rangers will do! Obviously we will want both top lines. We should also get creative with stacking those lesser known lines!

Zach Hyman L1
Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

The Maple Leafs have the highest implied goal total tonight at 3.5. It would be really tough to fade Toronto tonight. Their top line is expensive and rightfully so. If you’re going to spend up tonight then choose Toronto 1!

Alexander Kerfoot L2
John Tavares L2 & PP1
William Nylander L2 & PP1

The Maple Leafs second is as effective as any second line in the NHL. For purpose of DFS they are a tad cheaper and you get awesome exposure to the top power play.

Artemi Panarin L2 & PP1
Ryan Strome L2 & PP1
Jesper Fast L2

The Rangers have an implied goal total at 3.2. Lets follow suit and stack their first or second line. Or we can do a sweet combo as listed below!

Phil DiGiuseppi L1
Mika Zibanejad L1 & PP1
Pavel Buchnevich L1 & PP1

The Rangers first line is ridiculously cheap aside from Mika. So its give you the chance to mix and match the NYR first power play unit too! There is a lot of room to move around in this one!

Jake DeBrusk L2 & PP1
David Krejci L2 & PP2
Karson Kuhlman L2

The Bruins second line tonight is very juicy far as value is concerned. All three are priced perfectly. With a total goal implication of 3.2 it’s a safe bet this line scores a goal or two. Given the need for a value line tonight with the expensive prices for TOR1 this line fits very well!

Brandon Saad L2
Kirby Dach L2 & PP1
Patrick Kane L2 & PP1

Any line that has Patrick Kane skating in is always a go! This guy averages 1.22 point per game. Meaning, the other two skaters on the second line stand a chance at assists, goals and a healthy +/-. Much like the NYR2, Kane’s line mates are super cheap!

Tonight will be a nice exercise in double dipping power play lines and lines with or without their star skater. Here is a photo of the different lines and combinations and how I’m stacking them tonight!

Line combos

Here are a few sample lineups I’ve been toying with since last night! Use these for fun and please play responsibly!
