I’m excited to bring you my favorite cash game goalies along with a few GPP goalies. I believe In the Net makes for a good compliment to Hot Pucking Stacks! Both articles together should bring us plenty of success!
FIVE games on the NHL schedule tonight! Upon reading team reports I’m seeing a few back-ups in net tonight. As always be careful and double check confirmations before lock!
Several nice plays in goal tonight but this is my list!
CASH game goalie
Corey Crawford CHI vs. SJ (FD-$7,800)(DK-$8,000)***CONFIRMED***
15-20-3 W-L – 2.70 GAA – 0.916 SV% – 1 SO
Corey has made nine consecutive starts going 5-4-0 with a 2.46 GAA and 0.928 SV% Tonight San Jose is in town having lost four straight road games. SJ has only scored 1.5 goals a game during that stretch. Corey is quite safe in goal tonight.
Connor is riding a nice three game winning streak. During the last three he’s stopped 90 out of 93 shots. Hellebuyck has played EDM twice this year going 1-1 and stopping 47 of 50 shots. Albeit expensive, Connor is nice GPP play tonight!
Jake Allen STL @ ANH (FD-$7,900) Not an option on DraftKings
11-6-3 W-L – 2.20 GAA – 0.925 SV% – 2 SO
Allen is expected to start tonight in Anaheim. My first thought here was it’s going to be a shortened game. This game is make up of last weeks game when Jay Bouwmeester collapsed on the bench. It is not available on DraftKings tonight.
Cal Peterson LA vs. OTT (FD-$7,600)(DK-$7,700)
4-3-0 W-L – 2.73 GAA – 0.922 SV% – 0 SO
Calvin faces an Ottawa team that played in Anaheim last night and has lost 7 of their last 8 road games. OTT has only averaged 1.88 goals a game during that stretch. Cal is my favorite tournament goalie this evening!
Be sure to keep an open eye in regards to the goalie confirmations!
It’s Friday eve! Or in other words, Thursday! My favorite day of the week! Thursday brings the joy of Friday followed by the weekend!
Some of you found great success last night and that makes me happy! Proud actually! As usual, that was last night and this is today. Tonight is a ten game schedule and upon further review is easier than it looks!
I’ve spent the better half of a day digging and combing through numbers and lines.
Just wanted to stop and thank you for reading and trusting me. Means a lot! Makes this even more fun to me!
FanDuel slate breakdown DraftKings
Main 7p (10) Main 7p (10) Express 7:30p (3) Turbo 8p (2) Express II 8p (2) Late 10:30p (2) After Hours 10:30p (2)
Zach Parise L2 & PP1 Joel Eriksson Ek L2 Luke Kunin L2 & PP2
The Wild are 5-0 their last 5 games and 8-2 their last 10 road games! Minnesota can be trusted tonight after finding another gear and getting some great wins this week! San Jose has won 5 straight vs. MIN and that streak ends tonight! 3-2!
TAMPA BAY 1
Ondrej Palat L1 & PP2 Brayden Point L1 & PP1 Nikita Kucherov L1 & PP1
TAMPA BAY 2
Blake Coleman L2 Anthony Cirelli L2 & PP1 Alex Killorn L2 & PP2
Tampa Bay is going to chalky tonight. I’m cool with that seeing how MTL comes to TB tonight. Tampa has been one of the toughest teams on home ice. I would still exercise caution tonight seeing how TB has been a bit pedestrian lately.
NEW YORK ISLANDERS 1
Anders Lee L1 & PP1 Mathew Barzal L1 & PP2 Jordan Eberle L1 & PP2
This first line in NY is fast becoming a favorite of mine! NYI have won 8 of their last 9 vs. OTT. The Senators are 6-13 their last 19 home games. The Islanders have dominated OTT recently going 6-0 vs. them. NYI get a win tonight in OTT 4-2 or 4-1.
Edmonton is in Chicago tonight and I’ve gone back and forth with this one. Both teams have played really well recently, winning 3 straight. EDM is only 3-7 their last 10 games in CHI. I’m going to take a shot with CHI1 tonight given the 6.5 goal over/under. I can see a 5-4 with goals to go around for both teams.
LOS ANGELES 1
Alex Iafallo L1 & PP1 Anze Kopitar L1 & PP1 Dustin Brown L1 & PP1
The Kings have been well recently especially at home. The Maple Leafs are in LA tonight having just lost to the Sharks. We touched on West Coast road trips yesterday in our live Morning Skate video. TOR has been leaky on defense recently and I have a feeling LA1 gets a few goals tonight. Will they win? Don’t really care, we just want fantasy points!
I’m going to take a shot with EDM1 tonight given the 6.5 goal over/under. I can see a 5-4 with goals to go around for both teams.
Scott Laughton L2 Kevin Hayes L2 & PP2 Travis Konecny L2 & PP1
I mentioned PHI2 yesterday in Hot Puck and every skater on this line scored a goal last night! Back to the well tonight! Carolina has won 5 of 7 vs. Philly. The Flyers are on back end of a back-to-back but are just too hot right now! I can’t pass PHI2 up tonight! They win 4-1 or 4-2 tonight!
Jonathan Huberdeau L1 & PP1 Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1 Evgenii Dadonov L1 & PP1
Another game I’ve gone back and forth on. Boston skates to FLA tonight and they are rolling. Here’s how I see it, the Bruins are very good and they elevate the play of the opposing team. FLA will have to keep pace with BOS which is a good thing! FLA1 is reasonably priced and should provide you major pop. 10+ points for each skater tonight!
The Penguins are in Buffalo tonight and by the looks of it have played awful on the road! 0-5 their last road games while Buffalo is 4-0 their last 4 home games. Very uplifting speech for PIT right? The Penguins are in need of wins while BUF has been ice cold. Aside from Malkin, PIT2 is quite cheap!
Thankfully NHL is back with an absolutely monster schedule! Meaning, Hot Pucking Stacks is back in full effect! It’s loaded with stacks and free sample lineups tonight too.
Not to get off track but Sunday was off the charts with fantasy point and money won! It’s not like me to brag and show off but I was very happy and quite proud with our results Sunday! I heard from a ton of you and it really did make me happy! So shout out to all of you who read Hot Puck and took the time to message me and chat!
It’s Tuesday now so Sunday is in the rear view. DFS is all about, “what have you done for me lately”.
FanDuel has tonight broken down into four slates. While DraftKings has three.
Main 7p (13) Main 7p (13) Express 730p (4) Turbo 8p (3) Express II 8p (3) Late 9p (2) After Hours 9p (2)
No time to chat or fool around today! Here is a list of stacks per slate. Lets get right into it!
Hello! Welcome back to Hot Pucking Stacks! Last nights lines didn’t set the world on fire but they were right around the cash line. I wouldn’t call them a dud but we can do better! The Kings last surprised me last night scoring 5 goals! Geeze!
Tonight is a massive schedule with eleven games on the Main slate! The rest of the nights action is broken down accordingly…
Main 7p (11 games) Express I 730p (3 games) Express II 8p (2 games) After Hours 10p (2 games)
Main locks at 7p and there is are a few juicy match-ups! No screwing around tonight! Let’s get right into it!
PHILADELPHIA 2 (main)
Joel Farabee L2 & PP2 Kevin Hayes L2 & PP2 Travis Konecny L2 & PP1
Philly is at the Bb&t center tonight in Florida. The Flyers are 6-2 in their last 8 and are 5-2 in their last 7 when being the underdog. Philly isn’t the same team on the road and this one will be tight. Paying a lower cost for their second line is the move. Philly loses 4-3 but plenty of points to go around here tonight!
The Red Wings are in New Jersey tonight and the smart money is on the Devils. Detroit is 4-1 in their last 5 vs. the Devils. People may flock to DET1 tonight while we sneak in a NJ2 stack. I wouldn’t have a ton of NJ tonight seeing how both teams aren’t good BUT a mix and match tonight with Devils could pay dividends!
WASHINGTON 1 (main)
Alex Ovechkin L1 & PP1 AND PP2 Nicklas Backstrom L1 & PP1 Tom Wilson L1 & PP2
Talk about offensive fire power! WOW! The Caps come to the Pepsi center tonight in Colorado. The Avalanche are riding a five game winning streak while the Caps have gone 9-2 vs. COL their last 11. Colorado is on fire but Washington has had great success vs. the Avalanche. I don’t have a definite projection of who wins. Just know the 6.5 o/u will be smashed!
COLORADO 1 (main)
Andre Burakovsky L1 & PP2 Nathan MacKinnon L1 & PP1 Mikko Rantanen L1 & PP1
Colorado is on fire right now playing well winning their last 5! They are also 4-0 their last four home games. All the money is on the Caps tonight due to a low line on the road. Philipp Grubauer has been lights out as of late and that’s the only thing stopping me from going all in on WSH. This one should be a ton of fun with plenty of points to go around. 5-4, 6-5 final in Colorado tonight.
FLORIDA 1 (main)
Jonathan Huberdeau L1 & PP1 Aleksander Barkov L1 & PP1 Evgenii Dadnov L1 & PP1
The Panthers are home tonight vs. the Flyers. Florida packs a punch offensively and the Flyers struggle on the road. Of all eleven games tonight FLA vs. PHI is tied at 6.5 as an over/under. I would spend up tonight on the Panthers first line. They also play on the top power play now! You know how much I love double dipping! FLA wins tonight 4-3.
LAS VEGAS 2 (after hours)
Max Pacioretty L2 & PP1 Mark Stone L2 & PP1 William Karlsson L2 & PP2
The Blues have played awful as of late and its mainly been on the road. St. Louis come to Vegas tonight and are 1-7 in their last 8 road games. The Golden Knights are a solid bet at home and VGK has allowed 3 or more goals in 12 of their last 15 games. As you scroll down I like STL2 tonight for that reason. That being said the o/u tonight in Vegas sits at 6 and I see every bit of this one going over.
CALGARY 1 (after hours)
Johnny Gaudreau L1 & PP1 Sean Monahan L1 & PP1 Elias Lindholm L1 & PP1
The Flames are in Anaheim tonight have been 4-1 their past five road games. What’s shocking is the fact Calgary has only won TWICE their last 34 games in Anaheim! That’s nuts! Due to that, I love CGY1 tonight! While everyone is looking left we go right! The old Kansas City shuffle!
ST LOUIS 2 (after hours)
Zach Sanford L2 Ryan O’Reilly L2 & PP1 David Perron L2 & PP1
As stated above the Blues have not played well recently. They haven’t been as chippy and physical as we’re used to. Vegas has been giving up 3+ goals a game their last 15 games. Safe bet that the Blues score 3 right on the money. Three of these men also play on the first power play unit. VGK wins tonight but the o/u of 6 goals gets smashed tonight!
Per usual here is a sample line for BOTH Main and After Hours! Please play responsible and these lines are to be used for fun!
Thank you for reading and I thank all of you for the recent support!
Hot Pucking Stacks has been picking up steam and it’s due to all of you who read and comment on it! I cant thank you enough!

Hang here and look for an undated After Hours closer to the 10p lock!
Tonight at 7:30pm we have a two game after hours NHL slate. Smaller slates have always been a favorite of mine. I’ve also talked with other DFS players who despise small slates. On a small slate there is little room for error given the smaller player pool.
Lets piggy back on the Hot Pucking Stacks article from this morning. If its not broke do not fix it!
Here are three specific stacks I like this evening! Along with a sample lineup. This lineup is a general idea of where my head is.
Bryan Rust PP1 Evgeni Malkin PP1 Jarred McCaan
Dominik Kahun is out this evening with a concussion. Jarred McCaan will take his place tonight on the Penguins second line. MaCann is only $4,900 and instantly becomes valuable playing with Malkin and Rust.
Warren Foegele Sebastian Aho PP1 Teuvo Teravainen PP1
Earlier I mentioned the Hurricanes #1 power play unit. Due to the smaller slate I love the idea of rostering Carolina’s second line. Along with that comes exposure to that #1 power play unit!
Brett Connolly Vincent Trocheck Noel Acciari
The Panthers have scored 13 goals the last three games. Florida’s first line has been on fire and tonight, the second game of a back to back, I have a gut feeling their second line sees all the action tonight. Noel Acciari is only $3,900 and to me, he’s a must start this evening. Noel scored last night and has a total of 18 goals, 87 hits, 73 shots on goal and 74 blocked shots. Those add up when counting fantasy points.
When it comes to defense I normally look for high minute guys with a cheaper price tag. There are two guys I just cant get away from tonight.
Ivan Provorov PHI L1 & PP1 @ $4,700
Ivan is the second most expensive defenseman tonight but he’s well worth it! Provorov doesn’t score much but he does everything else well! He does have 9 goals but his worth comes in shots, hits and blocked shots! He has 107 shots, 54 hits and 77 blocked shots. As it stands now he’s just one point away from matching his point total last season (26).
Riley Stillman FLA L2 @ $3,600
Stillman is a rookie and coming into his own. He’s super cheap as a defenseman and he does all those little things to accumulate point. 20 blocked shots, 19 shots on goal and 14 hits. He’s currently racking up fantasy points with assists and shots on goal. Riley isn’t going to set the world on fire scoring goals but he has a safe floor and at his price of $3,600 on Fanduel he will no doubt hit value!
When it comes to goalie tonight no one stands out to me. Here are a few choices.
Robin Lehner Chicago @ Florida $8,500
He’s my top goalie tonight. It’s ok if you have a few pieces of the Panthers stacked against him.
Brian Elliot Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh $7,300
Personally I would stay away from the Philly goalie tonight
Tristan Jarry Pittsburgh @ Philadelphia $8,800
Jarrys price tag is too much for me tonight given the match-up
Here is a sample lineup of what I’m working with tonight. This lineup is just for fun and please play safe!
