Have any of you ever heard the saying, “doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”? I’ve mentioned this old adage a time or two in my writing over the years. Yet here I am doing the same thing over and over again. Yet, the results have been vastly different. Thanks to some hard work and all your support.

It can get absolutely exhausting waking up, following a routine, same breakfast, same dinner, going to bed and waking up and doing it all over again for months on end. Some people thrive on conformity while others are looking for change constantly.  What if the pursuit of abnormality turns into our routine? Always trying new ideas, sharing your odd thoughts and behaviors while still implementing a little bit of normal?

All I’ve wanted to do is share my personal process. In any way possible no matter how odd it sounds. Being able to get my thoughts onto print hasn’t always been easy. Yet when I’ve taken the risk the results have never been the same. Out with the old and in with the new. How about we mix in the new with the old on a daily basis? The results will be outstanding!

There are nine games on the NHL schedule tonight. Lock is at 7p EST. Here are four of my favorite stacks tonight! Enjoy and take some calculated risks!

Pittsburgh Penguins 2

Pittsburgh Penguins

Jason Zucker L2 & PP1
Evgeni Malkin L2 & PP1
Kasperi Kapanen L2 & PP1

Pittsburgh is scoring around 2.90 goals a game while allowing an average of 3.50 goals per game. The Penguins welcome in the New Islanders this evening. The Islanders have been hot as of late looking to win their fourth consecutive game tonight. New York is only allowing 2.30 goals a contest. Their first line will match-up very well against PIT1 leaving the Pens second line free and clear. Final score tonight 4-1 or even 3-1 in favor of Pittsburgh.

Boston Bruins 1

Boston Bruins

Brad Marchand L1 & PP1
Patrice Bergeron L1 & PP1
Jake DeBrusk L1 & PP2

Boston takes on the New Jersey Devils tonight at TD Garden. Not much to say here about the Bruins you do not already know. They are among the cream of the NHL crop having only lost two games so far this season. The Bruins are scoring about 2.90 goals a game. While their power has been successful 27% of the time. Defensively the Devils are allowing 2.60 goals a game yet are killing off their penalties 67.6% of the time. Tonight, will be more of a defensive battle than you would think. Yet Boston finds a way to score three or four time. BOS1 is always chalk when they play. That is no secret. Always good to pick our spots. Pick BOS1 tonight!

Toronto Maple Leafs 2

Toronto Maple Leafs

Zach Hyman L2 & PP2
John Tavares L2 & PP2
William Nylander L2 & PP2

Toronto hosts the Ottawa Senators tonight and surprise, TOR1 may be the highest owned line tonight. Which is fine but that creates some value for TOR2. This game should be the battle of backup goalies which only excites me more. Sens goalie Marcus Hogberg only has 2 wins and is allowing 4.30 goals a game. As it stands now Hogberg is projected in new for Ottawa. If that is solidified throughout the day stack TOR2!

Bonus stack! Washington Capitals 2

Washington Caps

Jakub Vrana L2 & PP1
Nicklas Backstrom L2 & PP1
Tom Wilson L2 & PP2

The Core Four idea has been received well! Let us keep that going!

Here are some sample lines I am going to be using. Keep in mind these are for entertainment purposes only.

Nothing snarky to say here! Only five games on the NHL schedule this evening. Toronto and Edmonton will be big time chalk tonight. Look for some value in DET1, CAR2 and even FLA2.

Carolina Hurricanes 2

Carolina Hurricanes

Nino Niederreiter L2 & PP1
Vincent Trocheck L2 & PP1
Martin Necas L2 & PP2

The Carolina Hurricanes have scored around 3.40 goals a game. While defensively the Hurricanes are allowing about 2.80 goals per game. However, tonight they welcome in the Florida Panthers. The Panther offense has been above average scoring 3.05 goals a contest. The most important thing here is the Florida defense. The Panthers are only allowing 2.90 goals a game. So why would we target such a stout defense? Carolina is hotter than a pickled pepper patch. They absolutely crushed Columbus last time out. Scoring seven goals.

Toronto Maple Leafs 1

Toronto Maple Leafs

Joe Thornton L1 & PP1
Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

Toronto is playing Ottawa at home tonight. Dare I go on? The Maple Leafs are scoring a healthy 3.60 goals a game. While their power play has been successful around 35% of the time. TOR1 will also get us massive exposure to their top power play unit. I could make a case for the Senators first power play unit as well seeing how Toronto is only killing of about 65% of their penalties this season.

Edmonton Oilers 2

Edmonton Oilers

Dominik Kahun L2
Leon Draisaitl L2 & PP1
Kailer Yamamoto L2

Edmonton is scoring on average 3.50 goals per game while allowing around of 3.40 goals a game. Edmonton is one of the better teams in the NHL having won six of their last eight games. While Winnipeg has lost four of their last five. Edmonton should roll the Jets tonight. Final score 6-2 or even 5-1.

Detroit Red Wings 1

Detroit Red Wings

Filip Zadina L1 & PP1
Dylan Larkin L1 & PP1
Mathias Brome L1 & PP2

The Red Wings have been awful this season. They are only averaging 2.06 goals a game. So why stack DET1 tonight? They are cheap. They are at home. They hate the Blackhawks. Sometimes it is that easy! Enjoy!

The Core Four idea has been received well! Let us keep that going!

How do you unwind and relax? How often do you unwind and relax? Our mental health and personal attitudes are extremely important. If you lined up ten people in a room how easy would it be to point out the miserable people? How fast could you tell me which people are rude jerks? In my experience it is quite easy.

We are all different yet share so many like-minded qualities. Life is hard. There is no handbook about how to act daily. Only basic guidelines. It all boils down to time. How do we spend our time? Who do we give our time to? People look at currency and think that is what it is all about. All about cash. When realistically time is the real currency.

So how do you want to spend your time? Happy and peaceful or miserable and angry?

Pittsburgh Penguins 1

Pittsburgh Penguins

Jake Guentzel L1 & PP1
Sidney Crosby L1 & PP1
Bryan Rust L1 & PP1

The Penguins welcome in the Washington Caps tonight in what should be a high scoring affair. Bryan Rust is leading the Pens in goals scored (5), assists (8) and points (13). Pittsburgh is scoring around 3.010 goals a contest while allowing about 3.60 goals a game. As you scroll through make sure to stop at the Washington 1 blurb. Easily could be a 6-4 or 5-4 final tonight.

New York Rangers 1

New York Rangers

Chris Kreider L1 & PP1
Mika Zibanejad L1 & PP1
Colin Blackwell L1 & PP2

The New Jersey Devils head to Madison Square Garden to tussle with the Rangers. The Devils have not played since January 31st! They have been apart of five consecutive postponed games. I had to reread that too. New York is scoring about 2.40 goals per game and allowing around 2.55 goals per game. I feel awful for saying this, but we should be picking on the Devils tonight. Practice is practice but there is no substitute to real time game action. New York is a safe bet for three goals tonight and a win. Plan accordingly.

Los Angeles Kings 2

Los Angeles Kings

Adrian Kempe L2 & PP1
Gabriel Vilardi L2 & PP2
Jeff Carter L2 & PP2

The Minnesota Wild head to LA to battle the Kings at the Staples Center. The Wild have had several issues with COVID restrictions and postponements. While the Kings have been for the most part unscathed. Los Angeles has been scoring around 3.10 goals a game. Will the Wild be slow or sluggish? The Kings should be able to get over on the Wild. 3-2 or 4-2 final tonight in LA.

Washington Capitals 1

Washington Capitals

Alexander Ovechkin L1 & PP1
Nicklas Backstrom L1 & PP1
Tom Wilson L1 & PP2

The Caps head to Pittsburgh tonight well-armed and ready to play. Nicklas Backstrom is the leading goal scorer for Washington (7), assists (11) and points (18). Washington is lighting the lap around 3.50 times a game while giving up about 3.80 goals per game. What stands out to me here for the Caps is their power play. Ovi with his one-timer on that right faceoff circle has been his calling card for years on end. The Caps are successfully converting on the power-play around 35.5% of the time. Do not see that changing much tonight. Look for Ovi to find the net tonight on the power play!

This evenings hockey schedule is noticeably light. Only two games! Meaning, there is little to no room for error. Yet it also opens the idea of several stacks with several good combinations!

Let us discuss tonight’s hockey action. The Toronto Maple Leafs travel to Montreal to take on the Canadians. While the Boston Bruins head to New York to face the Rangers. Todays action from a betting perspective is as follows.

BOS (3.0) @ NYR (2.6) o/u 5.5.
TOR (3.2) @ MTL (3.2) o/u 6.5.

Montreal Canadians 2

Montreal Canadiens

Jonathan Drouin L2 & PP1
Nick Suzuki L2 & PP1
Josh Anderson L2 & PP2

Montreal’s 2nd line center Nick Suzuki is leading the team in assists with nine. While the Canadians are scoring around 4.25 goals a game and giving up around 3 goals a game. Montreal has started hot this season with an 8-2-2 record. Tonight, contest with Toronto is going to be very fantasy friendly. As a betting man I am taking the over here with a 5-2 or even 4-3 final.

Boston Bruins 2

Boston Bruins

Nick Ritchie L2 & PP1
David Krejci L2 & PP1
Craig Smith L2 & PP2

Boston skates into New York having won four in row at New York. The Bruins are scoring around 3.25 goals a contest and are allowing about 2.50 goals a game. Be mindful of the fact the Bruins last two games have postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. BOS1 is always in play but I could see a case for a slow start from them tonight.

New York Rangers 1

New York Rangers

Chris Kreider L1 & PP1
Mika Zibanjad L1 & PP1
Pavel Buchnevich L1 & PP1

The New York Rangers are scoring around 2.65 goals a game and are giving up exactly 2.65 goals per game. New York is in last place as of now in the East division. They have loads of offensive talent but have not started to click yet. Tonight, could be tough sledding for the Rangers but I am willing to take the risk on such a small slate.

That is, it! The fantasy football season is done. NFL DFS is over. I hate to clog Hot Puck with football talk but that would not be honest of me. The 2020 football season was long. It was exhausting to say the least, yet we all did great! So many friendships were made, and relationships built. Time to close that book and look ahead.

The dynasty football folks never sleep, and it is never over for them. Yet the hockey season is a breath of fresh air for me personally. Transitioning to NHL DFS is a welcome change.

I am excited to continue our DFS relationship well into the winter. I am thankful we have come this far and there is no turning back now. Thank you for the support during football season. Let us carry that over into NHL.

Edmonton 2

Edmonton Oilers and Connor McDavid

Dominik Kahun L2 & PP2
Leon Draisaitl L2 PP1
Kailer Yamamoto L2

EDM one off – Connor McDavid L1 & PP1

Edmonton heads to Ottawa tonight. While Oiler captain Connor McDavid is leading the team in goals (9), assists (17) and points with (26). Edmonton is scoring an average of 3.50 goals per game and allowing around 3.80 goals per game. If you look at EDM2 with the addition of McDavid we are getting major exposure to their PP1. The Edmonton power play is scoring 26.5% of the time so it would be wise to build our lines around them tonight. Ottawa is allowing, on average, 4.30 goals a game. While the Senators penalty kill unit is only killing off penalties 72.3% of the time. Stack Edmonton tonight!

Toronto 1

Toronto Maple Leafs

Zach Hyman L1 & PP1
Auston Matthews L1 & PP1
Mitch Marner L1 & PP1

The Maple Leafs host Vancouver tonight looking to beat Vancouver for the third straight time! Toronto captain Auston Matthews is the leading the team in goals (10), while Mitchell Marner has 14 assists and leading Toronto with 20 overall points. Toronto is scoring an average of 3.80 goals per game but only allowing around 2.70 goals a contest. What I am looking to do here tonight is get in on their top power play unit. Their power play is scoring about 39% of the time which is outstanding. The Canucks are allowing around 4.20 goals per game while they are only killing about 76% of their pentalties. The numbers are adding up in what should be 6-3 or 6-4 final!

Ottawa Senators 1

Ottawa Senators

Brady Tkachuk L1 & PP1
Josh Norris L1 & PP2
Evganii Dadonov L1 & PP1

Nothing more then a contrarian off the map play. Yet the argument holds some water. From the Sens first line Josh Norris leads the team with five assists. Ottawa is only scoring around 2.35 goals per game but the stat that sticks out is their average of allowing 4.30 goals a game. The over/under tonight in Ottawa is at 6.5 goals and will undoubtedly hit. Personally, the Senators do not stand a chance in this one but can see their first line scoring two or three goals. This game will be a super face paced affair accumulating a treasure trove of points. OTT1 ownership will be so low and miniscule that it makes them appetize in large sized GPP’s!

Tampa Bay Lightning 2

Tampa Bay

Alex Killorn L2 & PP1
Anthony Cirelli L2 & PP2
Tyler Johnson L2 & PP2

TB one off – Brayden Point L1 & PP1

Tampa is off to a fantastic start, 7-1-1! Tampa Bay is scoring around 3.60 goals a game. They head to Nashville tonight to battle the Preds. Defensively Nashville is giving up around 3 goals a contest. I see no reason why Tampa Bay cannot score 4 or 5 goals tonight. With the addition of Brayden Point as our one off we get a taste of their PP1 and PP2. This four-person stack has the chance to put up 3 or 4 goals and several assists. Fade at your own risk!

New York Rangers 2

New York Rangers

Artemi Panarin L2 & PP1
Ryan Strome L2 & PP2
Kaapo Kakko L2 & PP2

NYR one off – Mika Zibanejad L1 & PP1

The New York Islanders head across the bridge to battle for New York supremacy. The Rangers offense is scoring about 2.95 goals a game. Yet on defense the Rangers are giving up around 2.75 goals a game. As of right now the Islanders are not playing so hot. They did beat Pittsburgh last time out but are only scoring 2.30 goals a game. In the above stack with the addition of Mika we are getting 50/50 exposure to both the Rangers top power play units. I am predicting a 4-2 or 5-2 final here in favor of the Rangers.

The Core Four idea has been received well! Let us keep that going!

Bottom of the Barrel Super Bowl LV

Bottom of the Barrel Super Bowl LV
2/4/2021
Chris Robinhttps://twitter.com/DetroitBeastie

What a season! Wow was this a wild ride. The Super Bowl is upon us. Not much for me to say here that you do not already know. We have had two weeks to prepare and comb through every stat and match-up possible. So instead, I would like to use this spot for something more important.

Thank you. The love and support you have shown me this season have been unbelievable. More than I could have ever imagined. Thank you. Without all of you Bottom of the Barrel would be nothing. Just a washed-up piece of fantasy football crap. If you have not noticed there are hundreds and hundreds of fantasy football accounts, websites, and podcasts. Unfortunately, many good people get lost in the shuffle. Others just give up and quit due to the daily grind anxiety of the pressure.

Look, I have no blueprint on how to be successful with writing and broadcasting. The only thing I can tell you is my own way. Consistency, being open to change, acceptance and even a little fear goes along way. When we decide to try something new it is just natural to be afraid. Nothing grows in comfort.

Thank you to everyone who supported me and Bottom of the Barrel this season. It was a massive success. We had some fun along the way, a few disagreements but mostly fun. Thank you for everything along the way this season. The NFL season coming to end on Sunday is bitter sweet. Personally, I enjoy the rush and constant go-go-go. I also value my down time and resting. Either way it has come to an end! For that I am extremely grateful. For that I am extremely thankful.

Thank you for a fun and successful season. Could not have done it without you. Until next season friends!

QUARTERBACK

Patrick Mahomes KC @ TB (26th)(FD-$16,500)(DK-$12,000)

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

Let us be honest, Kansas City will score 30+ points Sunday, right? Pat will account for most, if not, all of them. He is the best player on the field so why get cute and talk yourself out of Patty Mahomes? Only reason to fade Mahomes is if you are in a massive GPP. His ownership will undoubtedly to 80+%. He is an expensively free square on Sunday if that makes any sense.

Tom Brady TB vs KC (21st)(FD-$15,000)(DK-$10,000)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady

Brady is washed. He is going to wither and die away from the New England Patriots. Oh! Tom Brady is a starting QB in the Super Bowl.

RUNNING BACK

Leonard Fournette TB vs KC (17th)(FD-$12,500)(DK-$7,800)

Tampa Bay RB Leonard Fournette

Leonard has been a pleasant surprise for the DFS community during Tampa’s playoff run. Not much will change Sunday. I am fully expecting 12+ targets and touches in what will amount to a robust stat line. Do not set your lines without Leo this weekend.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire KC @ TB (2nd)(FD-$10,000)(DK-$7,000)

Kansas City Chiefs rookie RB Clyde Edwards Helaire

CEH may wind up trashing a lot of our lines on Sunday. Or not? The rookie back missed some time late in the season and did absolutely nothing against the Bills on Championship Sunday. Are you willing to spend the money to roster Clyde on Sunday?

Darrel Williams KC @ TB (2nd)(FD-$9,000)(DK-$5,200)

Kansas City Chiefs RB Darrel Williams

D-Will is the KC RB play on Sunday. The casual DFS fans will flock to Clyde leaving Darrell under owned. Which is the edge we will need to separate ourselves from the crowd.

Ronald Jones II TB vs KC (17th)(FD-$8,000)(DK-$2,200)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Ronald Jones II

Bottom of the Barrel has always been about those off the beaten path plays. A player or two that can help propel your line across the finish line. Yet at this point of the season those same methods must go out the window. Super Bowl Sunday is not really the best time to get cute. I understand the idea of rostering a guy Sunday in hopes he is your golden goose. RoJo is not that guy.

WIDE RECIEVER

Tyreek Hill KV @ TB (26th)(FD-$14,000)(DK-$10,400)

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill

I do not own a crystal ball but let me be clear. DO NOT fade Tyreek Hill on Sunday. 100+ receiving yards is set in stone. A TD reception is set in stone. The only question is how many touchdowns will Tyreek score? Best suited to let him figure it out in your lineup!

Chris Godwin TB vs KC (3rd)(FD-$12,000)(DK-$8,800)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Chris Godwin

Nothing ground-breaking here but I have this odd feeling Tampa Bay is playing for behind on Sunday. Which will lead to heavy usage from Godwin. That is where KC is most vulnerable. Across the middle of the field.

Mike Evans TB vs KC (3rd)(FD-$11,500)(DK-$8,400)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans

People are constantly fading Evans. They are trading him, cutting him, or leaving him on the bench. If you are looking for a floor of four receptions and 70 receiving yards, then Mike is you guy! I love the idea of stacking BOTH Godwin and Evans on Sunday.

Antonio Brown TB vs KC (3rd)(FD-$9,500)(DK-$6,200)

Tampa Bay Bucs WR Antonio Brown

Last update AB was limited in practice on Wednesday the 3rd. Is it worth the risk on Sunday? There is so much more talent we can roster this weekend. AB is best suited as a throw GPP throw in last minute this weekend.

Mercole Hardman KC @ TB (26th)(FD-$7,500)(DK-$5,600)

Kansas City Chiefs WR Mercole Hardman

We have done this same ole song and dance with Hardman all year. Will he? Won’t he? I am putting all my chips on yes! Hardman will provide us with a healthy stat line on Sunday. Look at his price, why wouldn’t you sprinkle a little Hardman across your lineups this weekend?

Sammy Watkins KC @ TB (26th)(FD-$7,500)(DK-$4,200)

Kansas City Chiefs WR Sammy Watkins

Not much is given in life. There is not much we can say are a “sure thing”. Sammy Watkins playing like crap when we roster him and Sammy Watkins going nuts when we fade him are sure things! It is a sick give and take with Sammy. The choice is yours! I want nothing to do with him.

Scotty Miller TB vs KC (3rd)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$3,400)

Tampa Brady WR Scotty Miller

Is Scotty Miller faster than Tyreek Hill? Sure, going to fun watching the Super Bowl with that narrative. How many times do you think the announcers mention this? I will set the over/under at 3.5! Any takers?

Tyler Johnson TB vs KC (3rd)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$1,200)

Tampa Bay rookie WR Tyler Johnson

Nothing more than a Super Bowl dart throw. Will this kid come through when Tampa needs him the most? Tyler is +600 to score an anytime touchdown Sunday. Think I would rather make that bet.

TIGHT END

Travis Kelce KC @ TB (23rd)(FD-14,500)(DK-$11,000)

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce

What more can I say here that we do not already know about Kelce? He is the best tight end in football. He is even better than most wide receivers in the NFL. Travis will find the endzone Sunday. Much like Tyreek, how many times though?

Cameron Brate TB vs KC (30th)(FD-$7,000)(DK-$4,800)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate

Most of you film gurus already know what the Chiefs weak spot is on defense. The middle of the field. Just so happens that is wear Cam Brate roams!

Rob Gronkowski TB vs KC (30th)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$3,000)

Tampa Bay Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski

Playoff Gronk with playoff Brady has been a work of art for 10+ years now. Why would it stop now? The chemistry between these two is unparallel. Gronk is a safe bet for an anytime TD on Sunday. Make the bet and roster him too while you are at it.

Nick Keizer KC @ TB (23rd)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$200)

Kansas City TE Nick Keizer

Any of you get weird premonitions from time to time? I have heard feeling déjà vu is as close as it gets for seeing the future. I had had an odd feeling Keizer catches a TD pass Sunday. He just happens to be +1900 for that same bet! What are the chances?

Here are some of my single game sample lines I am going to use for the Super Bowl! Keep in mind these lines are for entertainment purposes! Please play responsible!

As promised, Hot Puck is heating up big time! If you are a true-blue hockey fan, then you can set your watch by this! The first few weeks of the NHL season is unorganized. It is a free for all. Line combinations are constantly being swapped, changed, and toyed with.

Soon as we get to week three and four its like a light switch! BAM! Line combos begin to click. Power play units are locked in and young goalies rise to the challenge. In turn, Hot Puck begins to sync with DFS players and fall right into place!

Montreal Canadians 2

Montreal Canadiens

Jonathan Drouin L2 & PP1
Nick Suzuki L2 & PP1
Josh Anderson L2 & PP1

So far this season Montreal has been one of the best offenses across the NHL scoring, on average, 4.50 goals a game. Their power play for is cashing in at 29.3%. While their defense has allowed around 3.10 goals per game. Tonight, MTL hosts an Ottawa Senators defense that is giving up 4.9 goals per game! They continue to be underwhelming under owned every night. MTL2 is without a doubt my favorite stack of the night and fully expect the Canadians to score 5+ goals tonight! STACK MTL2!

Carolina Hurricanes 2

Carolina Hurricanes

Nino Niederreiter L2 & PP2
Vincent Trocheck L2 & PP2
Martin Necas L2 & PP2

Carolina skates into Chicago tonight scoring around 2.95 goals a game. While their power play is nothing to write home about scoring around 23.5% of the time. Defensively Carolina has given up about 2.20 goals a game. On the flip side Chicago is only allowing 2.75 per contest. Something here tells me Carolina will score three or four times tonight.

St. Louis Blues 2

St. Louis Blues

Jaden Schwartz L2 & PP1
Brayden Schenn L2 & PP1
Jordan Kyrou L2 & PP2

The Arizona Coyotes head to St. Louis this evening. Brayden Schenn is currently the man in St Louis. He has scored with six goals! While Jordan Kyrou is leading the team in assists (7). Kyrou also lead STL in points (12). The Blues are clicking right now and scoring 3.10 goals a game. Yet, only allowing 2.75 goals a game. I am not really a numbers guy but if you score more than you give you the result should always be favorable! I am expecting St. Louis to score four or five times tonight at home.

Arizona Coyotes 1

Arizona Coyotes

Clayton Keller L1 & PP2
Nick Schmaltz L1 & PP1
Conor Garland L1 & PP1

On the other end of the ice tonight St. Louis, we have the Coyotes. Arizona winger, Conor Garland leads the team with five assists. Arizona’s goaltender, Darcy Kuemper, has a GAA of 2.70 and his save percentage sits at .900. Arizona is scoring a respectable 2.60 goals per game and are only allowing 2.80 goals a contest. Personally, ARZ @ STL is the most stackable game of the slate. This one feels like 4-3 or even a 5-4 final tonight! Let us stack the game! Will you join me?

Winnipeg Jets 2

Winnipeg Jets

Kyle Connor L2 & PP1
Paul Stastny L2 & PP1
Blake Wheeler L2 & PP1

The Calgary Flames travel with Winnipeg this evening to face off against the Jets. Winnipeg is scoring around 3.40 goals per game yet only allowing about 2.90 goals. The Jets have been playing fast and have been absolutely smothering opposing defenses recently. Look for a full-blown offensive tonight in Winnipeg. The Jets win by a pair here with a 5-3 final.

The Core Four idea has been received well! Let us keep that going!

As daily fantasy sports have grown and become more popular so have the strategies and conversation. The DFS boom has been a welcomed change to the landscape of seasonal fantasy sports.

I started using Fanduel in September 2013. Hockey was the first real DFS sport I dug into. Along the way it has been a lot of trial and error. The beauty of sports betting and DFS is that everyone has their own process. Everyone thinks they have it all figured out. Yet not everyone is willing to share or help others. Which is fine! You are entitled to you own opinion or sense of anonymity.

That is where we differ. For almost eight years I have gained this vast knowledge of DFS and could not be more excited to share my own personal process. Support group meetings have loads of corny cliches and catch phrases. I could implement a ton of them here but the most important one to me given the topic is “we can only keep what we have by giving it away.”

Personally, I can only do so much with this information. I decided long ago to help others and give what I have learned away! Tonight, the hockey schedule is only two games. Two games and four teams. Smaller slates have always been my bread and butter. Hopefully, you trust me enough to take this journey with me tonight!

Tampa Bay Lightning 1

Tampa Bay captain Steven Stamkos

Ondrej Palat L1 & PP1
Brayden Point L1 & PP1
Steven Stamkos L1 & PP1

It is no surprise that Steven Stamkos is the leading goal scorer for Tampa Bay. Steven has four goals and is leading the team in points (9). Tampa Bay is scoring an average of 3.50 goals per game and only allowing 2.25 goals per game. The Tampa Bay Power Player is scoring 24.0% of the time! Which might not seem like much but its good for 1st overall. While their penalty-kill has been functioning around 80.0% of the time. In layman’s terms, Tampa has been awesome to start the season and it will not change tonight against the Wings. TB wins 5-1 or 6-2. Stack TB!

Tampa Bay Lightening 3

Tampa Bay Lightning

Blake Coleman L3
Yanni Gourde L3 & PP2
Barclay Goodrow L3

I will not carry on about Tampa Bay here. Just know they could easily score 4+ goals and their third line will be getting in on the action for a noticeably cheaper price.

Boston Bruins 2

Boston Bruins

Nick Ritchie L2 & PP1
David Krejci L2 & PP2
Craig Smith L2 & PP2

Philadelphia welcomes in Boston tonight for what should be a fun and incredibly competitive game! Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask is 3-1-1 with a GAA (goals against average) of 2.50 and his .889 save percentage has held steady. Boston is scoring around 3.30 goals per game and allowing an average of 2.50 goals per game. If you notice with BOS2 we get exposure to their PP1 and a chuck of their PP2. Looking at Boston’s power-play I love the fact they are scoring 30.6% of the time. BOS @ PHI is the more stackable game tonight. Expect a 4-3 or even a 5-4 final tonight in Philly.

Philadelphia Flyers 2

Philadelphia Flyers

Oskar Lindblom L2 & PP2
Kevin Hayes L2 & PP2
Travis Konecny L2 & PP2

The Philadelphia Flyers are looking for their fifth consecutive victory tonight. Flyer goalie Carter Hart is sitting on a 3.61 GAA and a save percentage of .895. Philadelphia is scoring around 3.60 goals a game while giving up around 3.20 goals per game. The Flyers power play is scoring at a 29.7% clip. Again, this one should be fun and fast paced and destroy the o/u 5.5 goals.

It is no secret that TB1 and BOS1 are the plays tonight. That makes them chalk. With the Main slate only being two games everybody under the sun will be using these two lines. Which is fine but what complementary stack will use with it? TB3, BOS2 and PHI2!

The Core Four idea has been received well! Let us keep that going!

Better late than, ever right? I will not bore you with some sort of catchy or witty opening here. The first puck drop is only hours away so let us get right into it!

The biggest news so far today is the postponement of the New York Islanders vs the Buffalo Sabers. As of right now the rest of the schedule is good to go!

Winnipeg Jets 2

Winnipeg Jets

Kyle Connor L2 & PP1
Paul Stastny L2 & PP1
Blake Wheeler L2 & PP1

The Jets lost to the Canucks on Monday night 4-1. However tonight they host the Calgary Flames. While goalie Connor Hellebuyck has saved 90.7% of the shots he is faces, while allowing only 2.67 goals per game. The Jets have been good a defense while they have been quite balanced on offense. The Calgary Flames will struggle here. I am stacking WPG Jets.

Chicago Blackhawks 2

Chicago Blackhawks

Dominik Kubalik L2 & PP2
Dylan Strome L2 & PP1
Brandon Hagel L2

The Blackhawks won last time out 3-1 win for the Chicago was good. They looked exceptionally good. This year Chicago has been weak offensively and only scoring about 2.33 goals per game. The Blackhawks defense gives up, on average, 2.70 goals per game. Tonight, they host Carolina who has been strong all season on offense. I am not saying Chicago wins here but the case for five or six goals total here tonight could be made.

Montreal Canadians 1

Montreal Canadians

Tomas Tatar L1 & PP2
Phillip Danault L1
Brendan Gallagher L1 & PP2

Vancouver heads to Montreal tonight to play on back-to-to back nights. Same case for the Canadians! Expect a battle of the backup goaltenders and plenty of shots, points, and goals here. I have looked forward to stacking Canucks all season so far but MTL1 is just too perfectly priced tonight!

Edmonton Oilers 2

Edmonton Oilers and Connor McDavid

Dominik Kahun L2
Leon Draisaitl L2 & PP1
Kailer Yamamoto L2

Edmonton scored eight goals last game and it is no secret how good they are. Tonight, the Ottawa Senators travel to Edmonton and everyone’s eyes zoomed in right to it! Easy now! I have a feeling that EDM may have some tired legs. The Oilers will win without any trouble, but I feel as is a 3-2 final is in store. Stack EDM2 and move on.
