NBA VALUE STREET
JANUARY 22ND, 2020
BY DYLAN THOMPSON

What’s up #MoneyTeam….. Today is a good sized 12 game slate, with tons of value to sort through. With 24 teams to dive into and no time to waste, let’s get this started.

Results from 1/20/2020
Trent – 18.2 fantasy points 5.1x
Nance – 27 fantasy points 7.1x
Robinson – 23.2 fantasy points 4.7x
Grant – 32.4 fantasy points 8.1x

Point Guard

Kendrick Nunn

Facing a horrible Washington defense this evening, this is my guy at the PG position. In all five of his latest games, Nunn has smashed value with at least a 6.1X return! One of those outings was against a much improved Spurs team where he returned a massive 10.36X. Washington is giving up the 6th most ffpg to opposing Point guards, and tonight Nunn should feast. I’ll be locking and loading him tonight.

Shooting Guard

Buddy Hield

I cant remember the last time Buddy Hield was priced at $5300. Going up against a Detroit team that continues to struggle at every position except for center, Hield is another one of my value locks. I’m not quite sure why his price keeps dropping, but as long as it does, we need to take full advantage of it. His last outing against a Miami team that we typically won’t target players against, he gave us a whopping 9.44X on returned value. They say Detroit is ranked 14th against shooting guards, and that’s just fine with me. Hield is averaging 32 fppg on the season, and if we can get him to produce anywhere near that tonight, we might have a slate breaker on our hands.

Shooting Guard

Marcus Smart

With Brown now ruled out, I project Smart to pick up a starting role today. They matchup against a Grizzlies team that is the 2nd worst against shooting guards this season, and we all know Smart can ball out any given night. In three out of his last five games, he has returned at least 7.96X value. As long as he gets the starts and the minutes, I don’t see how you don’t play him. Tonight I see a huge return, and cannot pass up the opportunity.

Power Forward

Jerami Grant

Coming off a stellar performance against the Timberwolves where he got us 32.4 fantasy points, I’ll be looking tonight for another nice return tonight. Facing a Houston team that is ranked 24th against the PF position, we should get a solid 6x return here tonight. He has managed to get us this return in four out of his last five games, and with Millsap still out, we know the minutes are going to be there.

Center

Jaxson Hayes

With Zion returning tonight, Vegas has this as one of the highest implied totals of the night. Okafor is still questionable with a back injury, which should mean more minutes for Mr. Hayes. We know this kid is amazing, and is athletic and energetic as they come. High-scoring games means only one thing to me, more opportunities for fantasy production. A lot of eyes are going to be on Zion tonight, but I am keeping my eyes dialed in on Hayes. He has shown on multiple opportunities that he can return us anywhere from 9X all the way up to 12 X. I’m looking for another one of those nights tonight.
