MLB CRUSH SPOT
AUGUST 26TH, 2019
BY BRANDON SILVERS
Today we get a mediocre 8 game slate with only one pitcher really worth throwing your monay at in cash. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend and must note that our NFL content will be rolling out and I hope you all take full advantage of the special we have running.
Cash P- Sonny Gray / Pablo Lopez / JA Happ
GPP P- Julio Teheran / Dustin May / Alex Young /Joe Musgrove
C/1B- Tom Murphy
Murphy was on fire for a few weeks recently. I know he strikes out a bunch, but HAPP is not that impressive this year. So who wins the averages battle? I’m banking on batters. Murphy hits left handed pitchers with a .424 ISO on 48% Hard Contact. I believe most people will go with the Yankees, so let’s be different.
Also Consider: Paul Goldschmidt, Rhys Hoskins, Eric Thames, Ryan O’Hearn
Value: Christian Walker
2B- Austin Nola
Here we go again. I believe Nola and Seager with a little bit of Tom Murphy may go under owned and dangerous. You all know how i feel about Nola with his .408 ISO,14% K-Rate, and 49% Hard Contact vs Left handed pitchers. Something new on Nola you ask? He hits 45% of balls thrown at him of 95 MPH or higher.
Also Consider:Whit Merrifield, K. Marte, D. Dietrich
Value: Gleyber Torres
3B-Kyle Seager
Seager is a rare reverse splits hitter vs the same handed pitchers. he comes in 3rd of all active Seattle players vs lefties with a .309 ISO, 18% K-Rate and in 94 plate appearances, he has 13 extra base hits (5 doubles & 8 home runs).
Also Consider: Josh Donaldson, Marcus Semien, DeJong, Juan Segura
Value: Jeremy Lamb
SS- Trevor Story
Also Consider:
Value:
OF- Christian Yelich
Yelich hasn’t had a spot on the Crush Spot recently and for that I’m sorry! He plays Adam Wainwright and the Saint Louis Cardinals. Yelich has a .387 ISO, on 53% Hard Contact and hits balls thrown at 95 MPH or better at 50%. Wainwright gives up a 1.49 HR/9 and a .226 ISO, a mediocre 20% Strikeout rating, and 45.5% Hard Contact vs left handed batters.
