Bottom of the Barrel WK9
11/2/20
Chris Robin https://twitter.com/DetroitBeastie

We all have a big week ahead of us. Like it or not we’re all in this together. Like it or not we all need unity. We all need to come together. Sounds silly doesn’t it?

Maybe I’m too optimistic. Maybe I’m too willing to help others. It sounded odd to me when I read that out-loud. How can a human being be too optimistic? How can someone be too helpful?

Maybe I get too deep sometimes. Maybe I’m in my feelings too much. To be honest, it doesn’t bother me, that’s all I’ve ever known. These feelings and ideas are what makes me human. I wouldn’t change that for the world.

Look, it would be ridiculous of me to think some lowly fantasy football article can change the world. It would be preposterous to think I have any pull on social media. It’s ok to think big. It’s ok to have big dreams.

NEVER. STOP. DREAMING. BIG.

QUARTERBACK

Not new anymore but here’s the most expensive player at QB in week 9. Should help put B&B prices into perspective!

Patrick Mahomes KC vs. CAR (7th)(FD-$9,300)(DK-$8,100)

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

Here are some cheaper options I’m considering at QB!

Ryan Tannehill TEN vs. CHI (5th)(FD-$7,400)(DK-$6,300)

Tennessee Titan QB Ryan Tannehill

The Bears put together a magical record to start the season. They’ve now lost two straight. Have their true colors started to shine? Tannehill, overall, has put together strong numbers half way through the season. 17:3 TD:INT ratio mixed with a healthy diet of Derrick Henry. Tanny is a good bet for 250+ yards and 2+ TD’s Sunday!

Kirk Cousins MIN vs. DET (20th)(FD-$7,100)(DK-$6,200)

Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins

Every time I write down Kirk’s name I vomit in my mouth a little. Although awful, if we follow the match-ups it’s a good one! In five career games vs. the Lions, Kirk has 10 passing TD’s, 250+ passing yards in four of five and a 70%+ completion rate. It’s hard to pass him up at the price. Yuck!

Derek Carr LV @ LAC (29th)(FD-$7,000)(DK-$5,700)

Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr

Time to hop back onto the Carr train in week 9! After a sub par performance in Cleveland last week his price has actually gone down! The Chargers DST isn’t as lowly as you probably think it is. Although they giving up 25.57 points a game. Carr has a very nice floor in week 9!

Daniel Jones NYG @ WSH (16th)(FD-$6,900)(DK-$5,400)

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones

Let me explain! Danny seems to be in neutral. Kind of just there. In Philadelphia week 7 he gave us 21.68 Fanduel points. Monday night at home vs. a tough TB defense he provided 18.24 Fanduel points. So looking ahead to week 9 the match-up opens up a bit. Washington’s defensive line is not one to target but their secondary can be beaten! At the price all we need is 200 passing yards and a TD pass. Very do-able!

Tua Tagovailoa MIA @ ARZ (18th)(FD-$6,700)(DK-$5,500)

Miami Dolphins rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa

Tua finally made his much anticipated first start. Wasn’t exactly awesome. Which I’m cool with! There will be some growing pains. Tua vs. Kyler is shaping up to be a high end event! I’m hoping the competitive fire roars in this one as Tua keeps up with Kyler Murray.

Jake Luton JAX vs. HOU (23rd)(FD-$6,500)(DK-$4,900)

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie QB Jake Luton

Now we’re talking! Minshew Mania is over. That came out wrong. Not excited Gardner is out, I’m happy for the rookie. The sixth round rookie from Oregon St. will make his first NFL start! Jake had a fantastic 28:3 TD:INT ratio. At least his first start is against the hapless Texans!

RUNNING BACK

Not new anymore but here’s the most expensive player at RB in week 8. Should help put B&B prices into perspective!

Christian McCaffrey CAR @ KC (13th)(FD-$9,500)(DK-$8,500)

Carolina Panther RB Christian McCaffrery

Here are some cheaper options I’m considering at RB!

David Montgomery CHI @ TEN (24th)(FD-$5,900)(DK-$5,700)

Chicago Bears RB David Montgomery

Most talk ill of D-Mont. They say he’s basically a statue out on the field. I could argue both points but for the sake of B&B lets discuss the positives! David was finally efficient with his targets and touches Sunday vs. New Orleans! It was a lovely change of pace! He averaged 4.2yds a carry in week 8. He’s averaging 4.75 targets a game (8th) and has had 11+ fantasy points on Fanduel in 3 of his last 4 games. Montgomery is no doubt the unquestioned lead back in Chicago. A lead back under 6k? I’m all over it.

Justin Jackson LAC vs. LV (27th)(FD-$5,900)(DK-$4,900)

LA Chargers RB Justin Jackson

The Chargers backfield has been a guessing game all season. Until week 8. Justin look full control of it. Trust me! 17 carries 89 yards and 3 receptions for 53 yards. JJ was a top-10 RB in week 8. Albeit 10th but still a fantastic. Long as his price hovers where it is now he’s a play for me!

Zack Moss BUF vs. SEA (16th)(FD-$5,800)(DK-$5,200)

Buffalo Bills rookie RB Zack Moss

I can honestly say don’t think I’ve had player on B&B in back-to-back weeks after the previous week went well. Normally a guy plays well they up his price and he graduates from the Bottom of the Barrel school of DFS. Moss again did more with his carries then Devin Singletary. 14 carries 81 yards (5.8 per carry). Moss is clearly the goal line back here scoring twice Sunday from inside the 10yd line.

Phillip Lindsay DEN @ ATL (11th)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$5,200)

Denver Broncos RB Phil Lindsay

Here’s another muddied backfield. Melvin is seemingly the lead back but Phil has been absolutely fantastic with his limited work. Phil had 6 carries 83 yards and a TD Sunday. Fantasy players are begging for Lindsay to get more work! Our wish will be granted this weekend in Atlanta!

Wayne Gallman Jr. NYG @ WSH (6th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$4,500)

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman Jr.

How many times in a season has a guy been made available after an injury? Not saying it’s the case with Wayne but he’s serving us well! 12 carries 44 yards and a rushing TD in week 8. He’s now had 12+ fantasy points on Fanduel in back-to-back weeks. Am I nervous about Alfred Morris? No. Am I irritated with Dion Lewis? Yes. The price and his fantasy output is fantastic!

Le’Veon Bell KC vs. CAR (29th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$5,100)

Kansas City RB Le’Veon Bell

If you’ve noticed I’ve held off adding Bell into B&B for various reasons. One of which being usage and the other being a plus match-up. The time is now! Week 9! Pat Mahomes is a fantasy force, all yardage and points go through him. That’s not news. For DFS purposes we’re able to pick out spots. I’m selecting Bell in week 9! You should to!

JD McKissic WSH vs. NYG (20th)(FD-$5,200)(DK-$4,300)

Washington Football Team RB JD McKissic

One word to describe JD? Effective. Gibson is the lead back in Washington and that won’t change. I think that’s best for McKissic and his fantasy outlook. His price stays low and he stays off the DFS radar. JD makes his money with receptions and I’m looking forward to 5+ of them in week 9!

Brian Hill ATL vs. DEN (10th)(FD-$5,000)(DK-$4,000)

Atlanta Falcons RB Brian Hill

Who is scared for Todd Gurley’s long term fantasy prospects? If you are get Hill in your lines for week 9. Hill has looked quicker and more elusive then Todd too. Did you notice that in week 8? Brian had a seasonal high 11 carries last week and I’m excited to see how he’s used on Sunday.

Tony Pollard DAL vs. PIT (4th)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$4,000)

Dallas Cowboys RB Tony Pollard

The Dallas Cowboys are not good. That’s no secret. People are freaking out and selling off Zeke. That’s none of business but raises some interesting questions with Tony. Andy Dalton should be back in week 9. That helps the offense a touch. Dallas needs to start working in different personal and packages. In walks Pollard, at 4k+ on both sites, says hello and sits down in our week 9 lines! It’s an awful match-up yes but that makes me love it more! I am a sicko.

Anthony McFarland Jr. PIT @ DAL (22nd)(FD-$4,500)(DK-$4,000)

Pittsburgh Steelers RB Anthony McFarland Jr.

James Connor will be in 100% of my lines. He doesn’t meet the salary requirement for B&B though. There will be so many points and yardage to go around in this one. Roster McFarland and reap the benefits!

Troymaine Pope LAC vs. LV (27th)(FD-$4,500)(DK-$4,000)

Los Angeles Chargers RB Troymaine Pope

From the practice squad to production! 10 carries 67 yards 7 targets 5 receptions for 28 yards! LA Head Coach Anthony Lynn has always been a “hot hand” type of coach with his RB’s. This is a situation to monitor throughout the week.

DeAndre Washington MIA @ ARZ (28th)(FD-$4,500)(DK-$3,000)

Just coming out that Washington was traded to MIA today. Also breaking Gaskin is going to miss time with a MCL sprain. There is a lot to unpack here. First there’s the travel and COVID testing. Next is learning the playbook. Hard to see a case where he gets a ton of work in week 9. Maybe I’m just setting you up for a BIG B&B addition in week 10?
Shout out to Cesar for filling me in.

WIDE RECEIVER

DeAndre Hopkins ARZ vs. MIA (21st)(FD-$8,800)(DK-$8,200)

Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins

Here are some cheaper options I’m considering at WR!

Marquise Brown BAL @ IND (16th)(FD-$5,800)(DK-$6,000)

Baltimore Ravens WR Marquise Brown

Who here buys into the WR complaining for more work narrative? If you answered yes then Hollywood is your guy in week 9!

Curtis Samuel CAR @ KC (4th)(FD-$5,600)(DK-$4,400)

Carolina Panther WR Curtis Samuel

Admittedly a very tough match-up. I firmly believe the fact Carolina is moving Curtis around so much is beneficial for his production. Gimmicks aside highly consider Samuel in week 9.

Jerry Jeudy DEN @ ATL (28th)(FD-$5,700)(DK-$4,700)

Denver Broncos rookie WR Jerry Jeudy

If not now then when? Coming off a seasonal high in targets and yardage the stage is set for Jerry to go nuts in week 9!

Darnell Mooney CHI @ TEN (30th)(FD-$5,500)(DK-$3,900)

Chicago Bears rookie WR Darnell Mooney

The rookie is turning into a fantastic deep threat for the Bears. Mooney has received 5+ targets in six straight games. He’s scored twice this season and he will catch a TD in Tennessee this week. Back-to-back weeks with a TD for the kid. No doubt a fantastic play this week in all formats!

Laviska Shenault Jr. JAX vs. HOU (26th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,200)

Jacksonville Jaguars WR Laviska Shenault Jr.

Laviska has been hot and cold so far this season. Kid is electric and lines up all over the field. The Jags no doubt know this and would be wise to get him more involved. That starts this week in plus match-up after their bye week. What I find most exciting is the fact Jake Luton is getting the start. Meaning anything is possible! Luton/Shenault stack? Who says no?

Randall Cobb HOU @ JAX (19th)(FD-$5,400)(DK-$4,500)

Houston Texans WR Randall Cobb

This contest is green across the board. Cobb led the Texans in in targets, receptions and yardage in week 7. He now has 5 receptions of 20+ yards. He’s had his day in the spotlight years ago in Green Bay but who’s to say he can’t come though for us on a week to week basis?

Tim Patrick DEN @ ATL (28th)(FD-$5,300)(DK-$4,900)

Denver Broncos WR Time Patrick

The 3rd year WR has been a fantasy dynamo! On team loaded with young receiving talent Patrick has stood out. He unfortunately didn’t play in week 8 with a hamstring issue. Keep an eye on his status for week 9. It’s a sweet match-up!

Marvin Hall DET @ MIN (31st)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$3,800)

Detroit Lions WR Marvin Hall

Sad to say but Kenny G has already been ruled out for week 9. Marvin Hall looked to have benefited most after Kenny G exited the game Sunday in Detroit. Setting a career high in receiving yards the contest in Minnesota is very inviting! The Vikes have allowed the 3rd most yards per attempt in 2020! Deep balls will be flying!

Quintez Cephus DET @ MIN (31st)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$3,000)

Detroit Lions rookie WR Quintez Cephus

It’s yet to be seen who will see the most work in the wake of the Kenny G hip injury. Cephus has it in him to contribute. If you remember correctly the rookie had 10 targets in week 1 when Kenny G was inactive! I’d rather him figure it out on my week 9 roster!

TIGHT END

Travis Kelce KC vs. CAR (9th)(FD-$8,000)(DK-$7,200)

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce

Here are some cheaper options I’m considering at TE!

Jack Doyle IND vs. BAL (18th)(FD-$4,900)(DK-$2,900)

Indianapolis Colts TE Jack Doyle

Jack is back! Back-to-back weeks with a TD and on the field for 58% of the snaps. Jack is back! He makes for a nice streaming DFS play this week vs. BAL.

Ross Dwelley SF vs. GB (8th)(FD-$4,800)(DK-$3,800)

San Francisco 49ers TE Ross Dwelley

George Kittle has broken a bone in his foot if you haven’t heard. Now it’s Dwelly’s turn to step up. I don’t know how good it’ll be given the fact Jimmy G is done too. Oh well, for $4,800 and $3,800 guess you could do worse!

Jordan Akins HOU @ JAX (29th)(FD-$4,800)(DK-$3,300)

Houston Texans TE Jordan Akins

Akins was back at practice on Monday and will assume TE1 duties. When on the field he’s been the preferred TE option of QB1 Watson.

Will Dissly SEA @ BUF (31st)(FD-$4,600)(DK-$2,700)

Seattle Seahawks TE Will Dissly

The match-up in Buffalo is awesome. Buffalo has been a bottom-10 type DST so far this season. Long as Mr.Unlimted is at QB anything is possible!

Here are two of my sample lines I’m going to use for week 9! Keep in mind these lines are for entertainment purposes! Please play responsible!

Fanduel 11/8 1p MAIN

Also look for updated lines closer to lock on Sunday morning 11/8!

Draftkings 11/8 1p MAIN
