What sets fantasy baseball aside for me is all the strategy that goes in. Some owners like crafty veterans while other want young prospects. There is no right way! It’s your team! You’re able to build it how you want!
I’m asking you all now to please get involved in a dynasty start up. I’m not trying to push my ideals on anyone but I promise you’ll thank me later! The excitement that builds inside of me this time of year can only be explained as Christmas 1989 and getting my first Nintendo. Only this time you get to relive that excitement over and over.
We all find our own way in terms of fantasy sports. There is no wrong way! Build how you want and build to maximize your enjoyment.
What I’m going to bring you this time around is a 14 team mixed league mock draft. 5×5 rotisserie scoring format. Which means, batting average, home runs, RBI’s, stolen bases and runs for hitters. Wins, saves, ERA, strikeouts and WHIP for pitchers.
ROUND 12
155. Sean Manaea SP-Oakland Athletics
Has always had strong minor league numbers. Had a strong end to 2019.
156. Brandon Lowe 2B-Tampa Bay Rays
Had a fantastic first half of the season. I’m banking a strong 2020 season.
157. Mallex Smith OF-Seattle Mariners
Mallex could steal 50+ bases. Can’t pass on that kind of potential.
158. Mike Foltynewicz SP-Atlanta Braves
Late season return that brought back memories of 2018.
159. Willie Calhoun OF-Texas Rangers
I see regular playing time ahead and a breakout season on the horizon!
160. Andrew McCuthchen OF-Philadelphia Phillies
I’m not in the business of drafting players in the twilight of their careers BUT Cutch should have some gas left in his tank.
161. Wil Myers OF-San Diego Padres
Long as Wil keeps running then this pick is justified, still some upside here…
162. Kenley Jansen RP-Los Angeles Dodgers
Last season wasn’t the greatest but Kenley is still the closer on a great Dodger team.
163. Julio Urias SP-Los Angeles Dodgers
Still should have some workload management. Not a big deal to me at this price.
164. Wilson Ramos C-New York Mets
Mr. Reliable at the catcher position. Ramos lead all catchers in BA last season too!
165. Taylor Rogers RP-Minnesota Twins
Great closer on what should be a team in playoff contention. He checks all my boxes at RP.
166. Mike Minor SP-Texas Rangers
Minor had an awesome 2019! Only question is if he can carry it over to 2020. I think so.
167. Jorge Alfaro C-Miami Marlins
The talent is there and people are letting him fall. Scoop him up and enjoy all the AB’s.
168. Hector Neris RP-Philadelphia Phillies
Was given a raise by the Phillies and with Giradi managing expect Neris to have a clear cut role.
